Three times a year, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and October 26, I stop and remember five guys in my squadron that made the ultimate sacrifice. They were forced to ditch their P-3C Orion in the frigid Bering Sea on 26 OCT 1978 to avoid risking what was sure to become an engine fire that would have killed the 15 member crew.
Today I'm remembering Airman (AWAN) Richard Garcia, radar op, who was 19 years old from my hometown of San Jose, California. We had a lot in common and were becoming friends when this awful event happened. "Thank you, Rich" just doesn't sound like enough. He and the others died too young.
Just like to wish all my good friends south of the border a happy Memorial day. Especially to all the American military service personnel. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who are serving currently and all the veterans. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

I can say I knew four on this list one worked for me and was friends with three others on the list, also went on same task force as one who was KIA right before I went to that task force.
This something to think about I knew some on this list, also three others that are on the NSW list. My point is the Military to Civiallian devide is widening today. Meaning most Military members join because others in their family have served. Something to think about the same families are Sacrificing time after time, Well the other 99% of the civilian world. Don't even know. What's going on or what sacrifice is about.
I would ask how many people actually know someone personally that has lost their lives in battle or in theater and the past twenty years. Something to think about Today.

Daughter googled this spear point it's from the late Paleo indian early Dalton period. Mostly found in N FL. Around 10000 years old. They hunted mastodons and mammoths after the last ice age. Pretty cool.

Tributes have been paid to one of the last surviving members of the original wartime SAS after his death aged 98.
Lance Corporal Alec Borrie passed away at his home in Dagenham, East London, earlier this month after suffering from pneumonia
Referred to by comrades as 'Boy' because he was just 18 when he signed up, he served under legendary SAS commander Paddy Mayne, who asked him when he joined the unit in 1944 if he liked 'killing people'.
Lance Corporal Borrie was among members of the SAS who were ordered by Winston Churchill to 'cause a nuisance' by conducting guerilla operations against the Nazis during the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the summer of 1944.
He later carried out 'Nazi hunting' operations inside Germany in April and May 1945 under Mayne's command before he was badly injured a few weeks before VE Day when his Jeep was blown up by a mine.
Lance Corporal Borrie's death means that Mike Sadler, 102, is the only surviving member of the original SAS, which was formed in 1941 by Lieutenant-Colonel David Stirling.

Here we go again. Fucking NBC world news with Lester Holt did a story on BUD/S students (Kyle Mullen) whom died of acute pneumonia. Seems as though they are blaming the program and staff. Ive never been to Coronado nor seen BUD/S students go through hell week etc... With all the stuff on the internet and the SEAL/SWCC web site that shows the guidlines are readily accessible to anyone with a computer, I would think they know what there getting into. Especially a controled environment. NBC quoted "wholly inadequate" medical program. Sad to hear a student died during training but you can take most jobs and there is an inherent risk to everything. I mean no disrespect to that students family but they should of know that a very small percentage of students will get ill etc.... I hate that they blame the military for this. Maybe there is more to the story. I hope Kevin RIP!!!

The Navy released it's report on the recent death during BUDS training. sounds like they plan to pussyify the training. It was called "hell week" for a reason. We lost a guy on my last patrol for crying to his congressman (outside of the chain of command) because he wasn't allowed to watch movies until he got qualified. He was abruptly transferred to a more suitable station. I'll give ya 3 chances to figure what state he was from. I must have been wrong when I heard the training was designed to weed out the weak and not suitable.Yes, i do feel sorry for his parents but it's not like he went into buds not knowing what was in store for him. So along with the trans training they'll get special care if they have the sniffles or feel a bit chilly.It's a different military nowdays thats for sure. His brother claims he was selected for hazing. Most guys being hazed are selected for a reason. I had a chief that just loved to walk in berthing and wake up any non quals he found sleeping. It's a cruel world out there . Shit happens.

