Nathan Phillips, Shit stirrer! Exactly! There's so much wrong with Mr. Phillips. Coming from the native community, I've seen these guys before.
1. He's singing the "AIM" song. A song that originated in the 1970's it's supposed to be a "Unity" song, but in this case he used it to intimidate and rally those with him.
2. He sees himself as a warrior. Not a far stretch for him to embellish himself as a "Recon Ranger" and "Vietnam Veteran".
3. He and those like him walk around looking for an excuse to be "insulted" or "disrespected".
4. He should have never approached those kids. If he wanted to stir shit, it should have been with somebody his own age or social status.
5. That teen did exactly what he was expected and only thing he could do. He stood there and listened and smiled. If he had walked away, Mr. Phillips would have targeted somebody else.
6. He's set Native relations back 50 years. I have friends and family that just love this guy, simply because he's a native in the news and I know I'll get shit for setting things straight.

The term is "Info-creep". Someone(you in this case) provide a synopsis of the info you've been given and then others start reading things into what you've seen or have received. People start filling in their own gaps and trying to link things which they believe to be true.
I'm really not on too many sites such as this and don't know what "This aint hell" is but I don't think you have any particular reason to make stuff up, which is usually why it happens in the first place.
You two just keep on keeping on and let it all roll off your back. "Us" here who know better and know who to trust certainly don't have any reason to make stuff up.

If it makes you feel any better...I'm looking at a high of -7 this weekend and not making it out of single digits for the next 7-10 days.
