Neighbors dog got excited about a deer that wanded into the yard. I looked out the window to see the deer stomping the dog a few times to let him know who was boss. dog was tied up so he had no way of running. when she felt ok she just walked away while the dog shivered in fright. The deer doesn't look healthy. they wander up my way from a wooded area when food gets scarce. Hopefully she'll find her way home without getting run over.

So a great Christmas all around. Following MrsNH's lead, we had a traditional Swedish Smorgasbord of ham, salami, some sort of famers cheese and a brown goat cheese( both were amazing), Jansson's Temptation(think hash browns in a creamy sauce with a touch of anchovy) Potatis Korv (a fantastic potato and pork sausage), Sweet gherkin pickles. The cheese is an appetizer and on knäckebröd (spelling is a cut and paste from the web) and they top it with Sill (some sort of pickled fish). I can't stand the latter. The good news is we make Glugg, which is a kind of mulled wine with high alcohol booze. Heavy on the port wine so I had a sip and returned to Titos and soda.

Sounds great! but the down side is I spent the last few days not knowing what the fuck was going on. The two of them speaking Swedish not only to themselves but to the kids.
