Sooo, Senior Chief, with all the stuff you did in demolitions, can we all assume (there's a word for ya) that if we see you running, that we have to try and keep up? I used to do the same thing in the civilian world way before my Navy time (it was NOTHING like what you did) except I worked at surface coal mine blowing the overburden off the seam of coal we were digging. So I know a little bit about it. Besides, using 60% dynamite, in a hole, with electric delays, is NOTHING compared to what you have used. The things I had to worry about was the use of two-way radios and thunderstorms on top of making sure there no people or cows (we leased the land from cattle ranchers) on the shot. Nothing too dangerous (I say that, there is danger in all explosives if not handled right and with care).
Ms. Diane, as you may already know, being a military spouse, especially a Navy Seal spouse, is the toughest job in the Navy. But, lucky you (I know there were a few times that you may not of felt quite so lucky-all marriages get that way at times) you got a good man there. Still, there should be some kind of an award be given to all military spouses who have remained faithful and who have learned to take care of home port while we Sailors other military people go serve our beloved country. To you and all military spouses, past and present, THANK YOU! That goes for military Moms and Dads too. Out.

There's no doubt Diane played a major role in her son's ambitions/talents. However, I don't believe it was the way she said. Selective mating by her ancestors as well as Don's led to a gene pool that leads to certain sensibilities, talents and interests. Mothering certainly is vital but not as important as good genes.
