Attempted to explain the drain on the grid that EV's will cause to my local dumb fucker. How large is the power drop coming into your house? Lets say 150 Amps because it an older home. Now you;ll need to up that when you bring home your electric car unless you plan on sitting at the local fast charge station for a couple hrs ever day. Now when all the neighbors get their EV's the tranformer feeding your house will need bumped up along with the feed to it. Then when the people on the block next to yours get their car they need the same upgrade. And of course the local power company is going to do all these upgrades for free. Next thing ya know the transmission lines feeding this valley will need upgraded.... see where this is going. He scratched his head and said the power company should pay to keep the power up. Just wasted 15 minutes of my day

Momma Bear looking good! Glad she will be able to go home. Think we all been through the doctor routine. Some are good others money hungry. My ladies father was in a nursing home and we had to be super proactive. He developed shingles and was admitted to the hospital. When they see good insurance, wanted to do every test under the sun. Was actually hard getting him out of there. (Hospital). And when we would show up couple times a week to visit at the nursing home it keeps them on their toes. Good job Don and Diane. Small fact about how gauge came about with shotguns. One would think a 20 would be bigger than a 12 being a higher number. Actually the opposite. If you took a lb of lead and made 12 equal balls the circumference of 1 ball would be 12 ga. Hence why 1 of 20 balls would be smaller. Doesn't apply to a 410. Hope Everyone is having a good day.

God Bless you two for caring for mom--I had disastrous back surgery several years ago and spent 1.5 yrs on massive doses of oxycodone along with a fentanyl patch--finally decided to quit cold turkey--it took a terrible toll on me--I got down to 116 pounds and looked skeletal. Bonnie was like a guardian angel and helped nurse me back to health--nothing like a woman's touch. Look into a Remington 1100 automatic 20 gauge--mine never missfired in 30 years of hunting--same for 12 gauge for 40 years.

So we celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act with an 8.3 % inflation number. Maybe the Reduction part was meant for how my usable income has Reduced since the bill. Maybe the Moron should spend more time on vacation. It costs me money everytime he comes near the White House.

Sadly medications are a standard procedure with some nursing homes🤬. Don’t have the people to keep on top of the patients? Medicate them to make them sleep. Slackers on staff? Medicate🤬.

Good news, Mom Shipley looked pretty good and alert!

They make mistakes with old people for sure.

The way my Grandfather died in his early-mid 90s is he was still living at his house, he had mild problems like a little ataxia (losing some coordination) but nothing serious, in fact he had Post Polio Syndrome mildly and some arthritis which had been getting better over the last decade.

He fell into a huge cast iron tub and couldn't get out. They were visiting him every 2 or three days.
When my father came he couldn't get in so he called the cops as he would be breaking down the door.

They got him out of a tub and he could walk over to the couch and sit down, he wanted my dad to stay there, he would drink a little water, then some juice get re-hydrated and he'd be fine.
He absolutely did Not! want to go to a hospital.

Unfortunately the cop thought EMS should be called just in case (or maybe to cover his ass), the EMS guy was apparently a "my way or the highway - I'm in charge here" jackass and insisted my Grandfather be taken to the hospital.
The cop eventually took the side of the EMS jerk, and my dad gave in and they took him to the hospital against his will.
At the hospital they thought he may have had a little fluid in his lungs but before they stuck a tube in they gave him narcotic pain killers.

My grandfather had never taken a pain killer in his life, they gave him the pain killer and down he went.

So one could say it was incompetent medical staff but the EMS guy was also a total jerk. There are cops in my family and my Grandfather retired as a captain in the FD so my dad knew the cop. The cop later apologized for agreeing with the EMS clown after the funeral.
