Wishing you both a Happy New Year! Thanks for letting us share in your lives. Don hope you order that .410 Auto I can’t recommend it enough! I have this belief that everyone should give themselves a gift of firearm every Christmas! Then load up on shells! Buy some I think called PDX self defense shells etc have 3 double ought and 2 “discs”. Mainly used in a pistol like Taurus judge the .410/.45 long Colt pistols. My son’s favorite. Regardless hope to see a “year in review” from you with a few of your stories. May 2023 bring you and Diane much joy!

Concerning the ice, with your experience with demo, don’t you still have some packed away “Just in case?”. 😂
I broke up a completely out of control party one year thrown for a guy who had just gotten back from Ranger training in Panama. I can tell this story now because obviously it’s been a LONG while ago.
We were sitting in my Wife and my place talking to a buddy. When we hear a bunch of god awful noise coming from the apartments south of us. Tires burning and screeching, loud drunken screams and laughter and more. “Damn it man! It’s too late for this!”. So my buddy and I hopped into his vehicle and I dug out an artillery simulator that had walked away from a training session. Being dark the partiers never saw the simulator drop out of the window when we drove bye😂. Needless to say when the scream intended to simulate a round incoming started the party suddenly quieted down for a millisecond or so before the brilliant white flash made even brighter bye the late night hour happened and the sound took over literally everything. Every possible law enforcement officer in the area showed up to investigate. They even had the State Highway Patrol send a unit. The fire department showed up and dispatch started receiving 911 calls from area residents. Where we were staying, the town had a refinery and units were sent to make sure nothing had blown up out there.
Law Enforcement showed up at the apartment of the man who the welcome back from Panama party was in honor of. He was drunk beyond normal and the Officers were asking him what’s going on? Him being super drunk started babbling that he had heard the explosion and told the Officers that he was afraid that someone had gotten into the case if grenades he had upstairs in his apartment. His buddies told the Officers that he had just gotten back from Panama and thought that he was still in training and because he was so drunk he “thought” he had grenades fut was just babbling. In actuality he did have a case of grenades that somehow had walked away!😱 Luckily for him, the Officers believed his buddies.
The incident made the front page of the local newspaper next day and again the second day.
There’s some things one simply doesn’t talk about for many years and this is one of those things. 40 years ago this would have gotten a few of us in Federal trouble 😁.

I worked in the HVAC trade for 40+ yrs. If people could look into the kitchens they buy food from ,they would swear off takeout, and most dine-in. I could tell some blood curtling stories of what I've found in coolers and behind stuff. Food that looks like it was prepared during the civil war and left to mature since. Never been in a Chick fillet but will say most Mickey D's are preety clean. They design their kitchens to move the equiptment for cleaning. Sadly most Mom and Pop places are barely sanitary enough for flies to visit. Most restaurants only move and clean behind stuff when they think the health inspector is due. My family just moans when they ask about eating at some place and I give them the real news about their favorite eatery. But on the other hand, how long has it been since you emptied and cleaned your equipment.? Do you have a tub of mystery meat in your fridge.

Senior Chief (totally random thought here): one of the times you mentioned the Colonel and the Captain reminded me of Radar the Corporal Captain on the M*A*S*H episode where the B.J. Hunnicutt character was introduced. I can't help but wonder whether you've run across any Corporal Captain phonies or other true oddballs besides that Navy Sergeant and the Coast Guard General? HA! That foolishness aside, you and Diane don't have too much fun at those traffic signals, or you'll end up having to go back for more! Have a great day, you two, and a Happy New Year!

I spent 5-6 years watching what I call the amateur Martin & Lewis. Soda pop flying outta my nose because the Shipley's have legit comic timing. I absolutely love this married couple but my heart flipped after seeing D. J. Shipley talk about his years on Seal team. The phonies Don Sr. Speaks about .. let me shamelessly interject I was in the Navy. I NEVER MET A SEAL. Even spent months at a Special training base in Ft. Devens,MA. Rangers, Devil Dogs, Recon, Airborne. Just never meet Special warfare operators...Ya. Just don't. The toughest military 🎖️ training and every gas station attendant. Wanting to steal that valor. Not just from Warfare operators but every Veteran. Than we have Sr. Chief. His BP is outta control. You guys still lie to him and he's getting no younger. We don't wanna lose those we love so please Stop all this. Just be happy being a BT. That's thankless hard work. Your Shipmates respect ya,ll. It's 1 working machine. Peace n hair grease!!!

Remember when I was out of town for a while and go to a roadside country kitchen, and tell the waitress, burn the toast and eggs, and spill the coffee on my lap, I'm homesick...

I have worked kitchens a large part of my life, now never fast food, but with Sundays at Chic-Fila thing, One of my better bosses who had all of his restaurants closed on Sundays, always just said that it is a quality of life standard.

And it really is, there is nothing more demoralizing than waking up and knowing that while everyone else's weekend is winding down and a nice Lazy Sunday is in toe you are dragging your sorry ass back into work, especially back when I drank.
I've recently been trying to transition into working for the City of Cincinnati Water Works as a Treatment Plant Operator and while it is swing shift work at least there is a rotation. Well enough about me....
But please treat service industry people kindly.

Not surprised Chick-fil-a would have such high hygiene standard. I just wish they would bring back that chicken bagel breakfast sandwich. It was practically the only thing I ever ate there.

Thanks for the video Don and Diane. Made me smile. I feel your pain driving with my lady. With all do respect Diane. She doesn't read the lights or traffic ahead. Mostly I clamp my trap but sometimes I got to say pay the F attention. Never ends well. Hope Everyone is having a good evening.

Great video. My great grandfather always told us a true gentleman has a knife in one pocket and a handkerchief in the other pocket. He was a cowboy and a rancher. At least I have always had a pocket knife in my pocket.
