It's a good thing that I have a password keeper to keep track of all the false info that I gave them. Why would they need my birthday? Evening all. Well we said good bye to our cat today. Freya was MrsNH joy and we were both there. She held her until she was at peace. I am not embarrassed to say that I shed a tear and we both hugged in the parking lot. Whatโs amazing to me is how such a thing can bring a husband and wife together. She has never felt more like my best friend than today. I tend to compartment everything so immediately came back home and started working. She wanted to look at pictures. The best part was she understood what I was doing and I understood what she was doing. I listen to her too though. Itโs a tough night at the NHhome. 18.5 years and that cat was in our home from the day we bought it. And now she isnโt.

We were supposed to have an adult pool day for the 4th, unfortunately we ended up playing Mexican Train Dominoes and drinkingโฆ.. go figure! lol ๐ I grilled steaks under my golf umbrella, our last steaks from the quarter cow we split with our friends, for the night, Kelly and Brian. So last night we bought another quarter, will be here Thursday. Grilled the steaks and asparagus and Tina seared the scallops. Of course we had a salad, Simon, cucumbers, tomatoes from Tinaโs garden. My dad told him he would keep the lighter so if he does it a second time he'll light his cellphone on fire with it. Another weekend is here, a very special weekend. School's been out for the Summer and we've been partying with our good neighbor, Hef. The party started July 1st, Canada Day, and will continue until July 4th, Independence Day. Mom has to work this weekend, so we've been at Hef's place since yesterday. Hef was a little upset when we drank all his beer. Fortunately for all of us, we had a few cases of beer stashed away. We just like to have a little fun with Hef. More importantly our time was split, and we were conflicted. We promised Mom we'd never use the DeLorean for evil. That being said, we need to seek evil out and destroy it whenever we can. Dr. Hannibal Lecter was in our sites, pure evil. So you guessed it, folks, the DeLorean rides again. Our destination: 1991, the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Maryland, a maximum-security psychiatric facility overseen by Dr. Frederick Chilton, Lecter's new home. We needed to meet with Lecter, to see for ourselves. Lecter's Psychiatric Status: While psychologists sometimes label him a sociopath, he defies traditional criteria. He lacks remorse or guilt and "prefers to eat the rude", but his complex motivations are distinctly unique. Lecter holds an advanced medical degree and is a master of behavioral analysis and deduction. He maintains a "memory palace", which grants him a near-flawless recall of everything he has ever seen, read, or experienced. He despises standard psychological evaluations. Instead, he turns every conversation into a game of quid pro quo to probe the vulnerabilities and ambitions of those who interview him. Reads like a diary of a mad man. Well he played his little game with the wrong people this time. We met with him, he brought up Mom's name, he brought up Hef's name. This time his sick mind and intentions were his downfall. We knew we couldn't let him see another day; nobody threatens our Mom. So we arranged a prison transfer, Lecter's last ride. We used the DeLorean's on-board weapons system to destroy the transport vehicle. We confirmed his death and headed back home. Now we're drinking with Hef, celebrating Independence Day. With great power comes great responsibility; Mom and Hef prepared us well. Thank God they'll never know how close they came to being on the wrong end of Lecter's scalpel.

Iโm just as much a patriot as the next guy, but I love studying how psyops work. Today we celebrate the 4th of July as Independence Day, but it wasnโt always that way โ and the story behind it shows just how good our forefathers were at rallying people around a message, even when the message wasnโt the whole truth. Back in the day, the men working to forge a nation out of 13 colonies had to convince them to act as one โ and each colony pretty much distrusted the others. They needed something to unify a country that talked about โone peopleโ while acting like anything but.
Paul Revereโs famous engraving showed redcoats in a tidy firing line, mowing down innocent colonists in cold blood, with โButcherโs Hallโ printed right over the customs house door. Powerful propaganda โ and it worked. Boston even marked the anniversary every year with โMassacre Dayโ orations, using it to keep colonial anger alive and unified long before independence was ever declared.
But it wasnโt quite the truth. What actually happened started as a bar fight: a mob surrounded a lone sentry, pelting him with snowballs, ice, and oyster shells, and things spiraled from there into chaos and gunfire. It wasnโt an execution.
Hereโs the real twist: John Adams โ future President, and about as patriot as they came โ agreed to defend the British soldiers in court. He believed they deserved a fair trial. Six were acquitted outright, and the rest were branded on the thumb and cut loose.
Eventually, that yearly Massacre Day commemoration got replaced by a bigger celebration โ the 4th of July.
And now you know the rest of the story. Kind of like being told if you got the shot, you couldnโt get sick.

Got a letter from SSDI saying that they had documentation that I started a job and I need to report my income to them. I stopped getting disability six years ago after my husband got his job so we were really confused on why they sent it. My husband called them and they confirmed they closed my case in 2020 so they shared our confusion on why the letter was sent. In the end they said to just disregard it and call them back if we get anymore letters. It was a legitimate letter from them too so it was weird.

