One of the funeral homes our VFW Memorial Team work with puts on a car show every year as a fundraiser for our little crew. The funds raised are enough to cover all of our uniform expenses and help us pay it forward. We've donated more than $50k locally over the past few years. The guys do about 200 services a year in all conditions. I've personally been through some ridiculous cold, heat, rain, snow and wind but it's well worth it. I just hope someone will be around to play Taps when I go.

She's a retired RN. Funny story about 6 years ago I was screened for bladder cancer. Tube down the Ol pipe etc. I didn't tell anyone about it. So the urologist was directly behind the hospital my Mom was working at. Go figure. Leaving getting a clean bill of health I was relieved and called my brother who had no idea and briefed him quickly on the deal. He asks why didn't you tell us? I said no reason for you all to worry. He asks does Mom know? Nope nobody. I said don't tell Mom she doesn't need to know. Promise? Yeah ok he says. After hanging up sitting in the parking lot 5 minutes later ring ring. Well how ironic it's my Mom calling. She says hello just thinking about you how you been? I said I'm fine and was just by your work. Oh really? Why she asks. I said I had business down there. Long moment of silence.... She doesn't have a good poker face and tried some small talk. Oh ok well love you have a great day. Still haven't told her but obviously my Bro did.

Hey everybody Diane Here! We went to visit Don's Mother and made a quick run to Annapolis for a couple of days. We bought a new GoPro that has a different format and it won't let us upload the footage for you.The main road in front of the hotel was flooded so we got re-routed or lost whatever you call it? Finally got the hell outta there and back home to a flooded 80 acres!! It's all good now and we're home safe. We appolgize and really appreciate the patience. Taxi company in Windsor is called Vets . Never heard of a taxi company unionized. Fantastic service, and people. Cars are clean , drivers speak clear english and the don't stink . It's the little things that add up . Call them again in a heart beat.
A bakery owner hires a young female clerk who likes to wear very short skirts and thong panties. One day a young man enters the store, glances at the clerk and at the loaves of bread behind the counter.

Would like a cheaper room but sick and tired of the meth addicted screaming at the top of their lungs like in Sarnia . Try my hardest to stay sober is going to be a key . Was even offered a beer last night in parking lot of the Stonecroft by a college football group . Lol . Feel good about myself and happy with yesterday's accomplishments. Oh my gosh . A prostitute with a bicycle and a shopping cart just went by 30 ft. from me coughing her head off . My heart goes out to them but I can't help them. Learned that in Sarnia . My goodness 6 homeless in 2 cups of coffee and a couple smokes . Starting to question this location . Not in the forest at the homestead anymore Toto . No hunger, got a few smokes , a clean bed and a bathroom ,and now a TV and it picks up channels . Time to try this sleep thing again. Ta ta for now .

For my One and only! ❤️🙏 Ending September which is a rough month for her. She has lost 5 family members in the ninth month including a sister, husband, son, nephew and brother throughout the years. I sent these to her at work on Thursday before I left for Champaign on business in hopes of brightening her day….. it was a meager success 👍
Sad that martial arts are getting a bad rap over these putzes. Martial Arts...and my Dad's strictness..prepared me well for my time in the service. I hate seeing these clowns with all these patches on their Gis with the headbands....anyway...

Morning . Was going to get up at 04:30 and leave at 05:00 . But fuck stick brain woke at 02:00 . Off the beer again and down to 225 lbs.Staying sober and working 10 hrs. a day and hit 200 lbs. in a month is my new personal challenge . In May of 2021 I was at Pottage La Praire Manitoba And did 39 of 40 nights . Then I was about 260 lbs, . I've learned alot about myself . Pushing myself to my limits and finding I can do it is such a confidence builder . At one time I was terrified to go to the store anticipating another death at the next intersection to let's fly across country to a strange border city and make some cash . Fuck ya . Sarnia was a border city but Windsor may be different . Detroit is just across the river . Keep my head straight , mouth shut and mind my own business. Those are things I can control . A hidden silver lining to this job is a huge new battery factory for electric cars is getting built in Windsor also . Time for a shower get dressed and load up the truck . Off on a new adventure .

Some how a U.S. tela-market scammer operates in the Air Canada web site and the plane ticket was $737 USD , over $1000 Canadian . The ambuse got me . Talked to Visa . They are aware of it . It will take a little time . Down loaded the Air Canada app and got my ticket . Got a room booked . On my way tomorrow morning . Land in Windsor 18:00 . That gives Sunday to scope out the area . Did alot of Google Maps . Thats it for now .

After undergoing hand surgery, I struggled to grip things when it mattered. I was tasked with cleaning out my late Mother and Father-in-law's house recently. To tackle this massive undertaking, I decided to hire four strong individuals. It took us 8 hours of hard work to fill two 30-yard roll-off dumpsters, each towering at 6 feet in height – keep that height in mind. Once we had successfully cleared the debris and my hired crew left, I stayed behind to do some final tidying up. The unexpected happened: I accidentally tossed my glove into one of the dumpsters. Frustrated, I had no choice but to climb over the towering containers. As I placed my foot on some cardboard, it blocked my right foot from making it over, setting off a chain of unfortunate events. Before I knew it, I was cascading backward in layout position off the top of the 6-foot tall dumpster, my weight hurtling me toward the unforgiving concrete driveway below. I landed with a painful thud, cracking a few ribs. But as if that wasn't enough, fate had one more cruel trick. My fall was interrupted by the locking mechanism of the dumpster right above my 3rd back surgery oh yeah, Throughout this ordeal, I clung to the top of the dumpster with all my might for as long as I could, desperately trying to prevent an even more catastrophic outcome i.e. smacking my head, but I blew out my thumb; apparently, it was not prepared for this sudden trial, and gave way. I'm back to square one on my thumb. It's unable to withstand any lateral stress. PS Those deep valleys are my back surgery, not ass crack SO DONT GET ALL EXCITED YOU TOFU BED WETTING HOMOs nurse made the shot

The martial arts community is filled with "self proclaimed" black belts. You really need to be careful if you want to train legitimately, whether they claim to be SEAL or not. I know a guy right now who is a fifth degree black belt, but i know how he got it...silly. There are good schools too though, just do your homework.

Re: Concerns regarding military service, etc. and opportunity to respond
Pursuant to Section 6 of the American Jujitsu Association (hereafter “AJA”) Constitution, we send this notice of concerns to Robert Lee Jones (hereafter “Jones”).
Please note that Jones has the opportunity to respond to accusations before any action is taken by the AJA Board of Directors (hereafter the “Board”). The accused party has thirty (30) days to reply in writing to the Board, stating his position in the matter along with supporting evidence. The deadline for a reply is September 5, 2023.

