luck to u senior chief and diane- something about retirement> most people still work on something- art?- i wanted to work like 4 hours a day every day- its not as much as a 40 hour week but 28 hours is still a substantial amount of work- u get to set your own hours and conditions- also sometimes i get involved in projects what take all day and more than one day-

Cascade mountains. I was workin 6 12hr days extending the runway at Seatac airport. After work on saturday id head up into the mountains to pan for gold. The bears were trouble and i never cooked food. At night i stored my cold food in the green river. I slept with a trip line attached to a surplus mess kit that would drop onto rocks if pulled and a 44mag in my hand. There was only one way in for a bear and i could escape up and out the backside. Some of the other prospectors up there would hit a good pay streak and fire off a warning shot if they saw you by there rig. I was as free as free gets up there and you had to think about everything you did, nobody was coming to help. I do miss it.

I spoke to Jan, she cant wait to move out of the house, too many memories, she expects Murray to appear from around the corner, hears his voice, poor thing, thats what 60 years of marriage does to you. The wild Crows that Murray tamed keep looking for him as well, so shes got to move. Shes buying a nice house closer to town, as in 5 minutes closer. Not short of a quid so its nice. Its what she wants, one of those best offer deals. I will send pics when its done, shes confident her offer will be miles in front. The house in Skye, I love it, best view in Australia. perched on top of the Adelaide hills, unobstructed views across the city to over the Ocean, Koalas, Deer, Roos, cant be built out. Best view of any house Ive seen, shits on Sydney Harbour. They built it in the 70s, even built a full sized Disco for their kids, Murray said he would build the best Disco in SA, so all the kids would go to his place and he could keep an eye on them, so he did. Its bigger than a normal house. All those kids now earn millions, Doctors, lawyers etc.
D&D you see, these are the problems you are avoiding by downsizing as a couple, making plans not for just in case, but when. It makes it easier on the woman who is left behind as you say, and now Ive seen it with my own eyes. Having the succession plan, is really worth it within the family, saves squabbles, everyones happy. Without pissing in your pocket, you two are smart.
One of the family has taken the Rolls, its not easy to find people who can afford to run and service one, the tires are 5 grand each now. I loved that car, its true theres no noise inside them.
We did a speed test once and there was a slight grunt from what sounded like the rear diff thats all.
The big Mansion has a home too, within the family, costs 50 grand a year to maintain the thing, same deal, need deep pockets. Anyway nice problems to have. Life goes on.

You can turn the fence into some fun, the panels that you showed in the video are a great blank slate. You can go on Temu and buy American themed or any theme fabric wall prints and hang em or glue em on the fence. very cheap can replace every year if you like. A mate got his grandkids to decorate his fence, well more graffiti it but it will be there for ever and they add to it every year.
The great wall of Virginia, you could paint it in DPM colors and then paint cows on it.

You can get nice matching mesh for the pool fence to keep the dogs out.

Just catching up on all the other comments. Hball. For your smash burgers. Try this. Use 1/3 cup to measure your ground beef. Roll it in a ball. Max heat your griddle. You had the right press but you should use parchment paper between the press and burger. Solves the sticking issue. Smash and add salt and pepper. We found out that you almost can’t over salt them. Cook to a good crust and flip. Stack with pasteurized cheese slices and toast the buns. I made 100s of them on the last road trip and they came out great.
