You do a great job Don and everyone's time is worth something retired or not. I've been a big fan of your work for I don't know how many years. A good verification takes time and work and there is nothing more genuine than coming from a man as dedicated and with such a vested interest in furthering the integrity of those that actually serve. Keep up the good work and say hello to Dianne, you guys are golden. From CANADA! Cheers guys.

Tell your Geneva to eat shit.

I was 12 and out hunting for woodchucks on my schools 1,500 Acre plot near Millbrook, NY.

I was carrying a .22 rifle with about 6 rounds of .22 SHORTS. I stepped in a hole in the field and although having the safety ON, the rifle slipped off my shoulder, and hit my left arch of my foot and discharged. Hurt like hell and I walked about a mile back to the dorm. When I took my hunting boot off, I saw some blood and told my Mom, who told my Dad, I wasn't so stupid to tell him in person.

Transported to Vassar General Hosp, in Poughkeepsie, NY where they removed the fragments and parts of the boot and socks. 3 incisions across the arch, so the foot retained normal flexibility ! Played college football at UNC and Syracuse. Drafted into San Diego Chargers, 4th round. Played for Buffalo Bills and NY Giants. NJSP made you run 5 miles in 35 minutes in jump boots in platoon formation in step to graduate. Done !

Still doesn't bother me, but when people ask me if I was ever shot ? I can answer truthfully, just not that I did to myself !

Polar Bear, with Shorts ? Send the guy to a Zoo that has Polar bears !

Best to you and your Wife,
Big Will

Great video Senior, one of your best. That Aussie is probably one of Mick's good buddies. I've been around long enough and seen enough of your videos to know you're very thorough and on point with all SEAL verifications. You expose them very easily, but being the fair and kind man you are, you always try and give them away out. A chance for them to come clean and correct that wrong. Always being the bigger man, where most phonies always fall short. Being a Canadian I can speak for all of us here on the site. It's always a treat when you do a PNSOTW video, there's never gonna be an end to these clowns. Being Its hug a Canadian day, I'll expect a lot of heart felt tributes tonight on the Saturday night videos. Thanks, Senior, for the nice shout-out to your Northern neighbors, and thank you for everything you and Diane do for all of us here at ESE. Now I must prepare for the flood of hugs coming my way from the South...๐Ÿ

Pay vs Free! and the way people react to that is a principle that comes up over and over again.

- A large Church wants to do something for the congregation so they offer a presentation on savings and retirement from a local guy who normally charges thousands of dollars to talk to a group about savings, insurance, 401k plans etc.

- The tickets are free and 200 people grab those free tickets.

- They decide to make it a treat and cater Subway or whatever for 200 people.

- 40 people show up.

Had they asked even 15 bucks for tickets they would have had something like 90 percent attendance.
Of course there are always those people who think they should get $180 dollars of value for a $15 ticket.

I verified a fake SEAL claim for a friend of a guy who has two years to live suffering from stomach cancer. The claim was very specific, he was a sniper in Vietnam, he graduated East Coast UDT Class 45, and was assigned to SEAL Team Two, but his name wasn't listed.
I checked Class 45 East Coast in the database and of the 15 men that graduated only ONE man was assigned to SEAL Team Two.

When fake claims get specific like this one, I start searching the Internet to see where the claim was stolen from. What notable SEAL had that information posted in his bio on-line?

Anyone want to search a bit and see who that claim was stolen from?

I replied back that it was all BS and I'll bet he doesn't have cancer either...

BUDS131

09/09/2023
12:39:06

He never claimed to be a SEAL, I think he mentioned something about UDT or maybe I am mixing UDT in somehow because I read Roy Boehm's book a few years back. He mentioned some dive training, that he did frogman missions, but he did not say his training was called BUDS, all he said was that if he had been in the Navy in the Vietnam period or after he might have been a SEAL because he had done a lot of different special missions... he said he had a lot of respect for the sort of things SEALs were known to do. I think I only heard any of his war stories once or twice, very often only once. He had to be in the right mood, and you could tell that some of the memories grated on his nerves. My only living granddad was a few hours away, so he was kind of a granddad to me, and as I grew older, a friend. I don't know if his kids have researched his military record.

He did mention diving, encountering enemy divers and sending them topside by hacking their hoses with a hatchet (he showed me a Japanese style one that he said he preferred for that job), getting into big trouble with officers for not using proper technique and equipment, doing drug den raids as an SP in the Philippines, parachuting into Borneo to find a lost air crew, getting busted from 1st class back to 3rd (some fight with an officer was the straw that broke the...) and being assigned to Alaska on a shit job to run a sled dog team over the pack ice and look for Russian radio relays and blow them up. He said that the M1 they gave him would freeze up, so he had to order a bolt-action 30-.06 from the SEARS catalog, refused to go out on mission until he got it, which pissed off his superiors, and he would eat seals (the animal) that he poached with .22 shorts from a revolver. I fired that revolver, nice little 4-inch double action kit gun, I seem to remember it was a Colt, if I remember correctly I had to pull back the cylinder release, not push in or forward like Ruger or Smith. He claims a polar bear came after him when his rifle was in the wrong side of the sled, he got under a crag of ice and the polar bear came digging after him and what saved him was emptying his 5 .22 shorts in the bear's ear (the weapon was definitely of that era, had no transfer bar safety, so that fits, one would only carry 5 and leave the hammer on an empty charge hole unless one was expecting immediate trouble.) He said he ate the bear with his dogs but avoided eating the liver because some Inuits had warned him that bear liver was too rich in iron and would kill him.

He had a decrepit old 1911 government model with the old short dovetail that he said he had refused to turn back in. Hammer bit my hand pretty bad when I fired it, put me off of 1911s until I tried a modern Smith clone with a longer dovetail, now I have two 1911s, but too expensive to shoot these days here in Switzerland. He had a special extension welded perpendicular into the hammer because he said when he was in the SP he didn't like to carry cocked and locked, but in half-cock 7 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. He said he lost his partner in a raid on a drughouse because the partner was cocky, always carried chamber empty, and would rack the slide on his holster at the last minute, but it slipped that time, the rest of the story was gruesome.

Whatever service of the Navy he was in, he was indeed still a good shot when I knew him in his 50s and 60s and knew a lot about bushcraft and a lot about hand-to-hand techniques to pin an opponent. He had some old Navy manuals around, but actually more from Army Air Forces about various equipment and techniques. Hitching ties, truckers hitches, bowlines, etc. have allowed me to haul all sorts of crap on my car roof, and I still use the taughtlines and prusics he taught me to cinch down my tent, tarp etc. A few times I've had near misses in the mountains but I survived because I had thought to have the right stuff on me and the right ideas.

So if he isn't on an UDT or Frogman list, what was he? Obviously he was assigned to various details, the radio one in Alaska might have been classified then but not now and his records must exist somewhere.
