BECAUSE NOT ONLY DID HE BUY 75-80% WITH HIS OWN MONEY THAT HE WORKED HIS ASS OFF WITH ME TO GET...... BUT HE ALSO IS INTO HUNTING, FISHING, WEAPONS AND SHOOTING JUST LIKE HIS FATHER! HE HAS BEEN TAUGHT AT A EXTREMELY YOUNG AGE ABOUT GUN SAFETY, PROTOCALL AND YES RESTRAINT! In a telegram received yesterday from the War Department, by Mrs. Leota Harbit, 1532 ½ Main Street. She learned that her son, Pfc. Garner E. Harbit, of the Marine Corps, had been killed in action. The telegram read as follows: We deeply regret to inform you that your son, Pfc. Garner E. Harbit, died of wounds received in action in performance of his duty and service of his country. Remains buried at sea. To prevent possible aid to our enemies, do not divulge the name of his ship. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. Letter will follow. General A. A. Vandergrift; Marine Corps.
