We're honoring Sergeant Major John L. Canley, a legendary U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient.
During the fierce Battle of Hue in the Vietnam War from January 31 to February 6, 1968, as a Gunnery Sergeant with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, he took command after his company commander was wounded. Under intense enemy fire, he repeatedly exposed himself to danger to rescue wounded Marines, carry them to safety, and lead assaults that cleared fortified positions, saving numerous lives.
His valor was first honored with the Navy Cross, but in 2018, President Trump presented him with the Medal of Honor—making him the first living Black Marine to receive our nation's highest award for heroism.
Canley went on to serve three tours in Vietnam, rising through the ranks before retiring as a Sergeant Major in 1981. His dedication and courage continue to inspire generations

First week of summer, first bushfire an hour up the road heading this way. Very windy today gusting 80 mph and about 100f. Two planes are bombing it now and theres another dozen or so on the way.
Flat rolling hills, cereal crops, started during harvest, too hot to be doing that, yesterday was a total fire ban so they couldnt work. Today its worse than yesterday but no fire ban, fucking mental cases up here.

This creep reminds me about this guy who was a DSP at my program when I first started going and he claimed to be a Marine. He was touching the women patients inappropriately (myself included) and told us he killed many people in Iraq and wasn't afraid to do it to us if we told. This went on for a while and finally he was caught doing it to a woman with cerebral palsy so the worker called the police. He was arrested and it turned out he was never a Marine. Never even went to boot camp. He only got three years in prison but he's a felon now and has to register as a Sex Offender for life. I still have nightmares about it and that was 10 years ago.

What a joke. These guys are in boot camp, they were horsing around and are getting kicked out? I keep hearing silly stories about boot camp for all of the services these days. Air Force was always a bullshit game, but flicking nipples gets you booted? I remember we had a few guys that would kick each other in the shins as a contest to see who would give up (which is a stupid game, that shit hurts).

But on the boat? We had the "cobra attack" on JOs and non-quals that came into the radio/ESM shack. It was a big ass swingline stapler that we would open up and smack guys with that we didn't really want in there. Sometimes you needed the staple puller to get them out of your hand/arm/leg/shoulder. The captain came in one time and even said "I'm immune to Cobra venom" when one of the radiomen was working on stapling the messages for the message boards. LOL

The day before our shellback initiation, we stole the captain's stateroom door and hid it in the fan room. He posted the COB as sentry, COB lost his shit and had everyone field day until the door showed back up. Skipper shut that down and put the COB back to his stateroom doorway.

We taped people up to the piping in the overhead using EB Green.

Shoved people in the voids and would block them in.

Dit-dot bomb people by taping a picture of a dick from a smut mag above where their head would be with dit-dots piled above it, so that they all dump on him when he pulls it down.

I used the megger to zap a shit-bag's toes that was bragging about being bound to his rack by DOC during a TRE workup week. He shot up and smacked his head on the torpedo ram and knocked himself out. That shit was the best story of that underway.

The COB that came on board ahead of the Med run in 98 left his Harley Davidson coffee mug in SINS after he was done smoking a cigarette, so I sat in ESM and put 2 rolls of EB Green tape on it and gave it to our NUB to hang up in control during the watch change out. The COB spent the next 6 hours unwrapping his missile hazard and laughing while standing Dive Officer. Best COB we ever had!

NONE OF THOSE GOT ANYONE IN TROUBLE!

In the past 10 years I have seen two of the best officers I have known get relieved of their commands because someone on their boat was busted for hazing. Both were on trident boats, one wasn't even his crew. One was out of GA and the other was a west coast boat. Relieve the CAPTAINS for some horsing around by the crew. ON boats that you're literally stuck out in the middle of the ocean at depth for MONTHS at a time, doing what has been done for generations.

I had a very vague memory of hearing about this, grab or pinch a nipple and twist it for extra pain.
Nobody I was around actually did it as far as I know (or remember), just remember hearing about it.  

It's the sort of thing that's more tweeny or pre-teen, Frankly, it sounded sort of "gay" before I even really knew what that meant. 😊

The idea of a psych evaluation, "rape threat" and other stuff doesn't make any sense. It's like two different stories that don't go together.

Maybe they tried to turn a "titty twister" into male on male "sexual assault" which it sort of is but back when I was early teen/preteen nobody thought of 11 or 12 year olds as having sexual intent.

I attended and graduated Navy SERE in Brunswick Maine in 1978. Proud to have done it, but there are some things you only need to do once. I considered going back to be an instructor, but that meant having to go back through as an instructor under training.
Not something I wanted to do again.

In 1977 at AF BMT, we had a guy last name "NICKEL." He made a move on one of the guys the shower. We all already suspected the guy was gay. He pretty much got his ass handed to him in the shower but was not reported to the TI. SO couple days later, one night we all taped his gay ass to his bunk, spread vaseline all over him and put nickels all over him. All hell broke lose the next morning when the drill Instructors showed uop. LOng story short, he got discharged.
