Oh boy, Mom really surprised us. She told us she was taking us to the great nation of Canada to meet Ken Dryden at an autograph signing fan appreciation event. Everyone knows Ken Dryden is a true ambassador of Canada. We came to learn about Ken Dryden through our good neighbor Hef. Hef would play us videos of the Montreal Canadiens destroying the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. Hef has a picture of Dryden on his wall right next to Stevie Nicks. We knew we had to do something special for Hef. So after Hef passed out from the whiskey, we grabbed one of his model cars for Dryden to sign. Our trip to Canada was incredible; the people are so nice, polite, informed, and intelligent. We didn't want to come back home, but we just had to see the look on Hef's face when he saw his model car signed by his hero, Ken Dryden...🍁 To quote Bret Hart, another great Canadian, Dryden is... "The Best There Is, the Best There Was, the Best There Ever Will Be." Ken Dryden Aug. 8th 1947 - Sept. 5th 2025 RIP 🇨🇦❤️🏒🙏

Donald Trump greenlit a daring mission to send Navy SEALs into North Korea to bug Kim Jong Un before the operation unraveled after the soldiers killed several fishermen and fled, a bombshell new report reveals.
The audacious plot unfolded in early 2019 as Trump was locked in high-stakes nuclear talks with Kim to limit the hostile nation's nuclear program.
With negotiations moving forward, Trump was set for the first of two face-to-face meetings with Kim in Vietnam, and military officials presented a plan to have a SEAL team covertly move in.
The mission was given to SEAL Team 6, the same unit that took out Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan in May 2011.
But despite months of rehearsals to sneak to the North Korean coast in submarines and plant the device before leaving undetected the operation quickly went sideways, a new report from The New York Times claims.
According to military officials who spoke with the outlet, the SEALs only got onto the beach for a short time before they were spotted by a sailing vessel.
Fearing that the vessel was North Korean military, the SEALs opened fire and killed around three people on board before puncturing their lungs to ensure their bodies would sink to the ocean floor.
They soon realized that the men were merely shellfish divers and quickly fled as military officials raced to cover up the fiasco which has never been reported on before.

Although the plan was elaborate and deemed very hard to pull off, the SEALs told military leadership that they believed it was achievable because they had managed a similar feat before during the presidency of George W. Bush. 

During the 2005 mission, which also not been reported upon until now, SEALs were able to use a mini-sub to sneak onto North Korean shores and leave unnoticed.

Ken Dryden, a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame whose goaltending helped the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup six times in the 1970s, and later became an author, television analyst, hockey executive and a member of Canada’s Parliament, died Friday after a battle with cancer. He was 78. “From the moment Ken Dryden joined the Montreal Canadiens as a 23-year-old rookie in 1971, he made an immediate and lasting impact on the NHL, the Canadiens franchise and the goaltending position," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. "After playing in only six regular-season games during that first year, Ken proceeded to lead his team to a Stanley Cup while winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoffs' most valuable player. It is almost incomprehensible to believe that he accomplished all of that the year prior to winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the League's best rookie in 1971-72. "Ken's early success was only a harbinger of what was to come. In eight years with the Canadiens, Ken would lead a team filled with future Hall of Famers to six Stanley Cup championships, quickly becoming a beloved figure in his adopted hometown of Montreal. He won five Vezina Trophies as the League's top goaltender, including four consecutive awards from 1975-76 to 1978-79. Named as a member of the League's Greatest 100, he was the NHL's dominant goaltender during the 1970's. "His work in hockey extended to the front office of the Toronto Maple Leafs where he served as President of the organization. Ken was also a prolific author whose works chronicled the sport including the critically-acclaimed 'The Game' and 'Home Game: Hockey and Life in Canada.' "Ken's love for his country was evident both on and off the ice. He was a key member of the 1972 Canadian Summit Series team that thrilled the entire nation with an historic win over the Soviet Union. As a member of Parliament, Ken continued to serve Canada. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. "On a personal note, Ken was a fellow Cornellian whose career ranks among the greatest runs in collegiate hockey. Ken compiled a 76-4-1 record over three years and famously led the Big Red to the 1967 NCAA Championship. "On behalf of the National Hockey League, we mourn the passing of a legendary Canadian and extend our sincere condolences to his wife Lynda, family and many friends and fans all over the hockey world."

Anyway, I see the lake, I see a man on a back hoe, hes digging a trench. Then he puts two pipes in it and covers them over. The trench goes from the LAKE to the house and front yard, it wanders here and there, I wonder what hes up to?

The next week he comes back, and hes got a front end loader and hes making the trench wider, and putting rocks along it and in it.

The next week he comes back with plants, and puts them alongside and in the trench.

The next week a whole bunch of people turn up, there is a party, much fanfare.
The man, he turns on a pump, and water fills the trench and it becomes a creek that recycles back to the lake.
A lovely babbling brook with fish, everyone claps and gets blind.

That water softener system looks to be a Kinetico, and they are great systems. Just need to regularly add salt pellets to it. They are gravity fed and use no electricity.

Very nice place. Thank you for the tour. I understand where you are coming from about the quick change in life for you both. I am 66 and feeling every bit of it all the sudden, so I get it. When the wheels start coming off then it's time to slow down and it is very hard, at least I am having trouble accepting my physical limitations after an active life. I hope you both the best and look forward for you to settle in and enjoy being "home".
