I just learned earlier today that when you see a potato sprouting out of the ground you are supposed to pile more dirt on it. When you run out of height to pile on more dirt you can harvest them. Apparently some people will build structures so that they can grow 2-4 feet of potatoes in one spot. They just take apart the tower and the potatoes fall out with the dirt.

Diane I have had great success with seed from Hummert International They are based in Missouri and the arrival of their seed catalog is like Christmas. Their staff is great!!! Good prices. Their Herbs are awesome. I think they have at least 20 types of basil. Their mint is sure bet.
