Dear oh dear, I can't believe that this family fell for this scam!!! The internet is full of stories about these scammers and this family sound just so naive. I suppose I envy their innocent view of the world but to keep on clutching at pieces of information regarding this scammer does appear to indicate they haven't grasped that they have been scammed and the money is GONE!!!!

They also go after older/middle-aged ladies (big story in AARP). My coworker got scammed by "an engineer working in Africa." No phone, of course. They're always on their way to see you and "get on accident on the way to the airport." Just low.
