Looking forward to the upcoming video! But....I'd get it done before this weekend, as you will probably be in a deep funk by Sunday, after Army kicks Navy's butt....again (as Paranah said).
Also...please pray for us in East Central Florida the next few days. Our weather forecast is showing that we're going to see apocalyptic low temperatures in the upper 40's at night! We are all going to freeze to death here! LOL! Cheers all! (now where the hell did I leave my Arctic Parka....?)

Morning, all. It's amazing what sleep can do. Sorry for the sappy, sad sack venting last night.
Fire is still going strong but it's now pushing away from us. As long as the Rye fire (new fire that popped up yesterday) stays in it's own yard, we'll be good. What I'm seeing here on the ground is a lot of man power. I've also seen some pretty nice helicopters - far more than yesterday- that seem better equipped to deal with the wind. If you know the area (for those who may have been at Pt. Mugu or Port Hueneme), the fire hopped 33 near Soule Park last night and they evacuated Casitas Springs. Word is that Johhny Cash's old house went up but I haven't had that confirmed. Oak View got hot. And, some of the Thatcher School property was in danger in Meiner's Oaks. OJai's West and Northern ends seem ok- not under mandatory evac but the East and South edges are. Everything between hwy the seminary at St. Thomas Aquinas and Ojai's Steckle Park is torched. That's about 14 miles, I think. One the west side of the fire edge, Santa Paula was mandatory evac and Filmore is looking dicey. We retreated to Bardsdale for the time being. The Rye fire started just about at Magic Mountain/I-5. If that follows the wind down the river, we're going to retreat into Simi or Moorpark.
Personally, a few teachers and I got a headcount of families we know of and no fatalities that we can see. That's amazing. In fact, I think the Thomas Fire has only claimed 1 injury. So, that is amazing and miraculous. Kids are bored and school is closed so...might be time to go to the movies or something. We're not normally movie people but the air quality is garbage. Looks pretty blue skied over the hill though. So far, there's only been one, slightly humorous, thing that we forgot. The little man said "No school, YES! Can we go the beach or fish?" We *can* but the wetsuits and fishing rods can't. Only on the West Coast would that be the thing you feel sad about leaving behind such stupid things. We're gonna' head out and run the car through a wash to get the pink goop and ash off and then we're headed to organize some kids making some thank you packs for the crews. I'll check in again later- but, take us off your worry list for now. Thanks, guys.
