I had a beautiful apartment in the center of Kyiv. I was building a new life there. I fled the country the morning of the invasion—February 24th, 2022 (we heard the missiles fall around 0500...my girlfriend says, “That’s just noises from the train nearby.” I said, “Train don’t sound like that. We’ve been living here for six months”) However, I’m on the upswing—I’ve landed a new job making much more money annually. It’s remote. My displaced girlfriend (a Ukrainian currently living in Czechia), is waiting for me. I will return to her soon.