ACCUSATIONS IN VIOLATION OF SECTION 6 OF THE AJA CONSTITUTION: Section 6 (E): “conduct…unbecoming a martial artist” based on Jones’s: (1) fictional, unexplained, or unevidenced military claims; (2) failure to respond to multiple AJA inquiries; and (3) founding of dubious martial arts organizations mostly so he could proclaim himself “Founder” and “President” and assume high rank in them.
Section 6 (J): “illegal issuance of ranks (e.g. Shodan issuing Shodan grade)” based on Jones’s 2020 promotion of his ex-wife, Kristine, to the grade of AJA Shodan when Jones was himself an AJA Shodan and therefore unqualified to make such a promotion.
TIMELINE WITH BACKGROUND AND EVIDENCE:
May 7:
Tom Dineen noted that George Kirby had invited Jones to teach a seminar at Camp Budoshin in late September 2023, so looked up his background. Tom noticed that Jones, in an online bio, sported the well-known gold Navy SEAL pin (with eagle clutching trident and flintlock pistol) on his left lapel:
Research indicated that Tom wasn’t alone in noting Jones’s sartorial statement. More than one online group committed to exposing military imposters had compiled material that questioned Jones’s claims:
It appeared the Valor Guardians and Military Phony sites had done enough research into his background to indicate that Jones never was a SEAL. These groups also uncovered information suggesting that Jones was in the U.S. Marines in the early 1980s, where he may have gone AWOL.
Also on May 7, AJA Treasurer Harold Zeidman wrote to Tom: “...the AJA seminar I taught at this past weekend was indeed at Robert Jones’ dojo. He proudly wears a Navy SEAL hat and talks, in general terms at least, about serving as a SEAL. Until now, I had no reason to doubt him.”
Hence, Jones went beyond merely wearing SEAL gear; he claimed to have been a SEAL to Harold and later repeated the claim when interviewed by Harold and AJA Western Regional Director Alessandro Ashanti on May 28 (see below).
CONCERN: Legitimate doubts arise about Jones’s claims of having been a SEAL.
May 25:
AJA member Dave Garcia contacted former Navy SEAL Don Shipley (BUD/S 131, SEAL Team ONE, SEAL Team TWO) and asked him to investigate Jones’s claims. Dave then forwarded Don’s reply below to Tom:
Sir,
I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams, Underwater Demolition Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named ROBERT LEE JONES. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that ROBERT LEE JONES NEVER COMPLETED SEAL TRAINING, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL or a Navy Underwater Demolition Team member.
Countless SEAL Imposters show proof of their SEAL claims in the form of SEAL Insignia (Tridents), SEAL Coins, SEAL Award Citations, and SEAL Training Graduation certificates which are unfortunately all available on-line. Numerous others get SEAL Tattoos, Photoshop their faces on SEAL Pictures and alter actual Military Discharge Papers to show SEAL service. Myriads of imposters claim the Navy removed their name from the SEAL Database when they encountered trouble during their service, and nothing could be further from the truth.
Many SEAL imposters when confronted with the information I have provided will resort to claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their SEAL Operations were classified as Secret and that there are no official records of them. Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program. The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has 'NO IMPACT' on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program.
There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.
When discovering that a person was never a SEAL, many people would like to know what that person actually did in the military or did he serve at all. For a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request of that person’s military service you should contact info&pownetwork.org and provide the necessary information. (First and Last name, a close age, a current or past address or a city or town that person lives in or has lived in).

CONCERN: Strong evidence provided that Jones never qualified as a SEAL.
May 28:
A FaceTime interview of Jones was conducted by AJA Board members Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman. Both had conducted seminars with Jones, Harold most recently in May 2023. In total, Alessandro had trained with Jones once, while Harold had done so three times.
They summarized the Jones interview as follows:
“We spoke to Robert Jones on May 28, 2023, over FaceTime regarding the allegation that his military record, specifically his claim of being a Navy SEAL, was untrue. We assured him that we were attempting to sort through the information we received from multiple sources so that we could understand the facts. Harold mentioned on many occasions that we wanted him to be able to address the accusations, even if he needed some time. He had initially asked how this came about and became annoyed when Alessandro mentioned the Board’s duty to investigate allegations.
Jones’s explanation to us was a rambling story involving several actors at play who were acting in unison in a coordinated effort to defame him. He started off saying that he has faced these accusations before and they all stemmed from one student of his who had an issue with a failing grade he received. We assumed this was the initial posting regarding the allegations of stolen valor that Tom forwarded to the Board.
Here is a paraphrasing of the story Jones provided to us:
According to Jones, this is a concerted effort by a single student who has connections of one type or another and is on the dark web. He received a failing grade in Jones’s course that the student was unsuccessful appealing. At that point information started appearing online of Jones falsely claiming he was a Navy SEAL.
Jones then reasserted to us that he had been a SEAL and that the accusations had no basis. He however refused to provide any proof of his claims to counter the accusation. He mentioned that he had four men show up at his house one evening who were somehow in cahoots with this student and he (Jones) met them at the door with a Sig Sauer (pistol). He took their IDs and sent them away telling them that he knew who they were and where they lived. This story in itself raises a number of questions that were not asked by us since they were secondary to the allegation that Jones was falsely claiming to be a SEAL.
Jones was asked by Harold to provide his SEAL class number so that we could verify and put to rest the issue. Jones refused without much explanation. He felt he had no reason to buy into the situation and had stopped responding to any such allegations years ago. We made him aware of the third party verifications we received regarding his record. He questioned their agenda and accuracy.
We gave him many attempts to clear the air over the course of the conversation to no avail. On several occasions during the call we offered Jones time to gather documentation and to respond to the allegations; Jones was not interested in responding and reiterated his statement that he stopped responding to such allegations years ago.
Jones said he would leave the AJA and take his students with him. He also stated that he would have to tell (AJA head sensei in Nevada) Jimmy Lockett why he was leaving and gave us the distinct impression that he would encourage Jimmy to leave the AJA as well.
In the end, Jones felt he had no need to provide us any proof. Harold was more than generous in his attempts to help Jones disprove the impersonation claims and offered more time to respond, if needed. Jones stuck to his initial position: that he felt no need to discuss the issue any further and had no intention of offering any further response.”
CONCERNS: Jones refused to give straight answers to legitimate questions from two AJA board members and colleagues with whom he had had substantial dealings. Jones again asserted that he served as a SEAL yet refused to provide evidence. Jones insinuated that he will attempt to turn another AJA head sensei against the AJA.
May 29:
Harold emailed to Tom: “I searched my hard drive and found this copy of Robert Jones’s AJA application. Notice the following line:
‘Current/final military rank if any: ______________’ has the response ‘Not Applicable.’”

