I kept a beautiful St. Johns river freshwater / brackish stingray in my 180 gallon for a short period. D. Sabina is the latin name I believe. Beautiful fish, easily the coolest I've ever had. Unfortunately, they are a menace on the St. Johns river in Florida, a real pest, like the invasive plecos that are fucking with the sandbeds of so many of our southern rivers. Anyway, the ray's barb is incredibly painful and has poison, but yeah, Don's right... if you don't fuck with it, or surprise it and scare it, it won't mess with you. Supposedly the story is Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter surprised a huge ray from swimming over its head and was in his blind spot. This was a monster ray, not a manta ray, but fucking huge. He got impaled in the chest and it was a kill shot. Even if they had medical technicians and all the equipment needed on the boat to save, he was a goner. It was a beautiful fish and easily tamed. He'd come to the top of the tank and I'd handfeed him thawed shrimp.

Well the month of glorious autumn weather albeit no rain is ending. -2 tonight. The farmers are dry seeding as the soil moisture content is the lowest on record since records began here n 1900. So sew and wait is what they do. Brings a mouse plague tho. Not an inch of rain this year so it must be coming in June July or its not coming at all. Chick Peas are up to 1100 USD a tonne in India. They have none their crops failed so they have removed the Tariff on Aussie peas for 12 months. Its up from 800 a tonne. Wheat and such is about 400 a tonne so a lot of money to be made if it rains
If Don is reading do a field of chick peas they better than Chufa for the birds I am told. They eat all stages of the crop. From sprouts to old seed left on the ground. Dont need much water can handle salt.

I toured in the concert lighting business for 12 years and when you live on a tour bus for 9 months out of the year a lot of you become family. It used to be the only time we ever got back together was when some passed away. That has now changed and we try and do reunions every 2 years or so. Stay in touch with your true friends, they are hard to come by and may not be here tomorrow. Keep up the good work you two! Buzz

Just getting home from Matty O'Shea's, took mom out for supper. She likes to go there so she can be around the younger crowd. Try getting a license for fire arms in Massachusetts. They make it so damn hard. I took my class all the way over in Paxton. I paid my money X2. I passed the CORI backround check. I explained to the state 4 times why I live in Pittsburgh and my wife and daughter live in Massachusetts. Yes, I live in two places right now. I am taking care of her dad and the both of us will be moving up there soon. I FINALLY found 3 references which was hard because Massachusetts is FULL of liberal anti gun people. I then took another class because Holden doesn't offer classes anymore. The police detective visited my house unannounced up there in Holden. The Holden police are working on their backround check at the moment because the state CORI check I guess wasn't enough for them. All I have to do is get a live fire certificate and meet the chief of police in Holden. This is taking many months. Like 5.

Nice video Don and Diane. I got hit by a stingray at least 25 years ago. Wasn't grab assing with him. Sitting in the surf watching bikinis walk by and he must of buried in the sand right by my leg. Wasn't a real big one but cut me pretty good. They have a poison as well. That was the fun part. Hurt like hell for a good long while. Enjoy your striper that's a great eating fish

Just getting home from Matty O'Shea's, took mom out for supper. She likes to go there so she can be around the younger crowd. The owner is a Canadian Army veteran, I haven't been able to meet her yet. She mostly lets staff run the day to day operations. I was able to snap a picture of her shadow box that hangs proudly on the wall. If you look at it as you read left to right. Her first medal is The General Campaign Star and is issued to members of the Canadian Armed Forces and allied forces working with the CAF who deploy into a defined theatre of operations to take part in operations in the presence of an armed enemy. The second medal is The General Service Medal which is awarded to members of the CAF and allied forces who deploy outside of Canada to provide direct support in the presence of an armed enemy. The third medal is The Canadian Forces Decoration, created in 1949, recognizes completion of 12 years of good service in the Canadian Armed Forces. The Canada patch indicates she held the rank of Sargent. I'm hoping to run into her so I can ask about all the coins and other items in her shadow box. One badass lady...🍁

Try getting a license for fire arms in Massachusetts. They make it so damn hard.
I took my class all the way over in Paxton.
I paid my money X2.
I passed the CORI backround check.
I explained to the state 4 times why I live in Pittsburgh and my wife and daughter live in Massachusetts. Yes, I live in two places right now. I am taking care of her dad and the both of us will be moving up there soon.
I FINALLY found 3 references which was hard because Massachusetts is FULL of liberal anti gun people.
I then took another class because Holden doesn't offer classes anymore.
The police detective visited my house unannounced up there in Holden.
The Holden police are working on their backround check at the moment because the state CORI check I guess wasn't enough for them.
All I have to do is get a live fire certificate and meet the chief of police in Holden.
This is taking many months. Like 5.
Are there any Massachusetts residents here on Dons site that have a license to carry or MA police officers?
This is absolutely ridiculous.
Why are there endless hoops in Massachusetts? Well, yeah, I know it's an extremely liberal state, but has it always been this hard? This is why I posted those videos below. I was looking up MA firearm laws.

He is accused of training pilots from China when taking a contact for civilian aviation training in South Africa. Held for over a year.

Nice video Don and Diane. I got hit by a stingray at least 25 years ago. Wasn't grab assing with him. Sitting in the surf watching bikinis walk by and he must of buried in the sand right by my leg. Wasn't a real big one but cut me pretty good. They have a poison as well. That was the fun part. Hurt like hell for a good long while. Enjoy your striper that's a great eating fish
