Over 30 years ago I had a run in with a new city cop who was claiming to be a combat Vietnam veteran. Back in those days nobody knew about PTSD. I had some anger problems back then but for the most part that anger only came out when I'd get super pissed about something. It was Labor Day and big parade day. I went to where the parade started and there was an American Legion food trailer selling hotdogs, I knew some of the veterans that were gathered around the food trailer telling stories. One was this new cop. He made a comment that he was an officer in Nam and was in charge of south Vietnamese soldiers. I listen to him tell how he did the hiring and the firing of the soldiers. He, not knowing I was a Nam vet I asked him what he did when he would fire one. He said he took them in to the jungle and put a bullet in their head. I laughed at him and told him he was full of shit. Make a long story short. He had been in the Army during Vietnam but never left the United States. He would ride the tail of my car until I was out of the city limits just for harassment. He pissed me off more than once and the two of us did not like one another. A little over a year as a city cop, he was arrested and charged with hitting his girl in the face with the butt of a shotgun. After that incident, it came out around town he had never been to Vietnam. Never saw him again

Hello good people! Tina has what they are calling her final surgery tomorrow morning 9am. Doc says she’s doing very well compared to how she arrived at Northwestern late last Saturday night. Don she gonna be fine. First 24h after the surgery they are still a bit out. Years back when Sky went through little surgeries weekly I picked her up just few hours after and most of the time she was sleeping for the first 24h. Especially after major surgery the vet will give her strong painkillers. I hope everything will go as planned.

I watched a bit of the Johnny Depp trial today. WOW!!! How can anyone stand to listen to him talk in 3 or 4 worded sentences. It's like listening to audio with a skip in the recording. All I wanted to do was slap him and say speak up.

I just got a love note from the IRS saying they did not receive my 2018 filing
and I need to fix this.
I got a hold of my tax guy and he shows me the W2s and 2018 return signed and sent.
I got a hold of the bank and they showed me a withdrawal for a cashiers check addressed to the US Treasury which went with the return for tax year 2018 dated APR 2019 WHICH WAS CASHED by the way.
Your thoughts ? Mine are loaded with foul language so I thought Id let it simmer before exploding.

Any news on the fatality, and one in critical condition after Hell week in Feb? Both inflicted with a "unknown illness". It's been 2 months, and I still can't find a source with a cause. I'm sure they were mandated with the Covid vaccine. Wonder if Myocarditis played a part.

I remember how it felt taking Red (my cat) to the vet when he was sick as shit. Mostly an outdoor cat, and he got into something that really messed him up. It was during that lockdown and a vet tech walked up to the car to get the animal, then you wait. He was there that day and the next. Man it was tough letting them take him, but it saved his life!

The Grandkids all made it over for the weekend lots of fun. Our little dog sorta perked up he has not eaten for days. Today was the worst took him to the vet Inoperable cancer had to put him to sleep. Big Red is a total wreck.

They certainly did that but the idea you get to the top 2 pay grades (there were only 7 when WWII started) after a couple years in a combat outfit probably didn't.

Don I hope the surgery went okay🙏 Its very difficult to leave them overnight but ive learned that at least they can be monitored for a night. It still drove me insane. As i stated another post, I found You and Diane only because I've met 2 former Marines who claimed Spec Ops and and many other things and I thought wow, you were in Vietnam, you fought, you're a complete hero, why pump up your story?  Left me scratching my head.  Diane, slow down its dangerous to speed!

I ran across a fellow promoting Amazon novels on Facebook using a close-up photo of a dorked-up Navy ribbon rack beneath a SEAL trident on what appears to be a white officer's uniform. He isn't making any outlandish personal claims, just promoting military fiction (Rambo type stuff but from a Navy SpecOps perspective). He has a good number of titles available and is quite popular on Amazon. The first paragraph of an excerpt he shared made it obvious to me that he had never served (at least not for any significant duration) and had no real idea the kinds of characters he was presenting, but man, it sure sounded a lot like the phonies you find here! They must be reading his fiction and taking cues? The passage went something like, "The country needs you. The President has hand selected you, as you are the only man capable of handling such a mission. Don't embarrass the President. If you do, we will deny your existence," or something along those lines. Fun for the masses, I'm sure, though the inaccuracies are annoying. He could at least have used a photo of a squared-away ribbon rack, especially with that trident above it. Such is life.

Even R Lee Ermey wasn't a Gunny Sergent, he was a staff sergeant (E-6) when he medically retired.(and he didn't make E6 twice).
The Commandant of the Marine Corps gave him an honorary promotion to gunnery sergeant (E-7) as a show promotion but it was in 2002 long after his acting career was well established.
