Hello Friday nighters! We are in Ottawa….. Illinois that is! Tina’s feeling a bit better but she went to bed around 2115 and I’m in the other room with TV on and Fruit 🍎 Pad fully charged. We’ll be going to Matthiessen State Park near Starved Rock, the Rock will be busy tomorrow, Matthiessen, not so much. Colors are not at peak but hope to see and get some picks. Heading over to our wine club in Utica for our wine pick up. We have not been here since mid November 2021. Ok I’ll shut up and stand by…… enjoy your time no matter what your doing! 👍🇺🇸

Suggest Diane make clam chowder! That was a mainstay at our deer camps years ago when my Mom was still with us. She would make several large batches and used cast. Iron pot. Damn I miss her and the food she’d make my hunting buddies. We all bought cheap pop up campers and is was like a Western movie with wagons circled!

Don thanks for shooting that drone footage and giving us an aerial tour. I love seeing and hearing how you've maintained and developed the property, and the work you've done with the impoundments sounds like it's really going to pay off for you. Thanks for documenting the process I can tell it was thankless and grueling and a massive bitch, but it must be nice to just see it work and keep the other fields saltwater free. Have you shot a video of it in action working? Your vertical pipe solution to dumping the tide fill was awesome--simple physics and gravity. I'm on one acre and early summer I went to town on some nasty ass brush overgrowth with a simple Brazilian machete so my chickens can get down to the bottom corner of our property. Blackberries, privets, Smilax vines, all kinds of shit--easy mode compared to your impoundments work. Broke the job up into quadrants and killed it in four days keeping it all manageable as it was a one man job. Not much to look at but I had take a pic when I was done. All of this beyond the three new trees and in front of the red gate before was impenetrable brush and Smilax and you couldn't find the ground much less see the fence line.

I grew up outside in the swamps and woods next to the train yards, We hunted, fished and swam thru the windows of old cars at the bottom of deep pools. In the winter we played hockey on the frozen channels of water along the tracks. We'd light a fire at both ends so to see the goals. Somebody always bought a beer or two from our fathers and we'd share them and then catch a slow moving freight train home. You can hear the sense of purpose and love of the land in Dons voice. I do like these narrated arial videos most of all. A simple life has great rewards.

I grew up outside in the swamps and woods next to the train yards, We hunted, fished and swam thru the windows of old cars at the bottom of deep pools. In the winter we played hockey on the frozen channels of water along the tracks. We'd light a fire at both ends so to see the goals. Somebody always bought a beer or two from our fathers and we'd share them and then catch a slow moving freight train home. You can hear the sense of purpose and love of the land in Dons voice. I do like these narrated arial videos most of all. A simple life has great rewards.

Hello good people……. Tina’s can’t shake her bug, stuffy head and chest congestion. Doc gave her some meds to help with the symptoms. We are supposed to go away to Starved Rock State Park tomorrow for the weekend, playing it by ear.
