I have a rental home in Petal Mississippi just outside of Hattiesburg I've talked with the people I lease the home to but there isn't much else I can do.. I'm in Andalusia Al.. with Katrina we had lots of damage in Petal and some damage in Andalusia.. I hope and pray its nothing like that bitch Katrina!! I dont mean to be so materialistic but I really cant afford to fix that home especially since the people living there have only been paying less then 20 percent of the rent since the pandemic. Hurricane insurance is so expensive I dont carry it in that area.. I do have wind damage coverage on it but its only up to 15k.. Any more then that and I will have to cover it.

Took my old buddy outside and let him hang out for a bit. Hades is a cane corso we imported from Sicily when he was a baby. Hes seven years old and earlier this year he developed a limp in his left front leg with a lump on his ankle. We thought he had injured it in his kennel gate and his vet gave him some anti inflammatory meds. Three weeks later it wasnt better. So he had an xray and a bone sample biopsy. It was an aggressive cancer called osteosarcoma. I struggled with the right choice for what was best for him. His radiology showed no signs of it having spread to the lungs where it typically manifests after attacking the leg bones. So we had his leg amputated above the ankle in an attempt to save his life. Hes healed well and is doing great. So far so good but we keep a good eye on this. The old man still is happy go lucky and gets around like a boss on three legs. Hes a real good dog and everyone around here the neighbors and neighbors kids love this big gentle giant corso

Finally out of the emergency. Mom had a small fracture, but doctor said it was in the best place. So no surgery needed. Gonna be in a cast for awhile though !!

I recieved an email from Rep John Carter here in my state. Its a mass email he sends out to supporters but he sums up a lot of what we all feel I think. .it reads as follows.

Dear Texan,

It is a very sad time for America.

The terrorist attacks in Kabul that have resulted in the loss of over a dozen of our troops signify the single most deadly day for American service members in Afghanistan in the last decade. Thirteen military families across our nation are receiving the worst news anyone can imagine and my heart is heavy for them. The service members who laid down their lives to protect their fellow Americans will always be remembered as heroes.

Erika and I offer our sincerest condolences to those military families, and we are praying for the swift healing of the men and women that were injured in the Kabul terrorist attack.

America is the greatest nation in the world. The men and women that wear the uniform are brave and supremely capable, and I am confident they will not be deterred from their mission. For the past several weeks, they have worked immensely hard to get Americans and our allies out of Afghanistan in the face of grave danger. Their success is solely due to their own fortitude.

Im too inexperienced in politics and life to have a weighted say, but from what I'm observing these politicians seem to serve one purpose which is to be symbolic. They acknowledge things and they become widely recognized truth, they do speeches pledging revenge and accountability. But whose doing the leg work? The state department puts out a release that they were relying on the taliban to provide exterior security to the airport. They didn't name any generals, or state employees that authorized that. Everyones saying impeach biden but for what purpose? Was Kabul really an error of negligence? Is it possible these highly educated masses of officers could perform so poorly? They made another statement that intelligence provided stated the taliban had no intentions of moving in on Kabul during withdrawals. Did every single person take this at face value? I dont know what happened or was said behind those closed doors. It just feels like were being lied to, and it definitely cannot be as simple as electing another symbol of power. People died over this. And its not the first time this had happened to our countrymen when sent overseas. Sometimes I just wish I knew what was really going on, but not in some whacky conspiracy way.. just like, why these things happen.

I used to cringe a bit when I heard anyone refer to Democrats as Don did, not anymore. I grew up in Southeast Missouri where there were more pictures of donkeys in restaurants than former presidents.