If Jones is proud of having been a SEAL--boasting to Harold more than once about it--why did he omit this qualification (or other military service) on his AJA application? In sum, Jones either: (1) did serve in the military (as a SEAL or more likely in the Marines, where he went AWOL, according to https://militaryphony.com/2018/04/06/robert-lee-jones-fake-navy-seal/" target="_blank">https://militaryphony.com/2018/04/06/robert-lee-jones-fake-navy-seal/) and lied about it on his AJA application; or (2) did not serve, yet told Harold several times that he’d been a SEAL, repeating this to Harold and Alessandro on May 28. Hence, Jones lied one way or the other. CONCERNS: Despite bragging about serving as a SEAL and wearing SEAL insignia, Jones failed to mention it in his 2020 AJA application. If Jones served in the U.S. Marines in the early 1980s (as indicated by research conducted by militaryphony.com), he failed to mention that in his application. Conversely, if Jones was telling the truth in his application about having not served, he went on to claim falsely that he’d been a SEAL.
June 11 & 12:
Tom asked AJA and Budoshin founder George Kirby his opinion of the Jones situation, given that Jones was scheduled to teach at George’s Budoshin Summer Camp in late September 2023. George then asked Jones via email about his SEAL status based on the ethical magnitude of the matter.
Jones responded twice to George via email that he was “not going to play that game” of proving he was a SEAL. Jones said he expected that George might contact him about the issue in light of the AJA investigation, asserting that he could explain the situation, but “will not provide any personal data for a number of very good reasons.”
Jones went on to criticize George for not telling the AJA to “pound sand” because, according to Jones, what George knows personally about Jones should supersede “gossip or trashing.”
George followed up these email exchanges with a phone call, during which Jones voluntarily withdrew from teaching at George’s Budoshin Summer Camp.
CONCERNS: Jones refused to answer legitimate questions from a distinguished former AJA leader who had invited him to teach at an important annual seminar. Jones admitted that he “could” explain conflicting information about his military background, yet declined to. Jones dismissed concerns of George Kirby and the AJA about his military record as mere “gossip or trashing.” Jones preferred to turn down an invitation to teach at a major seminar with several nationally known martial artists rather than offer a coherent explanation of his military background.
June 19:
Prompted by additional concerns raised by AJA President Dave Boesel, Tom sent the following email to Jones yet received no response by the requested date or at any time thereafter:
“The American Jujitsu Association (AJA) has a number of follow-up questions to the interview that AJA directors Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman conducted with you on May 28, 2023. We require that you answer the questions below via email no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, June 22, 2023:
We note that you cite the following ryu and martial arts organizations on your school’s website, wsmaa.com: International Kenpo Karate Society Wu Shen Pai International Association Tetsunami-Ryu Aiki Jiu Jitsu
Please provide the name and location of the dojos for each of these organizations/ryu. Please identify who awarded you your highest rank in each of these organizations/ryu. Given your claims to [AJA board members] Harold [Zeidman] and Alessandro [Ashanti], please explain why your name does not appear in the SEAL Database, which includes everyone who completed SEAL training from 1943 until now. Why did you neglect to disclose having served as a SEAL in your AJA application dated June 7, 2020? (You replied “not applicable” to the question 'Current/final military rank if any: __________”)? Military records appear to indicate that you served in the U.S. Marines from 1980 to 1983. If this is accurate, why did you not disclose this in your AJA application? Please let me know if these questions require clarification, and be aware that we will likely have additional queries as our investigation of you continues.

