Don, it is dangerous to let the dogs in the bed of the pickup, sir. no matter how careful, someone can hit you and hurt your dogs.

In the direct path of this bitch Irma. Oh well, this is what you get when you live in Florida. Got a whole house standby generator with a great bit propane tank buried in the yard to run the whole house for over a week. Roof is specially anchored for 185+ winds and house is rated at 150+ before any damage happens. Automatic roll and accordion shutters-guess I'm staying.

I talked to my folks a couple of hours ago. they live near West Palm Beach and about 500 ft from the ocean. I told my dad about the 10 foot storm surge. he said lucky for them it's not a problem. there's a 50 ft natural barrier off the Atlantic. still, I can't imagine what a CAT 5 strike will do if it hits directly. I'm glad they're sheltering at the airport where everything is built to FAA storm code. it would do a lot of damage if 185 mph winds broke through that building with 18 helicopters hangered in there. the folks will be in a safe room. prayers go out to everyone in the Caribbean who went through this massive hurricane.

Trip cancelled or postponed. No complaining here. Grateful my nephew is in Illinois with his new Mom and Dad and no longer in Haiti.
