Over the weekend we had a K9 track where we also deployed an Autel EVO II UAV, the UAV picked up the suspect long before the K9 found him. The UAV pilot directed the K9 to the suspect, the dog was released, (male German Shepard) and takes the guy to the ground. The suspect turtles up and does something to the dog where the dog let go and kept his distance from the suspect. Suspect was then tazed and arrested. As for a K9 mauling an adult male to death, I'm calling BS, all the K9's are trained to bite & hold which is normally the arms.
As for being in the service at 63... I'm not sure about the Navy but the Coast Guard Reserves kick you out at 60 unless you get a waiver. I never heard of anyone getting a waiver unless you're maybe a 4-star.

So as timing goes, this video is timely. Last weekend I was at a Veterans diner at my Union hall. I was seated with a man I worked with 38 years ago. I knew he was Army but what a story he told. So I’m looking for opinions on BS or truth. He was in Viet Nam in 1967. His age confirms that is possible. He was a FO for artillery. He did state he was approached by the people that ran Air America. He was a few clicks off the  Laos border with 175’s. Hell I did not even know those existed. His story is as follows. Hisself  and 2 others that were some type of operators were brown rivered upstream about 25 clicks, no markings on their uniforms. From there the inserted into Laos and worked on a South West heading until the were able to observe a bridge that was taken out by airs strikes. The problem was materials were still flowing over this river tributary and the US could not figure out why. So they observed for 3 days and final that night they witnessed trucks crossing the river. The next day they got closer to where they witnessed trucks crossing. They finally recognized a bridge built submerged about a foot under water. They cleared the area and got to an OP and called in 175 rounds. They walked the rounds in until they destroyed the under water bridge. When asked how far a 175 reached he stated about 32 miles and they were about 24 miles from the arty. My question is he states, he ended up working with a 3 digit agency after that dropping supplies to the Montatayards. After his discharge he was recruited for 2 years running around in Laos with another 2 guys on a team raising some chaos as allowed by concealment. Anyone know if the spooks were doing these things at that time? He finally had enough of the war and came home. He did say they pursed him a couple of years and him to work for them, but they finally left him alone. Any bullshit decttors going off with this? Viet Nam vets or spooks only reply please. Thanks

I don't know the first thing about "bite dogs", but I suspect that if the dog is biting you, it means that the people are gonna let you live. If they wanted to kill you, they're probably gonna go with firearms and grenades. You don't even have to walk a firearm or take it out for a piss in the morning (although you might have to clean up after it). And the only thing you need to feed it is more rounds 😊.

The surprising thing, to me as a civilian, is that a retired SEAL can call a high-ranking SEAL, and tell him this guy is fake, and that high-ranking SEAL can hear that from others too, and that high-ranking SEAL just tosses his Trident into the waste can and lets it go because he is afraid of the fallout. Its an old story; made men turn rat when its THEIR ass on the line. 1% bikers rat out their entire club rather than be personally sanctioned. More years in the boardroom than in SEAL ops I guess; and maybe there was a day when he too would have rather been set ablaze than allow a fake to stand on the dead bodies of fallen SEALs, but TODAY he is just like everyone else. He fakes being adamant about getting to the bottom of it just to get off the phone with Don, hangs up, tells his secretary to get him another coffee, and puts it out of his mind. I guess its not all that surprising? If you want someone to run towards gunfire for a CAUSE, you're probably gonna need someone under 30, certainly under 50. Not only because of the physical, but lets face it, most old men want a rocking chair, not a battle axe. You can argue whether a non-seal OGA guy's shot-up armor should be on display at the UDT/SEAL museum, but what you CANNOT argue is IF IT IS going to be there, there SHOULD be NO FUCKING DOUBT about HOW it got shot-up, where and by who. This high-ranking SEAL allowed FAKE armor to rest where it SHOULD have mattered too much to him for it to do so. To ME it seems like ANY real Navy SEAL would have crawled through flames to knock that scrap material off its pedestal. But I get it, you get older, political pressure, donor participation, the OPTICS OF THE THING, and what that means to you and your day, it all matters more than the blood that was shed. Its a sad commentary.

Little bit of history from WW2. When the US first started bringing dogs into battle, a lot of the dogs where pets that people loaned to the marines and army. A handler would show up on say an island in the pacific and other soldiers would make fun of them (why are you bringing the family pet to war) Then when these soldiers would see the dogs warn their handlers of near by jap soldiers just by smell …. Well needless to say the handlers didn’t have to dig their own foxholes. They had a lot of offers to stay with others

My Dog trainer , a NYS Top Working dog / service dog for veterans , with tours in Iraq as a civilian DOD , said this is way beyond bullshit. Why as a veteran who is using a Service dog to heal them emotionally, give a killer dog. Senior ! This guy was vetted by the NYS Police commissioner , and DOD.

He’s someone I would want you to talk to. Just the legalities if that dog bites someone , what agency is going to back and take the liability for the dog and owner , who isn’t even a SEAL…He was so meticulous and methodical , no way you could even dispute what he is saying.

I was just looking at the Museum's Facebook page. Did they let this guy get next to Trump?

Another soapbox moment … malinios are now facing over breeding dating back to the Osama Bin Ladin raid when it was reported a Malinios was on that raid. Not sure about now but over a decade ago the military would only buy about 10% of their dogs from breeders in US. 90% came from over seas with breeders that had long blood lines of very high prey drive dogs. Dogs in US are breed for pets. The dogs they get over seas are on a scale from 1-10, they are 11’s. Nowadays people think “ oh I want a malinios cause they are special ops dogs” or I saw them in the movies do amazing things (John wick 3), but those people are now getting lower drive dogs that are overbreed with health issues and end up in shelters cause owners can’t Deal with these type dogs (even the lower drive dogs we get here in US)

As for service dogs for veterans there are sooo many better choices than these high prey, dual purpose dogs.