David Boesel refines or adds to these questions as follows:
Jones’s representations on the Web raise a number of other questions.
Jones’s bio states that he holds a Ph.D. in Political Science through Northern Arizona University. However, a martial arts participant in an online discussion says that Jones holds a Ph.D. from a correspondence school in Great Britain that cost $500.
Does Jones hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Arizona University?
Jones’s representations also raise questions concerning possible “false or misleading statements about one’s own rank, dojo, or martial arts background.”
Jones’s bio states that he is the founder or leader of a number of martial arts systems and organizations, among them:
Founder, Wu Shen Pai Chu’an Gung Fu Founder, Wu Shen Pai Kenpo President, Wu Shen Pai International Association Founder, International Kenpo Karate Society (IKKS) Founder, International Martial Arts College. Founder, Tetsunami-Ryu Aiki Jiu Jitsu.
Repeated Internet searches reveal that references to Wu Shen Pai systems link directly to Jones’s Warrior Spirit Martial Arts Academy in Las Vegas, but not to any other martial arts schools (an exception being the East West Kenpo Karate Studios in Las Vegas, which Jones also directs).
Are there any other martial arts schools dedicated to Wu Shen Pai systems? If so, what are they?
The name International Kenpo Karate Society (IKKS) is similar to that of the International Kenpo Karate Association, founded by Ed Parker, the creator of American Kenpo Karate). The IKKS website links directly to the Spirit Warrior Academy but not to others. Although the IKKS is said to have “affiliates throughout the world,” repeated web searches have not revealed any.
What are the IKKS affiliates outside of the United States?
Internet searches for the International Martial Arts College, of which Jones is said to be the Founder, turned up no site dedicated to the college. However, it did turn up a site for an International Martial Arts Academy.
What is the International Martial Arts College? And in what way is it international?
A search for Tetsunami-Ryu Aki Jiu Jitsu yielded no results other than Jones stating that he is the founder of the ryu.
Where, other than in Las Vegas, is Tetsunami-Ryu Aki Jiu Jitsu taught?
CONCERNS: Jones has a troubling history of founding and assuming high rank in more than one questionable martial arts organization about which little or no information is available. Jones neglected to reply when questioned about this by Tom Dineen, again ignoring questions arising during a formal inquiry by the AJA.
June 20:
Harold emails Tom and other Board members:
Jones “...disclosed to me that during his military service he worked undercover as a naval officer to ‘put away’ people dealing drugs with the Marine Corps and that, as a result, he had to change his identity for his own safety…I’m presuming that this now is his rationale for not providing any documentation of his Navy SEAL training; i.e., he changed his identity, so naturally nothing would match.
I felt that the Navy SEAL issue had been fully discussed when Alessandro and I talked with [Jones] and he declined then to provide any evidence, even just his SEAL class number, so this new matter of changing his identity would only support his ongoing refusal to provide any information; therefore, I did not ask him again for evidence. He did explain that this change in identity was why he couldn’t give any information about his military service on his AJA application.
I found it interesting that a person who changed his identity to hide himself for safety reasons because of his military service would sport a Navy SEAL pin and talk so much about his military service. If he tells me, then presumably he tells others the same stories…I would have thought he would have done everything possible to hide his military service, but I’m clearly missing something.”
CONCERNS: If Jones changed his name to protect himself, he could now provide evidence of this to the AJA, then disclose under which name he qualified as a SEAL; this information would be kept in strictest confidence. As Harold notes, however, if Jones’s name-changing story is true and he is determined to keep his military service confidential, why would he: (1) publicly wear SEAL clothing, as well a SEAL pin in a widely circulated photo in his online biography; and (2) boast in person repeatedly and at length of having served as a SEAL?
CONCLUSIONS
Below is the section of the current AJA constitution that applies to this matter.
AJA CONSTITUTION, SECTION 6: Sanctions (Punitive Actions) Sanctions may be imposed against any dojo, student, instructor, administrative officer or Board member who violates the AJA Constitution or Bylaws in any form or manner. Sanctions may include, but are not necessarily limited to, a) removal from elected or appointed AJA office; b) the suspension and/or revocation of AJA certifications and/or benefits; or c) suspension and/or revocation of AJA Dojo Charter. Sanctions may be imposed against any individual in the AJA for any of the following reasons: making false or misleading statements about rank, dojo, or martial arts background; gross disrespect, e.g. demanding a promotion, threats toward other AJA members, etc.; communicating in a rude, profane, or abusive manner; issuing ranks for personal or political gain; any conduct, not mentioned above, which in the opinion of the Board, is unbecoming a martial artist.
In light of Section 6 (E) of the AJA Constitution, as well as the extensive evidence presented above, the AJA recommends sanctioning Robert Lee Jones for “Conduct unbecoming a martial artist” based on instances in which Jones:
Asserted repeatedly that he served as a SEAL despite there being no evidence to support this, while there is considerable evidence against it.
Repeatedly refused to respond to fair questions about his military background from AJA board members Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman, AJA Chairman Emeritus George Kirby, and AJA Vice President Thomas Dineen.
Failed to mention any military affiliations in his 2020 AJA application (thus, if evidence emerges that he did qualify as a SEAL or served in the U.S. Marines, Jones still attempted to deceive).
Chose to withdraw from teaching at George Kirby’s September 2023 seminar rather than answer questions posed by George about his background.
Claimed to have changed his name to protect himself from reprisals for undercover military activity, yet (thus far) has provided no evidence of this; in contradiction of his supposed need for secrecy, Jones still saw fit to advertise his purported SEAL service by publicly wearing SEAL insignia and boasting repeatedly and at length of having been a SEAL.
Insinuated that he would try to turn another AJA head sensei, Jimmy Lockett, against the Association because it has questioned Jones’s military service.
Additionally “unbecoming a martial artist,” Jones has a troubling history of founding and assuming high rank in more than one questionable martial arts organization about which little or no information is available despite extensive online research conducted by the President and Vice President of the AJA.
Jones also violated Section 6 (J) of the AJA Constitution, which pertains to “illegal issuance of ranks (e.g. Shodan issuing Shodan grade)”; this accusation is supported by Jones’s 2020 promotion of his ex-wife, Kristine, to the grade of AJA Shodan when Jones was himself an AJA Shodan and therefore unqualified to make such a promotion.
PROPOSED SANCTIONS AND NEXT STEPS Given the extent of Robert Lee Jones’s suspected misdeeds, the AJA is eager to receive evidence from him or other parties that disproves or mitigates them. If Jones does not provide such evidence (or resign from the AJA) within thirty (30) days (i.e., by September 5, 2023), we recommend that he be permanently expelled from the AJA as both an instructor and a member. As for AJA Dojo Charter #8800, which Jones was granted when he became an AJA head sensei, we recommend that the senseis and students of AJA Dojo #8800 be allowed to maintain their AJA memberships and benefits only if another AJA sensei takes over head instructor responsibilities at Jones’s dojo once Jones leaves the AJA. If this does not occur, Jones’s current senseis and students must also relinquish their AJA memberships and AJA Dojo Charter #8800 will be revoked. NOTE: All of the above sanctions are subject to modification depending on how Jones replies to the AJA. As noted earlier, anyone accused of a violation by the AJA has ample opportunity to respond before the Board brings sanctions. Jones therefore has thirty (30) days to reply (i.e., by September 5, 2023) via email to AJA Vice President Thomas Dineen at tgdineen3&gmail.com and/or AJA Secretary Barry Stebbins at colbarry&aol.com The Board will evaluate the response of Jones and issue a decision within thirty (30) days of receiving his reply. The decisions of the Board are final.

One of the funeral homes our VFW Memorial Team work with puts on a car show every year as a fundraiser for our little crew. The funds raised are enough to cover all of our uniform expenses and help us pay it forward. We've donated more than $50k locally over the past few years.
The guys do about 200 services a year in all conditions. I've personally been through some ridiculous cold, heat, rain, snow and wind but it's well worth it.
I just hope someone will be around to play Taps when I go.

She's a retired RN. Funny story about 6 years ago I was screened for bladder cancer. Tube down the Ol pipe etc. I didn't tell anyone about it. So the urologist was directly behind the hospital my Mom was working at. Go figure. Leaving getting a clean bill of health I was relieved and called my brother who had no idea and briefed him quickly on the deal. He asks why didn't you tell us? I said no reason for you all to worry. He asks does Mom know? Nope nobody. I said don't tell Mom she doesn't need to know. Promise? Yeah ok he says. After hanging up sitting in the parking lot 5 minutes later ring ring. Well how ironic it's my Mom calling. She says hello just thinking about you how you been? I said I'm fine and was just by your work. Oh really? Why she asks. I said I had business down there. Hey everybody Diane Here! We went to visit Don's Mother and made a quick run to Annapolis for a couple of days. We bought a new GoPro that has a different format and it won't let us upload the footage for you.The main road in front of the hotel was flooded so we got re-routed or lost whatever you call it? Finally got the hell outta there and back home to a flooded 80 acres!! It's all good now and we're home safe. We appolgize and really appreciate the patience. Was even offered a beer last night in parking lot of the Stonecroft by a college football group . Lol . Feel good about myself and happy with yesterday's accomplishments. Oh my gosh . A prostitute with a bicycle and a shopping cart just went by 30 ft. from me coughing her head off . My heart goes out to them but I can't help them. Learned that in Sarnia . My goodness 6 homeless in 2 cups of coffee and a couple smokes . Starting to question this location . Not in the forest at the homestead anymore Toto . No hunger, got a few smokes , a clean bed and a bathroom ,and now a TV and it picks up channels . Time to try this sleep thing again. Ta ta for now .

