It's crazy how life goes and I feel for your family troubles. I'm in a similar situation with my parents, minus the happy childhood and loving parents, and it's almost too late to mend. They're both in their 80's now, in poor health, and don't think I would be welcome if I tried to connect. It still nags at me though, especially since losing the woman and her family I had traded for 26 years ago. While she didn't force me to cut all ties, she definitely pushed for it, and then stabbed me in the back in the end. Now, I don't have in-laws, which I loved, or my dysfunctional parents.... some of us aren't as fortunate as others I guess.

Separation from the ones you love the most is so difficult. The saying goes time heals all wounds does not apply here. SC he will be back and it won’t be the same everyone has been hurt he and your relationship will be at a different level. DJ is on his own for the first time in his life and it’s difficult for all involved to not know how this will all turn out. Hopefully he will come back and seek yours and Diane’s advise. My heart goes out to you and I hope you have your pride and joy DJ back and whole as a person.

I'm almost finished with Stephen Meyer's book Return of the God Hypothesis. I had never taken intelligent design seriously but after I understood just how much effort mainstream media put into mocking/demonizing things they disagree with I looked into it. He makes a very rational argument and shows a lot of the logical fallacies present in the mainstream/popular materialistic theories. If you enjoy science and philosophy it is a great read.

I find it amazing that you are doing this series with the details you are putting forth. it would be so much easier for you to just say something along the lines of, "DJ is full of shit!" and move on, but you are giving us a very well painted journey down the path that evolved to the destination of 'today' and it is very appreciated!

Not all of us were fortunate enough to have a caring Dad and it pisses me off to see people that are lucky enough to have an actual Dad take it for granted and throw it all away! I was raised by a very hard working, loving single Mom; my sperm-donor of a father was never around so my main 'Father-Figure' growing up was my Grand Pa. Grand Pa Bill was damn near 70 when I was borned, died when I was 12 or 13 so realistically, by the time I came along, he was too old to take me camping or hunting and that kind of thing, but we whittled a shit-ton of sticks setting out in the yard together! I'd give my left testicle to have one more conversation with that man!
Senior, I can tell ya was a very caring Dad, hell even Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Ronnie Milsap see it! Maybe that's why I find this series so intriguing and fascinating?

Wow Im sitting back watching this and realizing that my ex who I had a hard time with my family and hers even a worse time with. My daughter came over with steaks and a salad. Spending time with the old man. She's been making bank on all this cryptocurrency BS which personally I think it's a pyramid scam. But has money in her account. In her investments she made around 18000 In the year or so she's been in. In no way shape or form am I recommending anyone investing. It's a gamble. So IB is rolling the dice a little and see what it will do. When I'm standing in line at a soup kitchen you know what happened lol. 500 in so guess we will see. I'm at the point in life where I know I have a lot to learn. It's a strange change of pace once you leave your 20s, where I thought I knew everything. Thanks for making these videos. There is a lot to learn from your experience.

I don't know you or DJ beyond what can be learned from youtube/this website. In a world full of imperfect people, you and your son appear to be on the right end of that spectrum. That's the opinion of one lowly civilian who has never done military service.
