A Sydney Paramedic has been stabbed to death whilst sitting in his Ambulance, minding his own business. A letter has been posted by one of his colleagues.
We dedicate our lives to serving the community, helping those in need.
We know the dangers and unfortunately are exposed to those dangers far too often, but we all hope that at the end of our shift we can go home to our loved ones in one piece.
Some of us break down after years of burnout and torment from the trauma we experience, some push on carrying the scars.
Unfortunately for this young man his duty and career has ended far too soon from the very thing that scares us all whilst on duty.
He has paid the ultimate price for being a caring brave soul devoting his life to saving and serving those in need!
I pray for his young family, extended family, our colleagues and his friends!
I am absolutely devastated, angry and heartbroken for my fellow Paramedic Brother.
Prayers to you Brother, your shift has ended, Rest in Peace!

Howdy Folks. Today was my wifes day for open heart surgery . She going to have 3 by passes and 1 heart valve replacement along with two heart valve repairs or replacements. We got to the Heart Hospital this morning ready to go. I had to leave her for about 1 hour to take morning for my morning meds and get something to eat and when I returned she had blown up like a Toad Frog and could hardly breath. Bottom line, she had gone into heart failure or congestive heart failure. That all happen between the time I left her and when I returned , about one hour. So, she didn’t have the open heart surgery today, she will be in the hospital this weekend and maybe have the open heart surgery Monday. She is feeling better now. Sorry for the diatribe , I would appreciate your prayers during really hard time. Thanks and peace be with you.

I'm going to muse a bit on gun culture here. See I come from a family of settlers on my mom's side and the family ranch is still going and I grew up learning gun safety and how to aim and shoot. It wasn't my thing but I had fun and learned a bit. So I come from a culture probably not that different from many of yours. I'm not some gun-grabber trying to change the whole culture of America. My brother, USMC ret, and nephew, US Army reserves, are both keen gun owners and collectors. So I get it; guns are cool.
Where I differ with a lot of people is my philosophy of not going armed, even when there might be trouble. I remember having a discussion with a couple friends. One of them was going to confront a guy I don't remember what it was about but he proposed to take a knife. The other two of us talked him out of it with the idea that having it on him would mean it was him that brought a knife to the scene. He agreed and went without it. I think most situations are like that, and you're better off not armed.
Finally, some notes from England where the laws are such that if they were enacted where a lot of you guys live, you'd be in open revolt I have no doubt! Yeah, you have a licence, police check your gun-safe, most people wouldn't even have a strong enough interest to jump through all the hurdles. So is there knife crime? Yeah. A lot of street fights as well. I live in a little seaside town and I can tell you they are quick from the shoulders around here! So it hasn't rendered anyone into a pussy. Also, I live near Lympstone Commando, and know several Royal Marines. They handle all the firearms you could want so the opportunity's there. You just have to be able to cross Dartmoor in time without getting caught etc etc.
Anyway there's a few random gun musings from my point of view.

I cut 100' of deer fence in half yesterday. The other arm and my hands look about the same. Put on gloves after about 50' so that helped the hands at least. I think it was 8' tall so now I have 200' of 4' fence to work with. I have another 100' roll but gonna hold off on cutting it and will hopefully remember to wear long sleeves.

A Sydney Paramedic has been stabbed to death whilst sitting in his Ambulance, minding his own business. A letter has been posted by one of his colleagues.
We dedicate our lives to serving the community, helping those in need.
We know the dangers and unfortunately are exposed to those dangers far too often, but we all hope that at the end of our shift we can go home to our loved ones in one piece.
Some of us break down after years of burnout and torment from the trauma we experience, some push on carrying the scars.
Unfortunately for this young man his duty and career has ended far too soon from the very thing that scares us all whilst on duty.
He has paid the ultimate price for being a caring brave soul devoting his life to saving and serving those in need!
I pray for his young family, extended family, our colleagues and his friends!
I am absolutely devastated, angry and heartbroken for my fellow Paramedic Brother.
Prayers to you Brother, your shift has ended, Rest in Peace!

Howdy Folks. Today was my wifes day for open heart surgery . She going to have 3 by passes and 1 heart valve replacement along with two heart valve repairs or replacements. We got to the Heart Hospital this morning ready to go. I had to leave her for about 1 hour to take morning for my morning meds and get something to eat and when I returned she had blown up like a Toad Frog and could hardly breath. Bottom line, she had gone into heart failure or congestive heart failure. That all happen between the time I left her and when I returned , about one hour. So, she didn’t have the open heart surgery today, she will be in the hospital this weekend and maybe have the open heart surgery Monday. She is feeling better now. Sorry for the diatribe , I would appreciate your prayers during really hard time. Thanks and peace be with you.

I'm going to muse a bit on gun culture here. See I come from a family of settlers on my mom's side and the family ranch is still going and I grew up learning gun safety and how to aim and shoot. It wasn't my thing but I had fun and learned a bit. So I come from a culture probably not that different from many of yours. I'm not some gun-grabber trying to change the whole culture of America. My brother, USMC ret, and nephew, US Army reserves, are both keen gun owners and collectors. So I get it; guns are cool.
Where I differ with a lot of people is my philosophy of not going armed, even when there might be trouble. I remember having a discussion with a couple friends. One of them was going to confront a guy I don't remember what it was about but he proposed to take a knife. The other two of us talked him out of it with the idea that having it on him would mean it was him that brought a knife to the scene. He agreed and went without it. I think most situations are like that, and you're better off not armed.
Finally, some notes from England where the laws are such that if they were enacted where a lot of you guys live, you'd be in open revolt I have no doubt! Yeah, you have a licence, police check your gun-safe, most people wouldn't even have a strong enough interest to jump through all the hurdles. So is there knife crime? Yeah. A lot of street fights as well. I live in a little seaside town and I can tell you they are quick from the shoulders around here! So it hasn't rendered anyone into a pussy. Also, I live near Lympstone Commando, and know several Royal Marines. They handle all the firearms you could want so the opportunity's there. You just have to be able to cross Dartmoor in time without getting caught etc etc.

When we white folks take it personally and get emotional and hurt because black people are talking about racism, we're playing the position assigned to us back in the 1600s. What's the point? I cut 100' of deer fence in half yesterday. The other arm and my hands look about the same. Put on gloves after about 50' so that helped the hands at least. I think it was 8' tall so now I have 200' of 4' fence to work with.
I have another 100' roll but gonna hold off on cutting it and will hopefully remember to wear long sleeves.

Thanks for the video Don your hard work is paying off. Excited for the weirdo racist phoney video. Got a call today my Uncle is dying. My biological Dads brother. He was in the 82nd / Medic then became a 2nd lieutenant Mustang. Was fine up till a couple weeks ago. Va gave him a clean bill of health supposedly. Fell ill has some strange cancer terminal. In the hospital on a morphine drip . Probably won't make it home for hospice. Guess nobody gets out alive. He will be Airborne again soon any day. Fly high Uncle Johnny...
