George Everette "Bud" Day (24 February 1925 – 27 July 2013) was a United States Air Force officer, aviator, and veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He was also a prisoner of war, and recipient of the Medal of Honor and Air Force Cross. As of 2025, he is the only person to be awarded both the Medal of Honor and Air Force Cross. He was posthumously advanced to the rank of brigadier general effective March 27, 2018

Williams could have avoided going if he wanted to, but he didn’t want to; that’s the kind of sailor he was. His efforts at fighting North Vietnamese and Viet Cong attacks while interdicting enemy supply movements were second to none.

Army Col. Robert Lewis Howard was a legend for his service in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Having deployed there five times, he's the most decorated soldier to have served in the conflict and is the only soldier to have been nominated three times for the Medal of Honor.

"Lt. Gen. Frank E. Petersen Jr., the first ever black Marine Corps pilot, who fought endemic racism to rise to the rank of three-star general. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross for his performances on 64 combat missions in Korea. He also has a tour of duty in Vietnam commanding a tactical air squadron in more than 250 missions followed in 1968, and he received the Purple Heart for being wounded when he had to eject because his plane was struck by anti-aircraft fire." General Petersen passed away in 2015

Ah yes, gold panning in the Sierra Mountains. I remember heading over to Pino Grande, then vectoring toward Sierra City because they’d found a 100-pound gold nugget in the road.

Shoes, that's what made me notice 2 1/2 years ago when I had arthritis in the big joint of my big toe.
For years I'd buy the standard size 11 of any shoe like Nike or New Balance and they always fit.
They may be a little tight but my amazing under-50 body would stretch them out and break them in after about 2 days. I always had shoes that fit like a glove until the tread wore out 

Arthritis-like symptoms in the big joint of the big toe only, especially with red outside (which I had for a little while) is supposed to be the typical sign of gout but the serum uric acid blood test came back negative.
I went to a high end sporting goods store with a huge shoe department, got measured and found 2 pair that were acceptable.
I still had to mostly stay off it for 6 months, no long walks, but I had shoes I could wear for driving the car and things like shopping.
It wasn't until early this year I could start going on long walks over a mile again.

Plantar fasciitis is supposed to be on the bottom of the foot and the heel.  

Now that I’d eat. 🍷🙏
