Easy in the worm crap! I don’t agree with someone who said basically put pillows on exterior of cage. I’d 86 any cage. Years ago, and I think I’ve mentioned this before, but my old girlfriend’s daughter had a beautiful “store bought” bird. We came back only to find bird dead in cage type metall square link. I just had to have answers so I paid 50 bucks for a bird autopsy (I bet there is a darn cool name.). A 3 page report came back, vessels this, direct beak and head trauma that stating that more likely than not skull or cranial damage. The vet probably ready to spend the more than the 50.00 I spent for everything said in short “the bird smashed his head going nuts in the small metal cage.”
I do remember him saying they make “soft” cages” and that you have to put a blanket over. I did see a soft cage on line.

Now Don I don’t want to pay for another “bird autopsy” so PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. Maybe a vet could provide medicine but my friend I think you might just have a born free scenario here. However, if the right soft container, medication etc. so he won’t bang his head, my experience obtaining, reading and analyzing bird autopsy concludes that I believe you have a50/50 shot, especially if a vet could come up with perhaps meds,soft cage (sort of like a blanketed tent with  nylon screen all around. I think temperature important and avoid domestic disputes during transport. Lastly, if me, given how close you are to Jay, leaving him to uncertainty with an “unpredictable” promise to care for Jay, consult the vet and try. If Jay doesn’t make it you tried!
Certainly a tough call but many people have parrots, all types of birds. A friend of mine and wife had a green macaw and while he acted more like a loon and said some disturbing and disgusting words, my friend and his wife transported that bird on several moves and I always enjoyed it almost biting my finger off or calling me “Axxhole.” Best of luck. It's "Old Home Week" here in my small town. We celebrate it every 25 years. This will be my third one; hopefully, I will see four of them. I'm sure I won't see five unless I live to be 105. It's a time where those who were born here will migrate back to celebrate and reconnect with their roots. It's an 8-day party: drinking, live bands, dances, fireworks, car shows, street vendors, and parades. Most of the lads I went to high school with, including myself, have booked vacation. I've been off all week celebrating; that's why I haven't been posting very much. After this is all over, I'll be checking myself into Betty Ford...🍁

I spoke to the Lesbians at the bird rescue, to spare you the pain.

They say to start feeding it in the cage, it should roost in there of a night on instinct if theres a perch in the cage. Put the cage where it suits you not the bird. Close the door, put the blanket over the cage, rinse repeat. "it works 99% of the time" she said hitching up her overalls. Only feed it in the cage from now on, throw the worms in there.

Listening to your videos, old and new and doing my "training" to renew my 911 license for my new job. 40 hours of blah blah blah and a few questions here and there after 17 years on the job. I am the only person in my training class and they told me to go home and do it online because there is no reason to do it 40 minutes away....

Every time I hear abut veteran service dog organizations it always sounds like someone just scamming money. All dogs are empathetic and helpful emotionally, just go to the pound and get a dog. They don't need to pay someone 10K to train the dog before giving it to a veteran.
