I just got an email from a service provider I pay bills to (It's the real contact, not a scam and informational only).

It says "We wanted to alert customers about a message we received from our bank. They advised us that the mail handled by the US Postal Service is extremely delayed (by reviewing postmarks)."

They are worried that this could generate "false" late fees as all the bank can do is check the postmark dates.

Anybody else hear of this? I know that the Post Office stated that mail will take longer but this says they seem to be getting late postmarks on when the mail was officially received and the processing starts..
Doesn't effect me because of the way I pay, it's for folks still using the US Postal Service to mail checks.

This system has been a way of life in Japan for a long time. They have a postal bank book deal for everyone. Many in Japan buy government savings bonds as well through the PO.
You can pay your bills, all of them gas, elec, phone , house, insurance ,etc auto. Everything is as automated as much as possible. You can also make payments to bills, railroad reservations, tickets to games and a bunch more stuff at a 7 11.

I wish the US luck with this but  all I see is a new way to scam and crime opportunity. like a lot of new fangled ideas they are always released to early with tons of problems.  Any BS against the PO used to be a FED offence but that term has lost its teeth.

PS one of the best deals here is that you can make a plane reservation your bag will be picked up at your house and sent to your destination a day ahead and be there when you arrive.

As an adult I never really noticed inflation except looking back over what things cost many years ago. Now I see the price changes from less than a year ago. Add in the border, Afghanistan, tax hikes, ridiculous 3.5 trillion "infrastructure" bill, gas price increases, just in time for the winter we should also have high heating costs, I could go on. I suppose I would ask the people who voted for Biden to at least apologize to the nation.

My hope for the return to sanity in this country seems to dwindle a bit more everyday. Republicans talk about change but the Dems harass you even in the shithouse now to yell their objection. When republicans gather in revolt, the Dems arrest, detain and drain your wealth trying to defend yourself. The white House has given China everything they want up to and including access to our weapons technology. We're importing voters so fast I don't think they even know how many are here. Then they are strategicly sending where their votes will nullify ours.Men like Soros keep supporting BLM and Defund the Police,while guys get arrested 46 times for theft and no jail time. We've been flushed and we're circling the bowl and we are to far from the edge to grab on .

Not a good day yesterday. Our car was totalled by an idiot thinking he could beat our car through an intersection just as the light turned yellow. We didn't have a chance in hell of avoiding this. Police clearly put the other driver at fault, and we're hoping his insurance is good.
I'm in a hell of a lot of pain all over this morning. Spent 4 hours in ER getting EKG, Chest X-rays, and Ultrasound. I have a cracked rib right at my sternum, as well as a few lacerations, heavy bruising from the seat belt and air bags...and for some unknown reason, my tailbone hurts like hell. My whole body hurts this AM.
Jennifer was taken by ambulance to another ER where they did a CT scan and as far as we can tell...no breaks, but following up today and she is also in serious pain throughout her upper body. Kai was not with us on this trip to the Base Commissary.
Thankfully, we are alive and generally whole. Drugs, patches, creams, and pain for a while, but we'll eventually recover and feel lucky that it was only a 30mph crash and not two intersections further where we would have been doing 45mph.
Kudos to Nissan for their safety features on our Rogue SL. The front, side, and pedestal airbags all deployed instantly and clearly saved our lives! Without them, we would not be posting at all.

Hey ESE family, i have a dumb question. Im not familiar with anything to do with parachuting. If some were on or near where the plane hit the world trade center and survived the initial impact, if they had a parachute, does anyone with experience of jumping...think it was possible to survive jumping from tower? Or would u need higher elevation to jump so it has time to deploy b4 u hit the ground. Im not trying to be funny or disrespectful by asking the question. It is something many ppl talked about after 9/11.
