One of the recruiters here back in 2001 was in the old documentary film they showed. 224 I think was the class. He told me some dudes were on cycle during first phase. "They were the dudes that got bigger during hell week." Hell of a good dude. Not sure of the validity of his claims but either way.

One of the loneliest, and humbling places in life to be situated in, is a good old fashioned street fight where you’re running out of gas, no timeouts, no referees, and no rules. Give that one there a thinkin’, Gen Xer’s. “Proud of where my bones have been”.
When I was in HS call it 800 kids there was one who had a 6 pack and he was a body builder. Nowdays all these kids are on the roids as they think looking like a body builder is normal. Even Arnold Terminator confessed to his roid use and the heart problems it caused. These kids have no idea what these roids do to the body. What he was coughing up was produced by his lungs as a result of his heart not working properly. Its a foam not the usual thick shit you have when you have a chest infection. That accounts for the 4 bottles. At any other time he would have gone to the hospital. Just an immature kid and his mate the same. Then again if he was that sick one of the instructors should have spotted it let alone a doctor.

Thank you Senior for doing a video on this. To the younger members that want to go SF any branch, I hope this serves as a warning. I wish you all future SF or fleet, whatever you decide Senior does a great job of telling these stories. Stay away from those PEDs etc....your joining for a reason, just keep that in mind no matter where you end up!! Senior is a very smart and wise man!!

Don I agree. What would happen to a soldier if his chute did not deploy training to become a paratrooper. Todays military is not what it was 20 or more years ago. I must confess I had to call my Mom after every jump I did. She wanted me to call her that I was safe.lol. Seems a little gay but I did what she asked. Todays military is shameful. I could understand using drugs for combat, but taking drugs for a basic training program seems ludicrous, regardless of how difficult that training program is.
On a side note, if you’re going to use PEDs for something like BUDS, testosterone (or any other anabolic steroid or sarm) is a bad choice. Apart from the obvious benefits, it actually increases the risk of muscle tears. In weightlifting, the risk of tearing a muscle is fairly low because all you’re doing is lifting something heavy for like thirty seconds and then taking a four minute break between sets, and then taking a four day break before you work that particular muscle group again. But in BUDS, the slightest tear is only going to get more and more aggravated.
There are some drugs, like cardarine, that increase cardiovascular endurance and probably would help in BUDS. The trouble is it also causes rapid development of cancer in animal testing. Again, I could understand why a guy would use something like that if he was about to storm the beaches of Normandy…but not in a fucking training program.

Went to the Doc today for routine follow up….. vitals, bloodwork for my thyroid levels. BP was a bit high, on Losartin, but when Doc took it the old fashioned way it was 140/82. Checking pulse and heart with the stethoscope she stopped and ordered an ECG. Gal knocked on the door within 5 min, small cart with a 12 lead. Amazing, it was done in about another 5 mins and the sticky pads were removed with the wire connection….. usually you get those big pads tha stick to your chest hair, ouch! Well anyway, She believes I have A Fib and I am scheduling a scan and 14 day monitor for next week. In the meantime it’s baby aspirin everyday. I also received my consult with a surgeon for my Umbilical hernia, I have been putting off for over 5 yrs. Ok enough of the Hippo Violations lol 😆 I’m long winded and ready for bed…… and a bit nervous, Thanks for letting me vent!

It's certainly easily within the US Navy's capability to run a echo-cardiogram on every Buds recruit prior to starting. With insurance, they cost me about 150 bucks and they would show an enlarged heart and give the Navy a very good picture of a recruits heart status. Probably total cost for a years worth of classes would be no more than one of these drones that the US government is giving to Ukraine to ram fireworks into the side of the Kremlin building. I don't see whats wrong with doing tests like these on elite troops anyway. Test them and if they check out OK, run the dog shit out of them with impunity. They spend all this money on them. They should know what their buying.

On Memorial Day my kids that are out of the house came and had dinner with us. Every Memorial Day I tell the kids about the great grandfathers, and grandfathers, fathers, uncles, a few aunts and cousins that served in the military. My parents were raised by the silent generation (the greatest generation). The silent generation let their actions do the talking for them, and that rubbed off on my parents, and that rubbed off on me. I hope it rubbed off on my own kids. There were a few times my dad made sure it rubbed off on me. I was raised to follow instructions, if I was not sure about something then I needed to be smart and figure it out and do it right the first time or make it right, and eat what ever was put on a plate in front of me, and never complain because complaining never fixed anything. We had a guy kicked out in boot camp because they took drug tests upon arrival. Back then things went slow and the test results came back 5 weeks later. (probably mostly administrative delays pushing the paperwork around through NTC/RTC).
Apparently he took some amphetamines before he got on the plane to fly out to San Diego. He thought he could come clean and admit it right away "give me another chance" ... but nope! He knew about the drug policy, he filled out those forms saying he never did drugs and no F*ing way, you don't get another chance.
A loud mouth Texan he was the only one acting "Joe Military", talking about being a "30 year man" and crap like that.
BTW, I think we're about 2 generations past Gen X. Gen Y (now usually called Millennials) started coming of age around the year 2000, All the guys under 23 are gen Z but a few Millennials over 23 would still be showing up joining the military.

