Rick Rescorla had spent much of his life preparing for moments like 9/11.

Born in Cornwall, England, he served as a British paratrooper before moving to America and becoming a decorated U.S. Army officer in Vietnam. After joining Morgan Stanley as a security executive, he became convinced the World Trade Center could be targeted again following the 1993 attacks and made employees repeatedly practice evacuating down the stairs.

On 9/11, those drills paid off. Rescorla ignored instructions to remain inside and began evacuating thousands of employees from the South Tower. Carrying a bullhorn, he directed people down the stairs while singing Cornish songs to keep them calm, just as he had sung to his soldiers decades earlier in Vietnam.

After helping thousands escape, he went back upstairs to search for others.

Australian Law has no bearing in such things, but this is how we would see it according to a retired Judge.
The matter would be thrown out of court because:
1 An abuse of process, harassing or trying to financially ruin someone for the sake of it.
2 Doomed to fail, Legally untenable, even if every claims are true, they are not legally actionable.
3 Frivolous, just nonsense that has no place in a Court.
4 Legally embarrassing, just a load of nonsense that is so vague, it is hard to determine what the person is moaning about or how it relates to the damages claimed.
5 Justification, its true.
6 Contextual truth, the main thing is true, the rest is just gilding the Lilly
7 Fair criticism of a public figure
8 Honest opinion
9 Public interest
10 Triviality, no damage done.
11 No reputation to damage or reputation already lost.
12 Ridicule or satire.
These are hurdles DJ has to jump over to get in the door of a Court. No Lawyer would take it on here, not even on a no win no fee or 80/20 split, not even 90/10 split because its nonsense and would cost more than any possible damages awarded.
The Clerk of Courts would not even show it to the Judge, the Lawyer who filed it would get a phone call. Are you sure you want to do this to your career? if yes, it would be put down for a preliminary hearing, and the defendant would apply for it to be struck out due to any one of the above.
Or the Judge say what have you got and what do you say and decide the matter on the spot, 100% thrown out.
The Court does not like to have its time wasted. Judges are busy people, it wouldnt get to Court.

I found out what the coppers were up to the other day outside my house.

On Sunday afternoon, police were alerted by the public about a potential drink driver. Police located a man stationary in his vehicle at Hallett. The 46-year-old Port Augusta man was given a direction not to drive due to his intoxication. About 7.15pm on Sunday, Burra Police stopped the same man driving on the Wilkins Highway, Jamestown. He was arrested for failing to obey a direction and driving under the influence. He was further charged with disorderly behaviour and failing to comply with breath analysis and issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he was bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on 19 October.

South Australia Police still have discretionary powers. All other States if you are drunk in a parked car as the driver, youre gone on the spot. He was probably an Abo, they get special treatment.

Two different wattles, the flowers look the same but the leaves dont.

Down the back, these trees are 7 years old, 20 died, these are the ones that like it there. The tall light green stuff is saltbush. It thrives here, it gives good cover so you plant the trees in it and then when they poke their heads above it, you clear it, the ones up the back are about 12 foot tall, put on 2 feet over winter. Ive left a patch of saltbush because summer is coming up and its for the birds.
As you can see, our plants just blend in unless they are flowering, the wattles are out now.. Its a pretty stark landscape until you get up close to it. Theres 16 trees, 6 different types in this pic.

When I was 20, 10k could buy you a beach shack, maybe 5 if the land was small.

Our War Memorial is being cleaned today. They are Stonemasons and are pressure washing it. I hope they dont etch the marble, its a no no with calcium carbonate unless you seal it. Oh well, its better than nothing. Its to get the lichen off.

If it was me I would have applied copper sulphate as recommended, let the wind and rain wash the dead lichen off as recommended, and then hand wash with a PH neutral soap as recommend.

Its hard to get good help.
