Found out one of my best friends Sharon passed away in her sleep last night due to complications from cerebral palsy. We were in the same program group for years and now I won't have a friend when I go back tomorrow. I'm at least thankful I saw her yesterday at program. She called me a cunt rag on her PECS with the biggest smile when I walked in then I flipped her off making us both laugh. I miss her already.

Visited Old Stone Fort and—naturally—there’s a massive construction project underway. Everything shut down, coned off, not a soul around. We drove all this way and I needed a head call, so we slipped past the barriers. No signs stopping us, no one yelling—so, screw it.
The place felt eerie. It’s supposed to “light up” on the 28th—sacred mound, planetary alignment, all that mystic lore. We headed into the backland anyway. Rough footing, a little sketchy, but what the hell—I’ve got surgery coming up to fix the last tumble. I cropped this shot to blow up the figure and lost some definition.

My brother told me years ago, when Jesse was publically making a lot of noise, that Ventura and his crew walked through the pool area during a BUDS class he was instructing. I think he said he pretty much disrupted the training. I caught you saying the same thing about Ventura coming through your 131 class training, the same class my brother was an instructor.  Small world. : )

When I was released from the hospital after open back surgery they sent me home with a foam mattress topper. It was an egg crate pattern, about 1.5 inches tall but the peaks were high and the pockets were so deep the thinnest part of the topper was about 1/2 inch. 

A lot of people in the back pain groups say the best solution is a good medium firm top mattress with a foam topper. (mine was actually called a Chiro Regal).
Exactly what will work depends on the person, weight and their exact condition. It's not magic but it can help. 

Doctor's appointments and medicine are expensive and mattress toppers are cheap.
Try a 1 inch, try a soft 2 inch, try a firm 2 inch memory foam, try egg crate patterns; if it doesn't work throw it out and try something else.

A pool table for the grand kids is a great idea. Go for full size American, they need a room 18' x 13'6" minimum. Better off to buy a used one, people move house and cant be fucked, can save 80% compared to a new one. Kids dont use full size cues, so can get away with a smaller room. Adults can use a shorter cue on some angles, makes no difference.

Down here, if you are rich you have a room big enough for a full size snooker table,. 22ft x 16ft minimum, they dont make rooms that big any more. A 45k used snooker table, lucky to get two grand.
Up the road at Mintaro they have mined the worlds best billiard table slate for 150 years. Very old very fine sediment.

First of all, thank you so much for both of your honorable and amazing service to our wonderful country. Both in the Navy, just like my Dad! USS Mauna Kea - 1979 to 1983 - and he was Sailor of the Quarter for the entire Pacific Fleet in I think 1981, a quarter of one of those years in the early 80s. He is (obviously formerly) GMG3 Joseph Frangione. And me, I became a fan of you both (Diane and Don) when I was 16 in 2013 and realized I wanted to be in the military like my Dad. Because I love my country, I wanted to help people, and I wanted to do something positive as an adult. I ended up enlisting in the Florida Army National Guard the day before my 19th birthday - 11/06/2015. 11B Infantryman! I got a 92 on the ASVAB the one and only time I took it in 2014, and I was always book smart. But, I wanted to serve my country and learn how to be physically fit and be able to push through anything too! The original plan was to be a Army ROTC cadet and be an Officer like Captain Khan. Rest in peace to him, fly high king. I graduated on time, even though I pushed through countless untreated ailments like bronchitis, pink eye, and an untreated concussion. My training class at Ft. Benning is B 2/54 from Jan 4 to Apr 21, 2nd Platoon! Reapers Keep Reaping, Don't Fear the Reapers! And I served honorably in 53rd BCT HHC. Had a break in service. Re-enlisted in active duty Army - 1st ID in Ft. Riley. Bloody First, Fightin' First. But I was immediately diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at the hospital on base at Fort Riley. I got administratively discharged, General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions. I never achieved my original goal to be like Captain Khan, but I did serve honorably. And my Bipolar Disorder is recognized as a Disability now by the Social Security Administration. Now I am in a custody battle with the VA, to trace that Bipolar Disorder back to my untreated concussion at Fort Benning, where I spent over 10 seconds unconscious and no medical attention was ever called for me that day. The next day, I could not lift myself up from my SAW, and I was taken by a DS in the Company truck to the Emergency Room at Benning - Martin Army Community Hospital. The Emergency Room Doc gave me a 15 second eval, then said he won't give me an MRI because he does not want to risk my head getting radiated. So, I believe I will winn this VA battle! Just like I served honorably when I was inspired by Diane and Don - PFC Joseph Lin Frangione, 11B US Army Infantryman Veteran. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
