In the old days you had to sell a publisher on your ideas to get your book added to the stacks. Today? The internet is the library, and all you need is WIFI to have your every THOUGHT "published" for the world to see. Am I interested in combating that? Better I spend my time holding back high tide with a push broom, I'll get more accomplished. Not EVERY "Stolen Valor DUMBASS" is a PHONY. The stolen valor community, like EVERY community, has its tiers, and they include the phonies, but also the mouthbreathers that are really not a LOT "better" than the phonies. They are bored, shit stirring losers with a LOT of time on their hands. So they seek the attention and acknowledgement of the industry experts by trying to bring the experts asses they can kick. Because they are only a rung or two from the phony themselves, they cannot imagine why what they are doing is a problem. They lack any discernment, so they cannot see that they are not appreciated, in fact, they are as much a problem as the phony himself. Anyone that has ever had REAL firearms training will tell you that while they do not want any laws passed to prohibit EVERYONE having guns, they DO agree, well, not EVERYONE should. We've ALL seen them. Desperate for inclusion, can't wait to "pack heat," fidgitting in the movie theater and POW a .40 cal through the nutsack. Well, the INTERNET is, unfortunately, another potentially hazardous thing we should ALL have access to, buuuuuuuuuut REALLY there are some that just shouldn't. If only intelligent, normal, productive and SINCERE people had internet access? hahahaha well, the system would be so small, it would be worthless to the planet.

I don't think they really care about stolen valor. Not the one's Don is referring to in this video. Have you noticed how many people are "Digital Creators?" "Influencers?" MANY of these are people seeking relevance. Its a BIG BADASS DIGITAL WORLD out there, and its moving FAST, and all they know is they want to get IN ON IT!! A LOT of these people lack any real expertise in ANYTHING that would give them a legitimate following in the digi-world; so what do they do? PICK SOMETHING!!! They give a wet shit about stolen valor. If they were not chasing grandpa through the hardware store screaming at him over his USMC hat, they'd be home looking at another loser holding a camera, a laundry pod in one hand saying "Okay, we have to get this the first time, I don't want to have to eat more than one of these." It isn't NEW, settling for being a spectacle or a JOKE in life; its as old as the first crowd on a corner. My advice? If you were NOT in that branch, don't wear it. Why? Because it just is not worth dealing with this BS. Are they WRONG? Well, OF COURSE they are WRONG!!! But that will not stop them, and YOU, unlike them, have better shit to spend your time on.

Great advice Don. We have a phony in the family wood pile (an in-law) and that is what brought me to this site. A couple of things I have learned from my experience with a phony is that they are liars, and liars are bullies, and like any bully when you call them out they back down. The other thing is all of the combat vets in the family hardly ever if ever talked about their combat experiences.