Morning . Was going to get up at 04:30 and leave at 05:00 . But fuck stick brain woke at 02:00 . Off the beer again and down to 225 lbs.Staying sober and working 10 hrs. a day and hit 200 lbs. in a month is my new personal challenge . In May of 2021 I was at Pottage La Praire Manitoba And did 39 of 40 nights . Then I was about 260 lbs, . I've learned alot about myself . Pushing myself to my limits and finding I can do it is such a confidence builder . At one time I was terrified to go to the store anticipating another death at the next intersection to let's fly across country to a strange border city and make some cash . Fuck ya . Sarnia was a border city but Windsor may be different . Detroit is just across the river . Keep my head straight , mouth shut and mind my own business. Those are things I can control . A hidden silver lining to this job is a huge new battery factory for electric cars is getting built in Windsor also . Time for a shower get dressed and load up the truck . Off on a new adventure .

I do not appreciate Don's near constant criticism of martial artists. I've had a 2nd Degree Black Belt in naked monkey style since the late 80's, and in those days NAKED MONKEY was RARE. There was still a LOT of 60's and 70's influence at that time, so everywhere you looked you had Hairy Monkey Style, Wooly Beast Style, even some OLD Uncut Shrubbery masters still floating around out there. They were DARK days my friends, especially for those of us committed to mastering the Naked Monkey, and his criticism of the arts as a whole simply does not take into consideration the effort, and I'll say it: SACRIFICES, it took by those of us going full naked monkey in a time when naked monkey wasn't welcome! If you want people to respect YOUR things, then you have to throw a little love on THEIR things. These days ALL you guys are up to your NECKS in Naked Monkey, you can't swing a dead cat or do a google image search without landing on a naked monkey TODAY. I'm not asking for THANKS, just maybe an acknowledgement that had WE not FORCED "The Clipper Technique," "Scissors Kick," and forms like "Lotion/Razor" into the forefront in a time when everyone was content to just accept life as bushman of the kalahari, none of you would be anywhere. We took you ALL from a world of: "What is that? dead possum?" to the glory that is the clean, smooth, FLUID style of the naked monkey. Now, I love the videos, and I need to get to work, and I am not whining. I am just saying a LITTLE less criticism, and a LITTLE more wink/nod is in order here.

Recieved a forward email yesterday morning to be in Windsor Monday for orientation . #1 : No matter how well you prepare you can get ambushed . My latest lesson yesterday afternoon . Dues payed to end of yr. . Got the clearence slip . Renewed Ontario Elec.license . Recieved the orientation date . Went to buy the plane ticket and BOOM . Some how a U.S. tela-market scammer operates in the Air Canada web site and the plane ticket was $737 USD , over $1000 Canadian . The ambuse got me . Talked to Visa . They are aware of it . It will take a little time . Down loaded the Air Canada app and got my ticket . Got a room booked . On my way tomorrow morning . Land in Windsor 18:00 . That gives Sunday to scope out the area . Did alot of Google Maps . Thats it for now .

After undergoing hand surgery, I struggled to grip things when it mattered. I was tasked with cleaning out my late Mother and Father-in-law's house recently. To tackle this massive undertaking, I decided to hire four strong individuals. It took us 8 hours of hard work to fill two 30-yard roll-off dumpsters, each towering at 6 feet in height – keep that height in mind.
Once we had successfully cleared the debris and my hired crew left, I stayed behind to do some final tidying up. The unexpected happened: I accidentally tossed my glove into one of the dumpsters. Frustrated, I had no choice but to climb over the towering containers. As I placed my foot on some cardboard, it blocked my right foot from making it over, setting off a chain of unfortunate events.
Before I knew it, I was cascading backward in layout position off the top of the 6-foot tall dumpster, my weight hurtling me toward the unforgiving concrete driveway below. I landed with a painful thud, cracking a few ribs. But as if that wasn't enough, fate had one more cruel trick. My fall was interrupted by the locking mechanism of the dumpster right above my 3rd back surgery oh yeah,
Throughout this ordeal, I clung to the top of the dumpster with all my might for as long as I could, desperately trying to prevent an even more catastrophic outcome i.e. smacking my head, but I blew out my thumb; apparently, it was not prepared for this sudden trial, and gave way. I'm back to square one on my thumb. It's unable to withstand any lateral stress. PS Those deep valleys are my back surgery, not ass crack SO DONT GET ALL EXCITED YOU TOFU BED WETTING HOMOs nurse made the shot

You really need to be careful if you want to train legitimately, whether they claim to be SEAL or not. I know a guy right now who is a fifth degree black belt, but i know how he got it...silly. There are good schools too though, just do your homework.

