Love the shirt! I was away for two weeks and missed most of this. I did not know you needed a permit to transport a Blue Jay! New one to me! I think it is best that Jay stayed at the farm. Thats his turf and his home. I was worried he may become stressed and pass if taken from his home. Hopefully the tenant takes good care of him! Have you ordered you first Pizza yet?

I'm sure that you are going to miss being able to walk to the water and get oysters and crabs , ut i understand the part of getting older, a d not physically being able to do the things, that you could do 10 years ago, and Diane wanting to be closer to family. He'll i am 3 years older than you, Don and I have permanent damage to my body. 2 bad knees, a pinched nerve in my left shoulder, and neuropathy in y feet. But I still think that im 30, and work, and I never complain about the pain. I pay for it, for a couple of days, then I get back up and do it again.

Herman and me was talking a week or two ago about the cost of home internet, I said internet by it’s self was costing me $135/month and I was tired of paying that much. Yesterday I got an a mail from MINT (my cell provider) saying I could get UNLIMITED 5G home internet for $35/month, 6 months free and price locked in for 5 years! FUCK YEAH!!!! SIGN ME UP!!! Don and Mrs Diane talk about nothing being available at Maryland, well I can get pizza delivered to my home BUT can’t get cheap internet! I called a couple other companies in the past, same story, ‘Yeah we’ll put ya on a waiting list’ only I’m pretty sure they’re still waiting to make a list! Ok, gripe session over.
Fishing with dad! I grew up in the Deep South—think Gone with the Wind— my dad had made a strange pact with mom: he wouldn’t take part in raising me until I hit eight. And when that day came Holy hell. Every weekend after that was a crucible. A test of courage, whether I was ready or not. By ten, we’d moved out West, Yountville CA. for a spell what an adventure each weekend turned into something more like trials. Fishing at Bodega Bay. Nothing extreme—or so I thought. Just a lazy afternoon outside the channel, dropping anchor off Bodega Head, and pulling up fish like crazy. We were hauling them in too, the trawlers pulled their nets up right before heading down the channel and it was a loaded laughing, cocky. Life was good. But the ocean is a trickster—it turns in a heartbeat. The swells began to rise, slow at first, then meaner, hungrier. When we tried to haul up the anchor, it wouldn’t budge. Stuck hard. Dad swung the boat in circles, tighter and tighter, engine straining, waves pounding. Thirty brutal minutes, my knuckles white, before the anchor finally ripped free. Dad muttered under his breath, “Was about to cut it loose…” And then came the gut punch: we ran out of gas. Floundering dead in the water, sea growing teeth all around us. The boat drifted like a toy, helpless. I could feel the panic clawing at the edges I spotted it—off to the right, maybe five hundred yards out—a U.S. Coast Guard tearing straight at us, full speed, bow exploding through the surf like a missile. Dad didn’t flinch. He was already moving, splashing gas into the outboard, voice sharp as a blade: “Listen! If I tell you to jump, you climb those rocks! Press your head into them so the waves can’t smash it—just like we practiced! Don’t worry about anything else, you hear me?” My mouth went dry. This wasn’t practice anymore. This was life or death. And then—against all odds—the little Evinrude sputtered. Coughed. Caught. Dad spun the boat hard, pointing us straight into the swells. Hell we have to go back through them now We didn’t ride them—we fought them, clawing our way up the wrong side of the waves, the sea trying to shove us back down. I crawled to the bow, clinging to the railing, every muscle screaming, salt spray blinding me. And then it happened—a monster wave broke over us, the sound like an explosion. It slammed the boat, tore gear loose, and sent it crashing into the sea. I held on, drenched, heart hammering, staring into the chaos. Somehow, we made it. Beaten, soaked, half-empty swamped boat—but alive. And just when I thought we’d cheated death, the Coast Guard cutter slowed as we limped out of the breakers. A bullhorn crackled, the voice sharp and unforgiving: “HEY! This is a three-hundred-yard no-fishing zone!” Dad and I just looked at each other, dripping, exhausted,as were bailing, gear gone to the deep. Yeah, okay. Still—we knew those Coast Guard guys were there to save our ass if it came to that. I’ll bet they were just as relieved as we were. That day, the ocean showed me its true face—wild, merciless, beautiful. And somehow, against all logic, I walked away yeah I fucking love the ocean! Doing much better guys thanks for your prayers! coughing and my lungs and rumbling and vibrating way down low havent felt that in a while sometimes ya just gota hang on and have have faith!

The bloke that died in the car crash was one of those party animal dwarfs. Basically driving the biggest truck on the market, if he had his seat belt on, he would have slid out of it. Im surprised he could see out of it. Was driving like a maniac on the way home from shearing and rumour has it he was in convoy.
In 1912, near the Badlands of South Dakota, a Lakota tracker named Amos Red Elk forged an unlikely friendship with a reclusive trapper named Silas McKeen. Silas, a Civil War orphan from Ohio, had wandered west with a rifle and a dog, building a life of solitude along the edge of the Pine Ridge Reservation. Locals called him “Ghost Man” because he rarely spoke and was always seen just before storms. Amos had been raised in tradition—his grandfather fought at Little Bighorn, and his mother taught him to read the wind and water like scripture. One autumn, Amos found Silas injured in the hills, a rusted bear trap clamped around his leg. He brought him back to his own camp and nursed him through frostbite and fever. At first, Silas resisted—mistrusting the Lakota the way many white men did—but Amos said little, only lit the fire and sang soft in Lakota while the wind howled outside. By spring, the two were sharing hunts, teaching each other languages, and drinking coffee boiled over pinewood fires. Silas taught Amos how to tan with smoke, and Amos showed Silas how to move with the buffalo-never head-on, always in rhythm. They became local legends. In 1915, when a blizzard buried the trail to Rapid City, the pair delivered medicine on snowshoes to a dying child, saving his life. When asked why, Silas only said, "My brother said we go." Amos passed in 1939, Silas two winters later. Their graves are side by side near a ridge of twisted pine. No family by blood. But brothers, all the same.

The hunt continues. The wife and 15 year old son were taken into custody last night, but released without charge. A number of properties, sheds, shacks have been raided. Police are dropping flash bangs from choppers into the dense bush I suspect in reaction to thermal targets. Gunna be scaring the shit out of a lot of Roos and Wombats. Navy SEALs wouldnt go into that bush on foot against a long arm, youre going to lose one man to a sniper shot maybe more, the hunters becoming the hunted is a real possibility. You cant see more than a few feet in front of you, the ground is a tangle of fallen trees, giant tree ferns and hidden chasms that result in a few people going missing every year never to be seen again.

Dad muttered under his breath, “Was about to cut it loose…”
And then came the gut punch: we ran out of gas.

My mouth went dry.
A bullhorn crackled, the voice sharp and unforgiving:

That day, the ocean showed me its true face—wild, merciless, beautiful. And somehow, against all logic, I walked away yeah I fucking love the ocean!

When asked why, Silas only said, "My brother said we go."
Amos passed in 1939, Silas two winters later.

Great video D&D, your new home looks very nice. I'm sure you'll have it where you want it to be by Christmas. Get the fencing in order, let the dogs run, and serve up some new phonies. So happy for both of you. Manchu, h, and I will probably show up for supper one night. You thought dealing with phonies was taxing...🍁

Good to see Dr Shipley and Nurse Diane in the new digs, having a horse next door is always good value. Diane looks over the moon and Don is looking forward to opening his practice in the granny flat.
One at a time girls.
