I need your opinions on how to mount my two new 25 foot flagpoles.
I can see two options.
1. Cement in a post and wire the pole to the post.
2. Cement in a piece of PVC pipe and insert the pole into it.
Option one seems OK, option 2, well the aim is not to lose too much of the total height in the ground. Say I cemented in 2 feet of pipe, that leaves 23 feet blowing in the wind so it may shift.
I feel like I am missing something. Any ideas?

I might add, its in 6 sections that slot into each other, by 4 inches each section, and the diameter is abut 4 inches. Its aluminium.

I don't want to pipe up out of line but, watching this it occurred to me that this video seems to hit on many of the Warriors Rest attributes.

Evening all. I was on a work call yesterday and about half way in my lower back started to hurt. I was in charge of picking up Gabriel at gymnastics because MrsNH was tied up. But it kept getting worse.
She would not be back until 2000. So I did what any dad would do and ordered a pizza. Apparently no delivery for where we live..only pick up. By this point the pain was unbelievable but I shuffled into the pizza place and asked the kid to carry the pizza to the truck. Thankfully MrsNH came home early and took over. At this point, the pain was so bad that I was afraid to sit because I was not sure I could get up. I swallowed two Vicodin that I had left over from my knee issue and had a rough night of sleep. Called the Dr. in the AM and he suggested cyclobenzaprine, which I understand is a mussel relaxer. He warned me not to drink booze or drive. I am cool with that but I don't like to take pills. Anyone had this before?

Been meaning to post this. Was off the coast of Maine. Had to stand in silence sorrow and gratitude. Freedom isn't free. My Grandfather being a WW2 veteran/ Navy though he didn't talk much about it I still remember the few times he did. Early morning coming. Catch Everyone later.

I've heard a couple things regarding cedar.
First that they need to be planted in the same direction they were facing when you pull them out, so mark it with a little dab of paint on it's North face (or whatever direction).
Second, that it'll shade your grave. I think that's just that they grow so slow you'll be long dead by the time it gets good and tall.
My 15 acre plot is packed with cedar. One of these days I'm gonna invest in a saw guide so I can cut some boards and make something nice with it.
