Day one of the kitchen remodel. Contractor is already complaining that the wall behind the stove has hvac ducts. Said it’s an outside wall and behind the stove and should not be there. Plus they want to vent the range hood there. Now they wanted to cut a notch in the 5 2x6 studs on the right side there to run it. Not a big fan of that idea. I am suggesting they use the bay to the left. Stand by!

Decided to do 2+ more hours walking around in my gear after the sun went down and moon came out. Was slow going with just a little moonlight peaking through. The moon was awesome tonight but it was still pretty dark and muggy in the woods. Good training for me and the dog though.
We'll be sleeping well tonight for sure.

Food poisoning is no joke…In the Navy, I ate a lot of “street food” in PI, Thailand, Hong Kong, etc…Never got sick. However, I did get sick from something at the “Top Four Club” on Cubi Hill…Wound up in ER at the base hospital, and SIQ for 2-days afterwards…Fell better, Senior Chief!

Hope everyone's well. Greenhouse and woods keeping me pretty busy lately. Clearing a spot in the woods now for a 10x12 shanty a friend's helping me build.
The dog and I patrolling the hunting property. Trying to get into something resembling fighting shape before the PLA invades or WW3 kicks off. Right now it's a just my plate carrier with 4 extra mags plus first aid stuff and a little camelback pack. Planning to move on to my big boy ruck by October.
I've gotta get comfortable jogging short hops in this setup first though.

The affliction that Don had is actually a virus. The medical term is the "iris virus" and it's common in large gatherings especially among people who haven't been in close contact for a while.

The symptoms are bloodshot eyes, a pounding headache and sometimes severe nausea. Fortunately most people's immune system can clear the virus in a few hours but severe cases can take longer.

Nobody is immune to it but we generally become more resistant to it as we get older, but it can and does strike with little warning at any age.

North Dakota has posession limits on non-resident hunters. The duck hunters figured out that if it was turned into food it didn't count against the possession limit anymore. There was a butcher shop in my neighborhood that soaked duck in brine in a vacuum tub and had it smoked and done in about 3 days. Duck jerky was no longer a duck for posession limit purposes. And it was good.

You can give Benadryl to dogs, to relax them, you just have to figure out the dosage ratio based on their weight. We give our dog Benadryl for New Years and 4th of July, during the days everyone is using fireworks. We give it to her each night there is a severe thunderstorm coming through, so she'll be relaxed and be able to fall asleep. With a high strung, anxious dog, it may be an option from time to time when necessary.