nice night senior chief- 19sept2023 i watch some of shawn ryan's stuff- i saw dj 5 hours i saw his show interviewing some marine sniper named vargas he was from camp pendleton i watched the whole 5:46 hours of it he talked about the suicide bomber incident at abbey gate i didnt know there were marines there i thot they were all from ft bragg they were sent to help security in the evacuation of afghanistan they were helping with the evac and sorting they set up at some observation tower vargas was a sniper with overwatch vargas was there something like 9 days at first he saw taliban shooting hitting and detaining people but then the state department made a deal with the taliban allowing them to be in charge of security external of the gate if the state department rejected someone trying to evac then that person would get sent bak out into the crowd to immediately get detained and more by the taliban mr vargas observed that my understanding is that people would get let in to a fenced off area and then they wait to see if they get allowed to go to usa or somewhere besides afghanistan the marines and vargas had information on his 9th day there- i think 9- that there was a suicide bomber they had a description of his clothes and also he had an older guy with him- vargas said they were observing them and they asked permission to shoot i dont recall if he said they actually had a scope on him they asked an officer there for permission to shoot and he said he didnt have to power to authorize- they asked who did have the power? the officer said he didnt know and that he would go find out he left and they never saw him again this abbey gate incident gets attention for "failure of leadership" mr vargas could have taken the shot unauthorized he was probably tempted very much and- he should have- its a hard question and he should have there was no authorization there was no guidance the marines had been deployed in some sort of dispersed security line but that day- with the report and confirmation of the presence of a suicide bomber- for some reason they decided to assemble in some sort of reserved area the suicide bomber hit them hard usually it is appropriate to have an inquiry after a bad incident there wasnt one for abbey gate until the republicans gained a little more power in 2022 in poker that could be considered to be a "tell" -no inquiry? i wanted to talk about failure of leadership as shawn ryan was interviewing vargas every now and then he would say> thats why we need to vote out biden- i dont like it when people talk about fukd up leadership and they only talk about one side u really need to fuk both of them it isnt right to talk about govt corruption and politicians stealing and then only talk about one side> fuk both of them shawn didnt like how biden and company let our people get chased out trump and his secretary of state pompeo had made a deal with the taliban where the usa had a scheduled withdrawal shawn didnt like that biden sacrificed a lot to stay on schedule i want to remind everyone how pompeo acted all during the last 6 months of the withdrawal schedule he held a disparaging attitude as we sent cash and arms and unusable equipment like planes and helos to afghanistan he didnt say anything tho- he didnt say anything at all> no big objections noplace nowhere i want to remind u that the loss of an armory is very significant the loss of an armory to isis 8 years earlier should have still been fresh in memory the impending loss of significant arms and equipment to the taliban didnt cause secretary of state pompeo to make any kind of objection i didnt realize how much trump and company had sold out free afghanistan- also many people there had to suddenly realize their loss to breach of trust really> i was surprised to find out- i bet many people were surprised to find out- it is important to remember that most people didnt know about the trump departure schedule i think biden just wanted out of a bad situation he should have done it better i wanted to talk about failure of leadership a guy on the internet named jameson commented on officers that there was a problem with- "politicians" vargas talked about getting direction from state department guys- state department guys are politicians- it was very possible that they were more concerned about getting out of an uncomfortable political situation than they were about the workers and the soldiers there was no inquiry into abbey gate until 2022- 2 years later vargas said they were "ignored" by leadership i think it was more like "nonexistant" leadership fuk fuk and a half they had him in their sights my thots- vargas and company had observed the taliban for 9 days- they had intel about a suicide bomber that they observed- there was little to no observation or leadership- it could maybe be said later that it was unauthorized but- sniper vargas should have shot i have sympathy for mr vargas and all the fallen soldiers at abbey gate- fuk fuk fuk fuk

ACCUSATIONS IN VIOLATION OF SECTION 6 OF THE AJA CONSTITUTION:
Section 6 (E): “conduct…unbecoming a martial artist” based on Jones’s: (1) fictional, unexplained, or unevidenced military claims; (2) failure to respond to multiple AJA inquiries; and (3) founding of dubious martial arts organizations mostly so he could proclaim himself “Founder” and “President” and assume high rank in them.
Section 6 (J): “illegal issuance of ranks (e.g. Shodan issuing Shodan grade)” based on Jones’s 2020 promotion of his ex-wife, Kristine, to the grade of AJA Shodan when Jones was himself an AJA Shodan and therefore unqualified to make such a promotion.
TIMELINE WITH BACKGROUND AND EVIDENCE:
May 7:
Tom Dineen noted that George Kirby had invited Jones to teach a seminar at Camp Budoshin in late September 2023, so looked up his background. Tom noticed that Jones, in an online bio, sported the well-known gold Navy SEAL pin (with eagle clutching trident and flintlock pistol) on his left lapel:

Research indicated that Tom wasn’t alone in noting Jones’s sartorial statement. More than one online group committed to exposing military imposters had compiled material that questioned Jones’s claims:

It appeared the Valor Guardians and Military Phony sites had done enough research into his background to indicate that Jones never was a SEAL. These groups also uncovered information suggesting that Jones was in the U.S. Marines in the early 1980s, where he may have gone AWOL.
Also on May 7, AJA Treasurer Harold Zeidman wrote to Tom: “...the AJA seminar I taught at this past weekend was indeed at Robert Jones’ dojo. He proudly wears a Navy SEAL hat and talks, in general terms at least, about serving as a SEAL. Until now, I had no reason to doubt him.”
Hence, Jones went beyond merely wearing SEAL gear; he claimed to have been a SEAL to Harold and later repeated the claim when interviewed by Harold and AJA Western Regional Director Alessandro Ashanti on May 28 (see below).
CONCERN: Legitimate doubts arise about Jones’s claims of having been a SEAL.
May 25:
AJA member Dave Garcia contacted former Navy SEAL Don Shipley (BUD/S 131, SEAL Team ONE, SEAL Team TWO) and asked him to investigate Jones’s claims. Dave then forwarded Don’s reply below to Tom:
Sir,
I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams, Underwater Demolition Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named ROBERT LEE JONES. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that ROBERT LEE JONES NEVER COMPLETED SEAL TRAINING, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL or a Navy Underwater Demolition Team member.
Countless SEAL Imposters show proof of their SEAL claims in the form of SEAL Insignia (Tridents), SEAL Coins, SEAL Award Citations, and SEAL Training Graduation certificates which are unfortunately all available on-line. Numerous others get SEAL Tattoos, Photoshop their faces on SEAL Pictures and alter actual Military Discharge Papers to show SEAL service. Myriads of imposters claim the Navy removed their name from the SEAL Database when they encountered trouble during their service, and nothing could be further from the truth.
Many SEAL imposters when confronted with the information I have provided will resort to claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their SEAL Operations were classified as Secret and that there are no official records of them. Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program. The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has 'NO IMPACT' on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program.
There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.
When discovering that a person was never a SEAL, many people would like to know what that person actually did in the military or did he serve at all. For a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request of that person’s military service you should contact info&pownetwork.org and provide the necessary information. (First and Last name, a close age, a current or past address or a city or town that person lives in or has lived in).

