On August 30, 2025 a book came out called, "Seabee Combat Service Support: Seabee Memoir" by Calvin Rich. Search Amazon.
But the description starts off saying, "True story about a career Navy man struggling with memories from being assigned to a Navy Seal Platoon".
I haven't read it and the actual title says Seabee and not SEAL. I am not accusing Mr. Rich of anything. The description was just worded weirdly. Most likely by the Publisher because Seals are more well known than Seabees.

The newer gopros record at 4K or higher and with high bit rates, which will make a standard computer squeal and scream in pain. You can set the video to 1080P, 24 frames per second, low bitrate from the rear screen. It can be a pain, though. If you connect them to your phone, it's easier... assuming you can figure out getting the phone paired with the camera. The gopro phone app sucks if you want to add voiceover and pictures, unfortunately.

As far as processing the video goes, for my non-case related videos, I use adobe media encoder to stitch multiple videos together. You can put all of your videos in order and then add them to the job in Encoder for whatever size video you want (720/1080/2K whatever) and it stitches them all together for you. Then I will use premier rush or Premier pro to get everything cut up like I want it. You can do voiceover and editing easier on Premier Rush. Rush also doesn't eat up a lot of memory (RAM) on your computer like premier pro does.

I must say this about Carl Whittaker too. At Chongju, when his platoon went in there - ChappieWalsh had the platoon - they went in two sections up - and that was the first time we saw
Chinese volunteers too, and they were sunk into the ground on this place - went in there, great
burst of fire, and they all went down except Carl Whittaker and his mate on the flank, and Carl
was the only one left.
He picked up his mate, put him behind a paddy field wall, stuck his rifle
in there, then took his own rifle off his shoulder, and went on again, alone. I was watching him
through the scope - it was just like watching TV - and I was firing at anything that I thought was
a fire position ahead of him to give him some cover, but you could see the strike of the bullets,
all behind him mainly - out like a big fan, so all this stuff is just missing him, but he just
resolutely went on with his rifle and bayonet. At the same time George Campbell raced across
with a ...

So what action was this?
This is at Chongju - Chongju, right up the top. So here's Carl Whittaker from ordnance, and he
was the only man continuing the attack assigned to two sections which were all just mowed
down. George Campbell, he brought the reserve section, brought them up on the right flank, and
when he got onto the right flank he was able to fire along there - and Carl was still going - and
then the enemy up and off then, and Carl just went up there in pursuit, shooting at them -
probably knocking them all down, but I couldn't see that because they went over the edge of the
hill.
He was worth a VC and two bars, I think, old Carl because he was just walking into certain
death, but doing his duty. But he'd stopped to pick up a wounded man; had he not done that, he
and the wounded bloke would have been killed with all the fire going around anyway, so there's
exceptions to the rule where you never take any notice of a wounded man - but that was the
exception.

It's a question of whether your time is there, I think.
He did the right thing, exactly, and it was all proved out, he was still alive when he ran onto the
feature, and it only took him seconds to pick that fellow up and put him behind a paddy field
wall, and stick his rifle and bayonet in the ground as a marker for the stretcher bearers.

Anyway, down comes George - George Campbell - and George is a real solid old soldier, you
know - only black and white he knew about, so he kicked poor Carl in the backside - 'Don't ever
stop for a wounded man again.' I said to Carl, 'Carl, you did a bloody great job there, nothing is
fairer in the world, don't look back on that, forget it.' That's Carl Whittaker, he's not in the
history.

Well that went easier than I thought. Murrays Mrs came up for a visit, she looks well always does, looks 60 not 85. She misses him of course but shes accepted it. She said when he died in her arms, she looked at him and his skin had changed and his eyes went dark and she said thats not my Murray, he has gone. She said she didnt feel him go.
She went on the holiday and a snake was in the bathroom and she reckons it was Murray. She stood on the bed for an hour til help arrived and it had gone, but the next day they found its skin, shes convinced its Murray having a laugh.

Anyway 2 more weeks til she gets the new digs, downsized to 4 bedrooms closer to town.
Money is no object which is good. I said why 4 bedrooms for one person, she said doesnt matter she likes it.
We played a game of me giving her money and her throwing it back at me. Take it its for the new garage door, no I dont want it, here you have this for the plumbing, no I dont need it, in the end she forgot to take the flowers but took the lemons.

Its a relief really, a weight of the old shoulders so to speak. She didnt start howling so I didnt.

Hopefully Trump can fix the military. When I left my whole chain of command was black, and or gay. Not a straight white male to be seen. We were getting training that men could go in the women's locker rooms if they identified as a woman (no surgery needed - swinging dicks in the women's room). And anyone who was not on board with crazy basically ended their career. It was an unbelievable shitshow. The base CO was wandering around randomly announcing she was a lesbian. That appeared to be her only skill.

I am so glad you can spend time with your grandson now. It will pay dividends in the future. Lot of work I know but stay the course.

What a cutie! My grandfather took me fishing once, and I cried hysterically because he killed fish. My one and only experience with fishing.

Hey Senior Chief & Mrs. Shipley,
I’ve been a subscriber for awhile now and have a lot of respect for many of the things you do but especially what I saw in this video. My wife and I have custody of her son’s (my stepson’s) daughter. So even though she doesn’t have my blood she is my granddaughter and I am really the only male role model in her life and 45 years old.
Both parents are bums, she lives with us, is in first grade, does well in school, plays soccer, has more energy than a lighting bolt, and is just a great, loving little girl who we are trying to raise right in this crazy world. It scares me to think of her alternative since her parents are separated do-nothings and state foster care could be even worse.
