I understand the frustration of trying to diagnose medical issues. My brain scans found that I actually had one much to my wife's dismay lol. Seems that being knocked out, punched, thrown into walls, and being in an Abrams tank while its main gun is fired isn't great for the old noggin. Hope you get answers you need and deserve.

I went through some neurological issues that sounds similar to yours and it turned out to be tied in with my six back surgeries that I have had for my time in the Navy . I am 56 and I just had an intrathecal pain pump put into left abdomen to manage my back pain so I totally understand the changes you're going through. It took him forever to figure out what was going on. But let me tell you, this pump which has morphine in it, has literally given me my life back so hopefully they'll come up with some type of treatment for you that does the same that allows you to continue entertaining us the way you do. I am fortunate that I am married to a Brazilian and I live in Brazil because the medical care here is a million times better than the United States and I'm 100% total and permanent through the VA! I just jave to turn in my receipts through the foreign medical program through the VA and as long as what I have done correlates with my disabilities they reimburse me. I know I don't have to tell you to keep fighting great attitude because that comes naturally for you. Thinking about you. OS2 Mike Welke

Question: has anyone donated things to DHHS or shelters before? I just raided my closet to get rid of things that are too big for me and I also went through my doll clothes to get rid of as well. All the baby clothes are size newborn and the clothes I'm getting rid of are L XL. I was thinking of donating them to DHHS but I don't know if they'll take them because they're used. The clothes aren't stained or raggy looking but I want them to go to a place that will benefit people who are in a rough place and not a store that just wants to profit off them. I also don't know if I need to let them know that I'm donating or if I can just go into the building and drop it off. If anyone has insight I would love to hear it. Thanks!

A Marine hero from Jacksonville is one step closer to receiving the nation’s highest military award, the Medal of Honor.
Retired Marine Major James Capers Jr. has officially been approved for the honor after Congress passed the legislation and President Donald Trump signed it into law in March. A White House ceremony to present the Medal of Honor is scheduled for June 18.
Capers, now 88 years old, served during the Vietnam War. During a fierce battle in Phu Loc in 1967, he continued leading and protecting his Marines even after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He is credited with helping save the lives of the Marines under his command

"I came ashore with just an M-1 rifle. As the fellas you were trained with got wiped away, you'd fill in with another weapon. They'd call you forward with mortars or machine guns. I fired the bazooka, the .30-caliber machine gun, the .50-caliber machine gun -- and the flamethrower. We had a Ka-Bar knife that we carried in our leggings. I used it to open C-ration cans and to do stuff I don't want printed in the newspaper.
.
There was a cave where the Japanese had us stopped. It had to be some kind of office for Japanese troops. There was a huge rock in front of it. They had a Nambu machine gun -- the fastest-firing weapon the Japanese had -- in front of the cave. I got the machine-gunner with the flamethrower. He was one guy who wasn't going to go back and tell any stories.
Then I laid the flamethrower on top of the rock and put a burst in the cave. What the flamethrower does is dry up all the oxygen and wipes you completely out. It takes your skin off down to the bone. Nothing left. No matter who was in there, how many, they were gone.
I didn't hear much screaming. Everyone that was inside the cave was fried.
One guy got brave. He was ahead of the flame, just behind the rock, and he took off after I shot the burst. He ran by me, heading for an old shell crater with water in it. As he went by me, I let him have a spurt. He was screaming for a little bit. I made sure he was dead." - U.S Marine Stanley A. There is an old underground oven here, a relic from the 1870s.
The Grandchildren bought it and are resurrection it at $100 an hour.

I took the Stone Mason 2 cans of beer, $50 note, and a PIECE OF PAPER AND A PEN.
I said write me down the formula for these rocks, the lime mortar, the secret sauce,
So he did, Im home and hosed, he loves me.
7 parts this 2 parts that 5 parts the other one, make it stiff not sloppy, leave it for a day. Use this, not that, GENIUS ME.

So Im now on the payroll, he needs help, I am to hold the tape measure for ten minutes a day for 100 buckaroos he has to pay someone 100 bucks just to come here. So Im cheap, hello Mick, hold this no worries be there in 5.

I passed the test, I helped him measure the kiln, is 420 x 440, that is square in my book after 150 years. He reckons is was 400 x 400 when it was built.

Hes got more work than he can possibly do, booked up 10 years in advance, take this advice, have your kids become stone masons.

Don its just 50 years of pushing yourself into the ground, father time is catching up to all of us. Theres a woman down here who can smell Parkinson's before it is diagnosed.

Ten years out is her longest diagnosis. She stands in line and sniffs and says to old mate go and see the Doctor, the merchant of doom. They havent been able to isolate what she smells, but its real. Theres another real Doctor here who can pick it up by a persons gait.

I am sure Senior and Diane made their peace long ago. There is a comfort in that...

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, "The LORD is my refuge," and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long
life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." *Psalm 91 (NIV)

I had some symptoms of ataxia with balance and coordination but it was not as severe as what Don describes.
In addition to sometimes having to check my balance I would do things like just put down a cup and it would spill. (not thinking about it, the same cup, my same arm and the same table or stand from the same seating I always used).

It went away at the same time I figured out I had dermatitis herpetiformis so it is one of the autoimmune forms of Ataxia.
This is gluten ataxia in people who have celiac disease or gluten intolerance at some level.

If it was gluten ataxia there should be other symptoms like dermatitis herpetiformis which can be rash like bumps or areas with psoriasis-like lesions. I got those around my wrists, sometime on the lower arms and the bottom of my legs (but they could be in other places).

There would probably also be other celiac symptoms like bloating, bowel irregularities or feeling anemic at times. (you don't need to have full blown worst case autoimmune celiac to have some of the other symptoms).

The very existence of gluten ataxia is one of those many debatable health issues because ...

- while the research branch of medicine has pointed this out the "treat the heard" docs may say "you haven't proven this is even a thing.

- while gluten is getting tagged, it is associated with an increase of autoimmune and other problems that exploded in the early to mid 90s at the same time idiot farmers started putting glyphosate on everything.
For example glyphosate is put on wheat to "kill it" all at the same time so the harvest is more regular with every stalk of wheat ready at the same time. Wheat is harvested before the rain can wash much of it off.

In that case, glyphosate kills healthy gut bacteria starting the chain of events where "leaky gut" (another debated health subject) lets gluten, glyphosate and other nasty things inside causing any autoimmune problems.
The fact that some people have symptoms and others don't doesn't mean anything, it's like other diseases in that sense.