CONCERN: Strong evidence provided that Jones never qualified as a SEAL.
May 28:
A FaceTime interview of Jones was conducted by AJA Board members Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman. Both had conducted seminars with Jones, Harold most recently in May 2023. In total, Alessandro had trained with Jones once, while Harold had done so three times.
They summarized the Jones interview as follows:
“We spoke to Robert Jones on May 28, 2023, over FaceTime regarding the allegation that his military record, specifically his claim of being a Navy SEAL, was untrue. We assured him that we were attempting to sort through the information we received from multiple sources so that we could understand the facts. Harold mentioned on many occasions that we wanted him to be able to address the accusations, even if he needed some time. He had initially asked how this came about and became annoyed when Alessandro mentioned the Board’s duty to investigate allegations.
Jones’s explanation to us was a rambling story involving several actors at play who were acting in unison in a coordinated effort to defame him. He started off saying that he has faced these accusations before and they all stemmed from one student of his who had an issue with a failing grade he received. We assumed this was the initial posting regarding the allegations of stolen valor that Tom forwarded to the Board.
Here is a paraphrasing of the story Jones provided to us:
According to Jones, this is a concerted effort by a single student who has connections of one type or another and is on the dark web. He received a failing grade in Jones’s course that the student was unsuccessful appealing. At that point information started appearing online of Jones falsely claiming he was a Navy SEAL.
Jones then reasserted to us that he had been a SEAL and that the accusations had no basis. He however refused to provide any proof of his claims to counter the accusation. He mentioned that he had four men show up at his house one evening who were somehow in cahoots with this student and he (Jones) met them at the door with a Sig Sauer (pistol). He took their IDs and sent them away telling them that he knew who they were and where they lived. This story in itself raises a number of questions that were not asked by us since they were secondary to the allegation that Jones was falsely claiming to be a SEAL.
Jones was asked by Harold to provide his SEAL class number so that we could verify and put to rest the issue. Jones refused without much explanation. He felt he had no reason to buy into the situation and had stopped responding to any such allegations years ago. We made him aware of the third party verifications we received regarding his record. He questioned their agenda and accuracy.
We gave him many attempts to clear the air over the course of the conversation to no avail. On several occasions during the call we offered Jones time to gather documentation and to respond to the allegations; Jones was not interested in responding and reiterated his statement that he stopped responding to such allegations years ago.
Jones said he would leave the AJA and take his students with him. He also stated that he would have to tell (AJA head sensei in Nevada) Jimmy Lockett why he was leaving and gave us the distinct impression that he would encourage Jimmy to leave the AJA as well.
In the end, Jones felt he had no need to provide us any proof. Harold was more than generous in his attempts to help Jones disprove the impersonation claims and offered more time to respond, if needed. Jones stuck to his initial position: that he felt no need to discuss the issue any further and had no intention of offering any further response.”
CONCERNS:
Jones refused to give straight answers to legitimate questions from two AJA board members and colleagues with whom he had had substantial dealings.
Jones again asserted that he served as a SEAL yet refused to provide evidence.
Jones insinuated that he will attempt to turn another AJA head sensei against the AJA.
May 29:
Harold emailed to Tom: “I searched my hard drive and found this copy of Robert Jones’s AJA application. Notice the following line:
‘Current/final military rank if any: ______________’ has the response ‘Not Applicable.’”

If Jones is proud of having been a SEAL--boasting to Harold more than once about it--why did he omit this qualification (or other military service) on his AJA application?
In sum, Jones either: (1) did serve in the military (as a SEAL or more likely in the Marines, where he went AWOL, according to https://militaryphony.com/2018/04/06/robert-lee-jones-fake-navy-seal/" target="_blank">https://militaryphony.com/2018/04/06/robert-lee-jones-fake-navy-seal/) and lied about it on his AJA application; or (2) did not serve, yet told Harold several times that he’d been a SEAL, repeating this to Harold and Alessandro on May 28. Hence, Jones lied one way or the other.
CONCERNS:
Despite bragging about serving as a SEAL and wearing SEAL insignia, Jones failed to mention it in his 2020 AJA application.
If Jones served in the U.S. Marines in the early 1980s (as indicated by research conducted by militaryphony.com), he failed to mention that in his application.
Conversely, if Jones was telling the truth in his application about having not served, he went on to claim falsely that he’d been a SEAL.
June 11 & 12:
Tom asked AJA and Budoshin founder George Kirby his opinion of the Jones situation, given that Jones was scheduled to teach at George’s Budoshin Summer Camp in late September 2023. George then asked Jones via email about his SEAL status based on the ethical magnitude of the matter.
Jones responded twice to George via email that he was “not going to play that game” of proving he was a SEAL. Jones said he expected that George might contact him about the issue in light of the AJA investigation, asserting that he could explain the situation, but “will not provide any personal data for a number of very good reasons.”
Jones went on to criticize George for not telling the AJA to “pound sand” because, according to Jones, what George knows personally about Jones should supersede “gossip or trashing.”
George followed up these email exchanges with a phone call, during which Jones voluntarily withdrew from teaching at George’s Budoshin Summer Camp.
CONCERNS:
Jones refused to answer legitimate questions from a distinguished former AJA leader who had invited him to teach at an important annual seminar.
Jones admitted that he “could” explain conflicting information about his military background, yet declined to.
Jones dismissed concerns of George Kirby and the AJA about his military record as mere “gossip or trashing.”
Jones preferred to turn down an invitation to teach at a major seminar with several nationally known martial artists rather than offer a coherent explanation of his military background.
June 19:
Prompted by additional concerns raised by AJA President Dave Boesel, Tom sent the following email to Jones yet received no response by the requested date or at any time thereafter:
“The American Jujitsu Association (AJA) has a number of follow-up questions to the interview that AJA directors Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman conducted with you on May 28, 2023. We require that you answer the questions below via email no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, June 22, 2023:
We note that you cite the following ryu and martial arts organizations on your school’s website, wsmaa.com:

Please provide the name and location of the dojos for each of these organizations/ryu.

Why did you neglect to disclose having served as a SEAL in your AJA application dated June 7, 2020? (You replied “not applicable” to the question 'Current/final military rank if any: __________”)?
Military records appear to indicate that you served in the U.S. Marines from 1980 to 1983. If this is accurate, why did you not disclose this in your AJA application?