Three times a year, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and October 26, I stop and remember five guys in my squadron that made the ultimate sacrifice. They were forced to ditch their P-3C Orion in the frigid Bering Sea on 26 OCT 1978 to avoid risking what was sure to become an engine fire that would have killed the 15 member crew.
Today I'm remembering Airman (AWAN) Richard Garcia, radar op, who was 19 years old from my hometown of San Jose, California. We had a lot in common and were becoming friends when this awful event happened. "Thank you, Rich" just doesn't sound like enough. He and the others died too young.

This something to think about I knew some on this list, also three others that are on the NSW list. My point is the Military to Civiallian devide is widening today. Meaning most Military members join because others in their family have served. Something to think about the same families are Sacrificing time after time, Well the other 99% of the civilian world. Don't even know. What's going on or what sacrifice is about.
I would ask how many people actually know someone personally that has lost their lives in battle or in theater and the past twenty years. Something to think about Today.

Tributes have been paid to one of the last surviving members of the original wartime SAS after his death aged 98.
Lance Corporal Alec Borrie passed away at his home in Dagenham, East London, earlier this month after suffering from pneumonia
Referred to by comrades as 'Boy' because he was just 18 when he signed up, he served under legendary SAS commander Paddy Mayne, who asked him when he joined the unit in 1944 if he liked 'killing people'.
Lance Corporal Borrie was among members of the SAS who were ordered by Winston Churchill to 'cause a nuisance' by conducting guerilla operations against the Nazis during the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the summer of 1944.
He later carried out 'Nazi hunting' operations inside Germany in April and May 1945 under Mayne's command before he was badly injured a few weeks before VE Day when his Jeep was blown up by a mine.
Lance Corporal Borrie's death means that Mike Sadler, 102, is the only surviving member of the original SAS, which was formed in 1941 by Lieutenant-Colonel David Stirling.

The clerk puts the budgies in a bag, and the two guys pay for the birds and leave the shop.
They get into Gerry's van and drive to 'Come-By-Chance' until they are high up on a hill, and stop at the top of a cliff with a 500-foot drop.
Dis looks like a grand place, eh?' says Gerry.
He then takes two birds out of the bag, places them on his shoulders and jumps off the cliff.
Paddy watches as his mate drops off the edge and goes straight down for a few seconds, before he hits the rocks below with a 'SPLAT!'
As Paddy looks down he shakes his head and says,

Here we go again. Fucking NBC world news with Lester Holt did a story on BUD/S students (Kyle Mullen) whom died of acute pneumonia. Seems as though they are blaming the program and staff. Ive never been to Coronado nor seen BUD/S students go through hell week etc... With all the stuff on the internet and the SEAL/SWCC web site that shows the guidlines are readily accessible to anyone with a computer, I would think they know what there getting into. Especially a controled environment. NBC quoted "wholly inadequate" medical program. Sad to hear a student died during training but you can take most jobs and there is an inherent risk to everything. I mean no disrespect to that students family but they should of know that a very small percentage of students will get ill etc....
I hate that they blame the military for this. Maybe there is more to the story. I hope Kevin RIP!!!

The Navy released it's report on the recent death during BUDS training. sounds like they plan to pussyify the training. It was called "hell week" for a reason. We lost a guy on my last patrol for crying to his congressman (outside of the chain of command) because he wasn't allowed to watch movies until he got qualified. He was abruptly transferred to a more suitable station. I'll give ya 3 chances to figure what state he was from. I must have been wrong when I heard the training was designed to weed out the weak and not suitable.Yes, i do feel sorry for his parents but it's not like he went into buds not knowing what was in store for him. So along with the trans training they'll get special care if they have the sniffles or feel a bit chilly.It's a different military nowdays thats for sure. His brother claims he was selected for hazing. Most guys being hazed are selected for a reason. I had a chief that just loved to walk in berthing and wake up any non quals he found sleeping. It's a cruel world out there . Shit happens.
