Well, I haven't checked in a while, so here's my planet, lately:
Our oldest son got married in September, and here is a picture of the family. My Dad is on the far right (Army, 2 years, deployed Vietnam). Two people to the left is my Father-in-law (former chief of police, currently part time cop). Our groom is obviously in the midst (currently Marine with 5 years, deployed once). I'm two people the left of him (Navy, deployed 3 times). On the far left, is a neighborhood kid that we kind of adopted his senior year. I'm not going to go deep into it, but he generally was at our house about 4 nights a week. I think, mostly, for supper, haha! (Army Nat'l Guard, 4 years, deployed once). The groom asked him to be in the picture, as he still considers our place "home", when he comes back to town to visit friends and such.
The beautiful chick in the gold dress is my bride. We had taken a couple days off of work, after the wedding, to get things back to "normal". She woke up around 4:30 in the morning to use the bathroom and took a hell of a tumble down our steep stairs from our bedroom. Our 19 year old (pictured to the left of me) and I woke, immediately, to tend to her. She, clearly, wasn't right, and our son looked at me and said with a sorta' smirk, "You know that your dumbass is taking her to the hospital, right?" I was like, "Yea pal, I think that's where we are at with this deal." At the hospital, they determined, fairly quickly, that she had a brain tumor about the size of a golf ball.
Anyway, we just had that nugget removed from her skull a little over a week ago, and she is doing great, considering. The tumor wasn't really attached to much, and was NOT cancer. She should be back to work sometime around Thanksgiving, but has enough paid time off built up that she could take off 'til Christmas, if she needed to. Thankfully, my company has better than most insurance. There probably won't be as many gifts this year, having paid for our part of the wedding to start with, and now this happening, but we are going to feel blessed, none the less! We are just happy to be alive.

Well, I think President Biden is doing a Fantastic job of Running the Nation I give him an A+ grade. YEEHAW!!!

Fired it last year and wanted to wrap it around a tree. Devised a way using a 38 case cut down to have the bolts go through, locktite and it's solid so will know next Friday when I hit the woods. It's a inexpensive rifle and I fell for the hype.

Flashback--back in the day when I was a duck hunting fanatic I would get so excited about opening day, I couldn't sleep--and when the ducks started flying I was like a two year old kid that just found his willy--the blackberry brandy in the blind helped too. Try it. It fills the void when those savage marauders with green heads stop flying.

Howdy folks. Made it to Nevada late last night. The wife wasn't doing well. They had to keep increasing her oxygen. I thought I was going to lose her. I told her to hang in there, today it was all going to turn around.

And it did. The doctors had never seen the virus so aggressive and they were scared. But today her oxygen levels held and she's turned the corner.

What have I learned?
1. The virus doesn't care. If you are vaccinated you stand a chance of minimizing the effects. If not, be prepared to get the full impact.
2. It can move quickly not giving you time for some other therapies like monoclonal infusion. In order to be considered, your o2 level has to be 90% or better, you need to provide proof of a postive test result, have to be within 10 days of the first symptom, get doctors orders and... get it scheduled. Time is not your friend.
3. Get a pulsox meter. No other way to determine how sick you actually are. Many who have died and didn't know until they were in the hospital and couldn't breath. Often it's too late then.
4. Covid may be similar in many cases, but it doesn't always present a fever. Remember when they were checking forehead temps? My son tested positive, he only had a slight cough, lost taste and smell and felt crappy, no fever. My wife had fever which led to covid pneumonia.

The battle is, fight the virus with antibiotics or antibodies. The virus will fill your lungs with mucus until it runs its course, you get it stopped or you die. In the meantime they provide oxygen therapy to keep you alive. Once the virus is stopped they can treat the pneumonia.