Jones’s representations on the Web raise a number of other questions.
Jones’s bio states that he holds a Ph.D. in Political Science through Northern Arizona
University. However, a martial arts participant in an online discussion says that Jones holds
a Ph.D. from a correspondence school in Great Britain that cost $500.
Does Jones hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Arizona University?
Jones’s representations also raise questions concerning possible “false or misleading
statements about one’s own rank, dojo, or martial arts background.”
Jones’s bio states that he is the founder or leader of a number of martial arts systems and
organizations, among them:
Founder, Wu Shen Pai Chu’an Gung Fu
Founder, Wu Shen Pai Kenpo
President, Wu Shen Pai International Association
Founder, International Kenpo Karate Society (IKKS)
Founder, International Martial Arts College.
Founder, Tetsunami-Ryu Aiki Jiu Jitsu.
Repeated Internet searches reveal that references to Wu Shen Pai systems link directly to Jones’s Warrior Spirit Martial Arts Academy in Las Vegas, but not to any other martial arts
schools (an exception being the East West Kenpo Karate Studios in Las Vegas, which Jones also directs).
Are there any other martial arts schools dedicated to Wu Shen Pai systems? If so, what are they?
The name International Kenpo Karate Society (IKKS) is similar to that of the International Kenpo
Karate Association, founded by Ed Parker, the creator of American Kenpo Karate). The IKKS
website links directly to the Spirit Warrior Academy but not to others. Although the IKKS is said
to have “affiliates throughout the world,” repeated web searches have not revealed any.
What are the IKKS affiliates outside of the United States?
Internet searches for the International Martial Arts College, of which Jones is said to be the
Founder, turned up no site dedicated to the college. However, it did turn up a site for an
International Martial Arts Academy.
What is the International Martial Arts College? And in what way is it international?
A search for Tetsunami-Ryu Aki Jiu Jitsu yielded no results other than Jones stating that he is
the founder of the ryu.
Where, other than in Las Vegas, is Tetsunami-Ryu Aki Jiu Jitsu taught?
CONCERNS:
Jones has a troubling history of founding and assuming high rank in more than one questionable martial arts organization about which little or no information is available.
Jones neglected to reply when questioned about this by Tom Dineen, again ignoring questions arising during a formal inquiry by the AJA.
June 20:
Harold emails Tom and other Board members:
Jones “...disclosed to me that during his military service he worked undercover as a naval officer to ‘put away’ people dealing drugs with the Marine Corps and that, as a result, he had to change his identity for his own safety…I’m presuming that this now is his rationale for not providing any documentation of his Navy SEAL training; i.e., he changed his identity, so naturally nothing would match.
I felt that the Navy SEAL issue had been fully discussed when Alessandro and I talked with [Jones] and he declined then to provide any evidence, even just his SEAL class number, so this new matter of changing his identity would only support his ongoing refusal to provide any information; therefore, I did not ask him again for evidence. He did explain that this change in identity was why he couldn’t give any information about his military service on his AJA application.
I found it interesting that a person who changed his identity to hide himself for safety reasons because of his military service would sport a Navy SEAL pin and talk so much about his military service. If he tells me, then presumably he tells others the same stories…I would have thought he would have done everything possible to hide his military service, but I’m clearly missing something.”
CONCERNS:
If Jones changed his name to protect himself, he could now provide evidence of this to the AJA, then disclose under which name he qualified as a SEAL; this information would be kept in strictest confidence.
As Harold notes, however, if Jones’s name-changing story is true and he is determined to keep his military service confidential, why would he: (1) publicly wear SEAL clothing, as well a SEAL pin in a widely circulated photo in his online biography; and (2) boast in person repeatedly and at length of having served as a SEAL?
CONCLUSIONS
Below is the section of the current AJA constitution that applies to this matter.
AJA CONSTITUTION, SECTION 6: Sanctions (Punitive Actions)
Sanctions may be imposed against any dojo, student, instructor, administrative officer or Board member who violates the AJA Constitution or Bylaws in any form or manner. Sanctions may include, but are not necessarily limited to, a) removal from elected or appointed AJA office; b) the suspension and/or revocation of AJA certifications and/or benefits; or c) suspension and/or revocation of AJA Dojo Charter. Sanctions may be imposed against any individual in the AJA for any of the following reasons:
making false or misleading statements about rank, dojo, or martial arts background;
gross disrespect, e.g. demanding a promotion, threats toward other AJA members, etc.;
communicating in a rude, profane, or abusive manner;
issuing ranks for personal or political gain;
any conduct, not mentioned above, which in the opinion of the Board, is unbecoming a martial artist.
In light of Section 6 (E) of the AJA Constitution, as well as the extensive evidence presented above, the AJA recommends sanctioning Robert Lee Jones for “Conduct unbecoming a martial artist” based on instances in which Jones:
Asserted repeatedly that he served as a SEAL despite there being no evidence to support this, while there is considerable evidence against it.
Repeatedly refused to respond to fair questions about his military background from AJA board members Alessandro Ashanti and Harold Zeidman, AJA Chairman Emeritus George Kirby, and AJA Vice President Thomas Dineen.
Failed to mention any military affiliations in his 2020 AJA application (thus, if evidence emerges that he did qualify as a SEAL or served in the U.S. Marines, Jones still attempted to deceive).
Chose to withdraw from teaching at George Kirby’s September 2023 seminar rather than answer questions posed by George about his background.
Claimed to have changed his name to protect himself from reprisals for undercover military activity, yet (thus far) has provided no evidence of this; in contradiction of his supposed need for secrecy, Jones still saw fit to advertise his purported SEAL service by publicly wearing SEAL insignia and boasting repeatedly and at length of having been a SEAL.
Insinuated that he would try to turn another AJA head sensei, Jimmy Lockett, against the Association because it has questioned Jones’s military service.
Additionally “unbecoming a martial artist,” Jones has a troubling history of founding and assuming high rank in more than one questionable martial arts organization about which little or no information is available despite extensive online research conducted by the President and Vice President of the AJA.
Jones also violated Section 6 (J) of the AJA Constitution, which pertains to “illegal issuance of ranks (e.g. Shodan issuing Shodan grade)”; this accusation is supported by Jones’s 2020 promotion of his ex-wife, Kristine, to the grade of AJA Shodan when Jones was himself an AJA Shodan and therefore unqualified to make such a promotion.
PROPOSED SANCTIONS AND NEXT STEPS
Given the extent of Robert Lee Jones’s suspected misdeeds, the AJA is eager to receive evidence from him or other parties that disproves or mitigates them.
If Jones does not provide such evidence (or resign from the AJA) within thirty (30) days (i.e., by September 5, 2023), we recommend that he be permanently expelled from the AJA as both an instructor and a member.
As for AJA Dojo Charter #8800, which Jones was granted when he became an AJA head sensei, we recommend that the senseis and students of AJA Dojo #8800 be allowed to maintain their AJA memberships and benefits only if another AJA sensei takes over head instructor responsibilities at Jones’s dojo once Jones leaves the AJA. If this does not occur, Jones’s current senseis and students must also relinquish their AJA memberships and AJA Dojo Charter #8800 will be revoked.
NOTE: All of the above sanctions are subject to modification depending on how Jones replies to the AJA.
As noted earlier, anyone accused of a violation by the AJA has ample opportunity to respond before the Board brings sanctions. Jones therefore has thirty (30) days to reply (i.e., by September 5, 2023) via email to AJA Vice President Thomas Dineen at tgdineen3&gmail.com and/or AJA Secretary Barry Stebbins at colbarry&aol.com
The Board will evaluate the response of Jones and issue a decision within thirty (30) days of receiving his reply.
The decisions of the Board are final.