Thanks for an inside look into BUDS and the BUDS training Senior. It's clearly not for everyone, definitely not for the fella with the enlarged heart. The intense training combined with the p.e drugs was a fatal cocktail. I feel bad, and my heart goes out to that guy's family, but I really hope they don't change the BUDS training because of it. Thanks again for the inside look Senior. Not everyone is built like you Senior, and able just to push through that training and see it through to the end. Here's to BUDS class 131...

What he was coughing up was produced by his lungs as a result of his heart not working properly. Its a foam not the usual thick shit you have when you have a chest infection. That accounts for the 4 bottles. At any other time he would have gone to the hospital. Just an immature kid and his mate the same. Then again if he was that sick one of the instructors should have spotted it let alone a doctor.

Thank you Senior for doing a video on this. To the younger members that want to go SF any branch, I hope this serves as a warning. I wish you all future SF or fleet, whatever you decide Senior does a great job of telling these stories. Stay away from those PEDs etc....your joining for a reason, just keep that in mind no matter where you end up!! Senior is a very smart and wise man!!

Don I agree. What would happen to a soldier if his chute did not deploy training to become a paratrooper. Todays military is not what it was 20 or more years ago.

I could understand using drugs for combat, but taking drugs for a basic training program seems ludicrous, regardless of how difficult that training program is.
On a side note, if you’re going to use PEDs for something like BUDS, testosterone (or any other anabolic steroid or sarm) is a bad choice. Apart from the obvious benefits, it actually increases the risk of muscle tears. In weightlifting, the risk of tearing a muscle is fairly low because all you’re doing is lifting something heavy for like thirty seconds and then taking a four minute break between sets, and then taking a four day break before you work that particular muscle group again. But in BUDS, the slightest tear is only going to get more and more aggravated.
There are some drugs, like cardarine, that increase cardiovascular endurance and probably would help in BUDS. The trouble is it also causes rapid development of cancer in animal testing. Again, I could understand why a guy would use something like that if he was about to storm the beaches of Normandy…but not in a fucking training program.

Went to the Doc today for routine follow up….. vitals, bloodwork for my thyroid levels. BP was a bit high, on Losartin, but when Doc took it the old fashioned way it was 140/82. Checking pulse and heart with the stethoscope she stopped and ordered an ECG. Gal knocked on the door within 5 min, small cart with a 12 lead. Amazing, it was done in about another 5 mins and the sticky pads were removed with the wire connection….. usually you get those big pads tha stick to your chest hair, ouch! Well anyway, She believes I have A Fib and I am scheduling a scan and 14 day monitor for next week. In the meantime it’s baby aspirin everyday. I also received my consult with a surgeon for my Umbilical hernia, I have been putting off for over 5 yrs. Ok enough of the Hippo Violations lol 😆 I’m long winded and ready for bed…… and a bit nervous, Thanks for letting me vent!

It's certainly easily within the US Navy's capability to run a echo-cardiogram on every Buds recruit prior to starting. With insurance, they cost me about 150 bucks and they would show an enlarged heart and give the Navy a very good picture of a recruits heart status. Probably total cost for a years worth of classes would be no more than one of these drones that the US government is giving to Ukraine to ram fireworks into the side of the Kremlin building. I don't see whats wrong with doing tests like these on elite troops anyway. Test them and if they check out OK, run the dog shit out of them with impunity. They spend all this money on them. They should know what their buying.

On Memorial Day my kids that are out of the house came and had dinner with us. Every Memorial Day I tell the kids about the great grandfathers, and grandfathers, fathers, uncles, a few aunts and cousins that served in the military. My parents were raised by the silent generation (the greatest generation). The silent generation let their actions do the talking for them, and that rubbed off on my parents, and that rubbed off on me. I hope it rubbed off on my own kids. There were a few times my dad made sure it rubbed off on me. I was raised to follow instructions, if I was not sure about something then I needed to be smart and figure it out and do it right the first time or make it right, and eat what ever was put on a plate in front of me, and never complain because complaining never fixed anything. We had a guy kicked out in boot camp because they took drug tests upon arrival.
Back then things went slow and the test results came back 5 weeks later. (probably mostly administrative delays pushing the paperwork around through NTC/RTC).
Apparently he took some amphetamines before he got on the plane to fly out to San Diego.
He thought he could come clean and admit it right away "give me another chance" ... but nope!
He knew about the drug policy, he filled out those forms saying he never did drugs and no F*ing way, you don't get another chance.
A loud mouth Texan he was the only one acting "Joe Military", talking about being a "30 year man" and crap like that.
BTW, I think we're about 2 generations past Gen X. Gen Y (now usually called Millennials) started coming of age around the year 2000,
All the guys under 23 are gen Z but a few Millennials over 23 would still be showing up joining the military.

Thanks for an inside look into BUDS and the BUDS training Senior. It's clearly not for everyone, definitely not for the fella with the enlarged heart. The intense training combined with the p.e drugs was a fatal cocktail. I feel bad, and my heart goes out to that guy's family, but I really hope they don't change the BUDS training because of it. Thanks again for the inside look Senior. Not everyone is built like you Senior, and able just to push through that training and see it through to the end. Here's to BUDS class 131...
