Thank you for the insight. I have friends still connected with the IDF in one way or the other. Good friend just retired at 49 as a Captain and Commander of a Merkava MR4 tank. His oldest Daughter just went in a few months ago and he has another Daughter that will be eligible soon. Of course he isn't letting on what his status is, but I have a feeling that with his knowledge and experience he probable will be called back. Fortunately they live around Haifa which is northern Israel and far away from Gaza, however with Hezbollah lurking, they could conceivably be in danger. I know that they had to utilize the bomb shelters there a few years ago and he said that they had shrapnel and ball bearings in the streets. Really hope that the situation remedies itself and the people of Gaza run Hamas out. Interesting Hebrew word, Hamas in Hebrew means violence. Really wish I could join them in Israel, but I turn 70 next week and my hard living days are raising their ugly heads.

The Australian Govt has announced it is sending Troops to the ME "to protect Australians" which is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. The result will be more Terrorist attacks in Australia. Australia has about 10,000 Combat troops on a good day. Sending a couple of hundred troops is pointless and counter productive. Its not our fight and I am just disgusted our woke left wing Govt has made this decision.

What scares me the most these days ... is the kind of young men that our respected military officials have too work with in training these kind of young mindset people ... I want so much to believe they are the kind of people I was in 1981 when I went through boot camp ... but I feel that just isn't the case ... recruitment is at an all time low and from what I see on the streets ... that scares the hell out of me ..for the future of our military ..I want to believe so much that I am wrong about this ..
