As a Engineer he met my Grandmother in a shipyard in Philadelphia. She was a draftsman. He was her Boss.... The shipyard made vessels for the war. RIP Granddaddy.

The Remembrance Day service has concluded. It was a proud moment for me when I laid the wreath. I couldn't help but think of my great uncle Pat today. My grandmother's brother, he always wanted to be called by his middle name. Pat was killed in action in WWII. He died in Louvigny, in the Normandy region in Northwestern France. My grandmother Henderson was an Armour before she married, Mary Armour...🍁

It was 1968 and I had the opportunity to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday with a single marine.We were both on the beach and by ourselves, in a bar in Rota, Spain. I decided to inquire why he was dressed up for a night on the beach. Marine Corps birthday. It was late, like 0300 late He mentioned that he was hungry and would have to wait for breakfast. I took him back to the boat.He was a bit leary about going back to a submarine. Got him settled in the chow hall and we had breakfast at 0400 . Bacon/sausage/eggs and hot out of the oven bread and butter.We celebrated the birthday with a freshly made doughnut with a single candle and a couple of guys to help sing Happy Birthday. Sadly I don't remember his name all these years later, but I still wish him and the Corps Happy Birthday one and ALL I got razzed about this for awhile, but I know that anyone of these guys would have done the same thing.
Well, at the hospital, Nurses told me I passed the Colonoscopy test, guess Doc wants to give me my grade or some shit,,, naturally I’m an hour fuckin early to my appointment

Trying to get her to sign a power of attorney, that's almost as bold as it gets for a lonely hearts club or dating scam. Those scams have been going on forever, I heard about that happening to people as a kid (maybe 30 years before everybody was on the internet).
Scams in the remote or postal/pen-pal versions of dating clubs go back before the 5 cent stamp. You would think by now everybody would be aware in the modern information age. Instead, it seems on-line dating made it easier for the scammers.

It was 1968 and I had the opportunity to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday with a single marine.We were both on the beach and by ourselves, in a bar in Rota, Spain. I decided to inquire why he was dressed up for a night on the beach. Marine Corps birthday. It was late, like 0300 late He mentioned that he was hungry and would have to wait for breakfast. I took him back to the boat.He was a bit leary about going back to a submarine. Got him settled in the chow hall and we had breakfast at 0400 . Bacon/sausage/eggs and hot out of the oven bread and butter.We celebrated the birthday with a freshly made doughnut with a single candle and a couple of guys to help sing Happy Birthday. Sadly I don't remember his name all these years later, but I still wish him and the Corps Happy Birthday one and ALL I got razzed about this for awhile, but I know that anyone of these guys would have done the same thing.

Trying to get her to sign a power of attorney, that's almost as bold as it gets for a lonely hearts club or dating scam.
Those scams have been going on forever, I heard about that happening to people as a kid (maybe 30 years before everybody was on the internet).
Scams in the remote or postal/pen-pal versions of dating clubs go back before the 5 cent stamp.
You would think by now everybody would be aware in the modern information age. Instead, it seems on-line dating made it easier for the scammers.