When you inherit your siblings lighter that got him grounded when he was 12 after your dad found the cigarettes he stole from the store. I shared a photo of it to my brother and he lost it laughing. My dad told him he would keep the lighter so if he does it a second time he'll light his cellphone on fire with it. My dad did not play at ALL and this just confirmed our suspicions that he meant it. ๐๐๐๐ I'm getting this tattooed on my arm to remember him by.

Another weekend is here, a very special weekend. School's been out for the Summer and we've been partying with our good neighbor, Hef. The party started July 1st, Canada Day, and will continue until July 4th, Independence Day. Mom has to work this weekend, so we've been at Hef's place since yesterday. Hef was a little upset when we drank all his beer. Fortunately for all of us, we had a few cases of beer stashed away. We just like to have a little fun with Hef. More importantly our time was split, and we were conflicted. We promised Mom we'd never use the DeLorean for evil. That being said, we need to seek evil out and destroy it whenever we can. Dr. Hannibal Lecter was in our sites, pure evil. So you guessed it, folks, the DeLorean rides again. Our destination: 1991, the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Maryland, a maximum-security psychiatric facility overseen by Dr. Frederick Chilton, Lecter's new home. We needed to meet with Lecter, to see for ourselves. Lecter's Psychiatric Status: While psychologists sometimes label him a sociopath, he defies traditional criteria. He lacks remorse or guilt and "prefers to eat the rude", but his complex motivations are distinctly unique. Lecter holds an advanced medical degree and is a master of behavioral analysis and deduction. He maintains a "memory palace", which grants him a near-flawless recall of everything he has ever seen, read, or experienced. He despises standard psychological evaluations. Instead, he turns every conversation into a game of quid pro quo to probe the vulnerabilities and ambitions of those who interview him. Reads like a diary of a mad man. Well he played his little game with the wrong people this time. We met with him, he brought up Mom's name, he brought up Hef's name. This time his sick mind and intentions were his downfall. We knew we couldn't let him see another day; nobody threatens our Mom. So we arranged a prison transfer, Lecter's last ride. We used the DeLorean's on-board weapons system to destroy the transport vehicle. We confirmed his death and headed back home. Now we're drinking with Hef, celebrating Independence Day. With great power comes great responsibility; Mom and Hef prepared us well. Thank God they'll never know how close they came to being on the wrong end of Lecter's scalpel.

Iโm just as much a patriot as the next guy, but I love studying how psyops work. Today we celebrate the 4th of July as Independence Day, but it wasnโt always that way โ and the story behind it shows just how good our forefathers were at rallying people around a message, even when the message wasnโt the whole truth.
Back in the day, the men working to forge a nation out of 13 colonies had to convince them to act as one โ and each colony pretty much distrusted the others. They needed something to unify a country that talked about โone peopleโ while acting like anything but.
Paul Revereโs famous engraving showed redcoats in a tidy firing line, mowing down innocent colonists in cold blood, with โButcherโs Hallโ printed right over the customs house door. Powerful propaganda โ and it worked. Boston even marked the anniversary every year with โMassacre Dayโ orations, using it to keep colonial anger alive and unified long before independence was ever declared.
But it wasnโt quite the truth. What actually happened started as a bar fight: a mob surrounded a lone sentry, pelting him with snowballs, ice, and oyster shells, and things spiraled from there into chaos and gunfire. It wasnโt an execution.
Hereโs the real twist: John Adams โ future President, and about as patriot as they came โ agreed to defend the British soldiers in court. He believed they deserved a fair trial. Six were acquitted outright, and the rest were branded on the thumb and cut loose.
Eventually, that yearly Massacre Day commemoration got replaced by a bigger celebration โ the 4th of July.
And now you know the rest of the story. Kind of like being told if you got the shot, you couldnโt get sick.

I hadnโt read the Declaration of Independence since high school history class. Ah, yes, history class! In fact we had American history throughout the tenth grade, then world history during our junior year. When I listen to the TikTok crowd spew the nonsense they champion today, I think how easily their knuckle-headed thinking could have been cured with a few good history classes. Alas, I donโt see much hope for the future, as long as the teachers in our urban areas are in the clutches of politicians and unions with a far different agenda from real education.
Now rereading the document for the first time in decades (shame on me for taking so long), I had forgotten that the bulk of the text is a list of grievances suffered by the American colonists at the hands of the king and various elements under his tyrannical regime. What has truly stunned me these 250 years later, however, is how familiar these grievances feel in our contemporary situation. Letโs take a peek at the exact text, and see if anything feels uncomfortably close to home (the โHeโ refers to King George, of course, and I will use the original spelling and punctuation):

Got a letter from SSDI saying that they had documentation that I started a job and I need to report my income to them. I stopped getting disability six years ago after my husband got his job so we were really confused on why they sent it. My husband called them and they confirmed they closed my case in 2020 so they shared our confusion on why the letter was sent. In the end they said to just disregard it and call them back if we get anymore letters. It was a legitimate letter from them too so it was weird.
