When I first heard about this, I wondered why they are insisted in combining the men and women in these experiments.
If they feel, for whatever reason, that women would be successful in these areas and it is so necessary to test it out, why not have complete, separate all female training units for these experiments? They could keep all of the same requirements and standards without the disruption of mixes classes. My guess would be that the program would not be successful because the women in the mixed classes who are successful draw a lot of motivation from their male counterparts. As unpopular as my opinion may be, I believe the females who make it through these experiments are only successful because they were surrounded by males. The females performance is increased, at the risk of degrading the males performance.

Is there a reason they don't do this, rather than forcing mixed units?

Read article yesterday on top news that Marines have a very hard training course where basically all of the woman asked for a D.O.R. along with many of the woman stating they could never pass and would never attempt this training course again. Of the male marines who entered this training course believing woman should have chance to train with them, during training most of men changed therein minds stating woman would jeporidize there lives as they are a liability due to the basics that separate men from woman. So reality is there..they just join to be the Jane Fonda's of the military and and turn our mighty combat forces into the cooking show. It's a orientation not a choice???? Munch.

That shit don't work for Uncle, Sams, Misguided, Children. The women train separate and do their thing...Nothing against any female but in case no one has noticed there is an inherent difference between men and women. And that is just the nature of things. Been on many force marches with WMs with full kit and weapons and I have yet to see a female who can make it. We always ended up humping their gear while they rode in the bus. Dont get me wrong there were a few dudes on the buss and we dealt with them but the difference in strength and stamina and mental fortitude really comes into play here. We had some females who could run some serious distance in PT gear, put on the boots, utes and full kit and you saw the real deal. Not a hater just telling it like I know it to be. As a black guy i totally agree with the Shipley's here and particularly Don's quick comment about drown proofing. If you can't swim or can't pass the drown proofing test then-- to damned bad! It has nothing to do with race; it has to do with keeping yourself and your friends alive while you're out there on the battle field or in the water. I'm so sick and tired of this need to water down standards just to appease a group of people, gender or race. Whenever you decided to wage war in a politically correct manner you have already conceded defeat.

I was afraid for my kids some when they were young but as they get older my wife and I raised them to hunt, fish, be very knowledgeable and good with guns and rifles and to respect there elders and love there country. We made it as they can hold there own and will never be sitting in the back of the bus. Mr. Shipley to me is just like Ryan Zinke of Montana.
