Brandi, it says a lot about a person that has a high enough self-esteem to air their mistakes. It may not have been your best, however I am sure with a few more attempt you will be successful. Making a custard is a baking technique that requires precise measurements. I really enjoy watching your cooking video's, please keep them coming...

Custard pies don't "set up" while still in the oven. They are usually still jiggly. As they start to cool down is when they will firm up. Although browned and over baked the taste should have still been good if you don't eat the very top. I love custard pies and sometime stir coconut into the mixture. Craved coconut custard pie one time but had no coconut so improvised with coconut extract. Tasted just as yummy. Coconut custard pie is great.
