I love fried greed tomatoes, and I love pit bulls! We've owned one for about five years. She was a two-year-old rescue who had been used for breeding and then dumped. She went through a lot of separation anxiety when we first got her. We discovered she was a furry alligator when she chewed some of my electronic devices into pulp and demolished a ceramic bowl. She also ate up a lot of our shoes, one of my vinyl records, and perforated and dented a tin can of food that I had left in a grocery bag by the front door. It took a few months, but she finally settled once she figured out we were not abandoning her every time we left for work. She integrated well with our two cats and two chihuahua mixes and mothered one of the chihuahuas one morning while he died of heart failure (verified by our vet) at the age of fourteen. She was still lying beside him when we woke up. The other chihuahua passed of pancreatic failure, and one of the cats from old age. Our pittie is best friends with our remaining cat. She also enjoys the company of the doves and mocking birds that come into the backyard for water. She chases away an owl and and a hawk that occasionally comes after them. She will chase the neighbors' cats from the yard, but that's about it. She has never attempted to kill another animal, though I have no doubt she can dismantle anything she wants. After all, a dog that can eat tin cans, ceramic and electronics without so much as chipping a tooth is a force to be reckoned with. Powerful as she is, she's a dog just like any other well cared for and loved K-9 in the world. Time will tell whether she goes nuts in the coming years like people tend to speculate, but so far, I'm just not seeing it. They just don't know they're own strength and can be awfully harsh when playing. They can be taught, though. We train ours without striking her. We don't raise our hands to her in any way. Pits are smart enough to learn through non-violent methods. She understands and respects the hierarchy. IMHO, pitties are the best dogs on earth if raised properly. They just won't eat fried green tomatoes.

I watched the Pa. Senatorial debate yesterday. My wife summed it up nicely. Federman is a shoe in. The voters of Pennsylvania elected a man for president that hid in his basement rather than campaign. He has prooved to be lacking mentally. Federman is worse than Joe, so he should do well this election cycle. He should spend less time on the road and ensure his election to Senator. The Democrats may be looking at their replacement for Biden.

Dante was brought home at about 8months under the toot elide of 3 yr old Bentley. Bentley remained the Alpha throughout their lives…… did Dante have battles with Racoons and Skunks yes he did, almost always victorious…. Maybe a bit stinky?
These were my old roomies dogs in the Manrage, Dave and I still miss them both. My youngest boys grew up with them and Nick, my youngest, was close to Dante. I believe there are inherent traits in the breed but having a mix brought up at 8 months with love and family closeness was the solution in Dave’s experience!
The real bastard was Bentley, always in charge and would cause trouble with dogs 3x his size. RIP Bentley and Dante…. 2017/2019 both over 13 yrs. 🙏

If someone cut off your tail and ears, and forced you to fight for food, you'd be a bit edgy too. Had a family friend in her 80's that had a pitty and it was just as sweet as could be. But she always said it has fighting in it's blood so you have to be careful not to turn that switch on. Ain't no different than keeping large cats or bears. Today they love you and tomorrow they eat you.

pit bull- is a musclehead- no they dont hunt they fight in a pit- my in law liked those dogs- he had a pair that he tried to keep fenced but they got out a lot- he lived in a sparsely populated hilly area- those two dogs killed all the neighbors pets in a large area- my niece had me help her cage a pit bull because the neighbor's dogs were out- that dog lost all sense- i was pulling it along by it's collar while it leaned forward walking only on it's back legs- it's head was wobbling bak and forth as it leaned forward on the collar as i semi dragged it to a pen- that dog went loopy- musclehead- something else> diane mentioned that two guys were trying to get a pitbull off of a smaller dog with some kind of rope- man dont be shy- that flyswatter aint going to work if u have a few seconds to rescue a person or an animal from a pit bull attack- kill that mutt now pick it up and spike it on a t-post- grab it by its bak legs and whirl it around and smash it against a post or wall- put your foot in it like u mean it- really> dont be shy on a rescue- hit that mutt

I agree Don, pit bulls will turn! My ex wife’s nephew, who was a dick and deserved it, but he had a pit for years! One day him and his wife were playing around and he raised his hand like he was gonna hit her and the dog ripped his arm apart! However he was a douche bag and probably mean with the dog but still a chihuahua couldn’t do that kind of damage! Also I knew a guy feeding a stray pit. He went to feed him one day and it attacked him unprovoked!!! I’d feel safer if my grandkids were not around one I do know that much!
