A paramedic has relived her disbelief as she watched a police officer fatally taser a great-grandmother with dementia.

A NSW Supreme Court jury found White guilty of manslaughter in November 2024.

He was sentenced to a two-year good behaviour bond in March 2025, a decision that was later upheld by the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal

During the two-minute and 40-second encounter at Yallambee Lodge, White drew his stun gun and pointed it at Mrs Nowland for a minute before saying 'nah, bugger it' and discharging the weapon at her chest.

The 36-year-old Cooma man was removed from the force in December 2024.

He took action against NSW Police in the Industrial Relations Commission to regain his position but dropped that bid in August.

I am going to name my next Son Gatlinburg which will be easier for him than Wooloomooloo at Kinda.

I'm coming up on my 65th. birthday, and my one regret was that I never got to serve in the military. My father was in the U.S. Air Force then served 28 years as a NYC Transit Police Officer. I tried joing the Air Force twice, but both times my father told the recruiter to get me out. I never knew why. I did join the NYC Police Dept. and only served 7 years because of a LOD injury. Anyway, as I watch these videos I gain more and more respect for you not only as a SEAL, but as a man. You were a good father to your boy and an even better husband to your wife. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your life. God's speed.

Had a customer get in my face today to the point I started crying over a change issue with the register. My manager put her in her place when she called the store to complain telling her if she yelled at one of her workers again she will not be welcome back into the store. My husband told me I should quit and save my sanity because he gives me half his paycheck every two weeks so me having a job is just causing more problems than there needs to be.

I got tears watching this video. Had a nephew who was born that never could walk. Died at 18 but was so smart. His toughness through all of it was amasing.

I've been following this series and I gotta say that watching this one, I was pretty damned ashamed at what little I've done for others in comparison. You were given amazing opportunities to serve others and you gave abundantly. I guess that's one reason that you have so many friends and admirers. You SHOULD tell this story. People should know what you've done with your life. Maybe some of it will rub off on others.

PS. In my judgement, what defines Don Shipley as a man is not the Navy Seals. That may be the first thing that the world sees but there's a lot more to you than that.
