Gus Lamont parents appeal for information

5 months since Guys went missing, the parents have broken their silence, a week or so after the Grandparent was declared a suspect.

The parents of four-year-old Gus Lamont, who disappeared from Oak Valley Station on 27 September 2025, have appealed for public assistance as police investigations continue.

Gus’s parents have also released video and another photograph of him to assist the investigation.

Task Force Horizon investigations are continuing.

"We are united in our grief, and we are united in our search for answers about what happened to our little boy, Gus, who means everything to us. Our lives have been shattered, and every moment without him is unbearable. We know someone out there may have information. If someone knows what happened, we are pleading with that person—or anyone who may have seen or heard anything—to please come forward. Even the smallest detail could give us the answers we so desperately need.


“We also want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in the search for Gus. The tireless efforts of police, emergency services, ADF personnel, volunteers, and specialists have meant more to us than we can ever say. I received some very sad news today. A buddy of mine from high school called me to let me know his mother passed away. He told me that he was out snowmobiling with his brother and mother. They were on groomed trails at a provincial park. He told me that his mother asked if she could drive the machine. She'd driven tractors, trucks, Sea-Doos, and snow machines. They were having a beautiful day, riding the trails, taking pictures, and shooting videos. Mom took the sled and was driving the trail; my buddy was videoing her. She was doing fine, made a turn, and then they heard a crash and saw snow falling from the trees. They lost sight of her, and when they got to her, she had left the trail and slammed into a tree. My buddy and his brother started CPR and called 911. When the paramedics got there, they pronounced her dead. How brutal is that! A beautiful outing turns into tragedy. Her two boys did everything they could before help arrived, but her injuries were too severe. I feel just awful. I told my buddy if there's anything I can do, just ask. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. You just never know when your number is up.

Wow, just got email and then talked to one of my sisters.
Some scammer is going after my mother in her mid 90s.
The guy (or maybe it's a group) has used 5 different names but it's always a General and a name like General Townsend or General Thompson. 

He (or they) tried to suggest she send a gift card for his birthday.
She tells them she doesn't have any money (she literally doesn't have much, my dad F*ed his pension so he got more as long as he was alive but nothing was left after he passed). 

The problem is she really believes he (or they) are real person(s). She believes all the glorious honorable General stuff. They got her phone number and were getting in deeper and deeper. 

They tried fooling her to test for dementia by saying things like "remember sweetie I'm you 2nd husband".
She doesn't have dementia and knows she doesn't have ex-husbands out there but she thinks it's so fun and so funny and she doesn't have her head wrapped around what's happening. 

We  changed her phone number and locked down her Facebook account. (it all started through Facebook). 

We  already had control of what little money she has because there was so little in the estate and we had all been pitching in for her mortgage payments.
We locked out the one small monthly petty cash checking account she had access to just in case he got in a little deeper but they are pretty sure he didn't.

I'm back...back from the dead or as close as one can get without actually being DEAD!!!
It was the Pig FLU or the Bird FLU or whatever, it just SUCKED!!! Had stuff coming out of both ends at the same time, don't remember ever being that sick before. Even had a FLU shot.

Friggin Libtards…… comical but so sad.

One of which was a ball cap. He put the cap on and I was reaching for the bell. Someone in his group reminded him he was in the CPO club and he snatched that hat back off before I reached the bell.

In hindsight, they probably saved my life. Yeah, I might have succeeded in getting Rudy to buy the bar a round. I'd never have got to drink it though. He probably would have shoved that bell so far up my ass they'd have to do brain surgery to remove it.

Lance Corporal (now Corporal) Apiata was, in 2004, part of a New Zealand Special Air Service (NZSAS) Troop on patrol in Afghanistan, which laid up in defensive formation for the night. At approximately 0315 hours, the Troop was attacked by a group of about twenty enemy fighters, who had approached by stealth using the cover of undulating ground in pitch darkness. Rocket-propelled grenades struck two of the Troop’s vehicles, destroying one and immobilising the other. The opening strike was followed by dense and persistent machine gun and automatic rifle fire from close range. The attack then continued using further rocket-propelled grenades and machine gun and rifle fire. The initial attack was directed at the vehicle where Lance Corporal Apiata was stationed. He was blown off the bonnet by the impact of rocket propelled grenades striking the vehicle. He was dazed, but was not physically injured. The two other vehicle crew members had been wounded by shrapnel; one of them; Corporal A, was in a serious condition. Illuminated by the burning vehicle, and under sustained and accurate enemy fire directed at and around their position, the three soldiers immediately took what little cover was available. Corporal A was discovered to have sustained life-threatening wounds. The other two soldiers immediately began applying basic first aid. Lance Corporal Apiata assumed command of the situation, as he could see that his superior’s condition was deteriorating rapidly By this time, however, Lance Corporal Apiata’s exposed position, some seventy metres in front of the rest of the Troop, was coming under increasingly intense enemy fire. Corporal A was of suffering serious arterial bleeding and was lapsing in and out of consciousness. Lance Corporal Apiata concluded that his comrade urgently required medical attention, or he would likely die. Pinned down by the enemy, in the direct line of fire between friend and foe, he also judged that there was almost no chance of such help reaching their position. As the enemy pressed its attack towards Lance Corporal Apiata’s position, and without thought of abandoning his colleague to save himself, he took a decision in the highest order of personal courage under fire. Knowing the risks involved in moving to open ground, Lance Corporal Apiata decided to carry Corporal A single-handedly to the relative safely of the main Troop position, which afforded better cover and where medical treatment could be given. He ordered his other colleague, Trooper T to make his own way back to the rear. In total disregard of his own safety, Lance Corporal Apiata stood up and lifted his comrade bodily. He then carried him across the seventy metres of broken, rocky and fire swept ground, fully exposed in the glare of battle to heavy enemy fire and into the face of returning fire from the main Troop position. That neither he nor his colleague were hit is scarcely possible. Having delivered his wounded companion to relative shelter with the remainder of the patrol, Lance Corporal Apiata re-armed himself and rejoined the fight in counter-attack. By his actions, he removed the tactical complications of Corporal A’s predicament from considerations of rescue. The Troop could now concentrate entirely on prevailing in the battle itself. After an engagement lasting approximately twenty minutes, the assault was broken up and the numerically superior attackers were routed with significant casualties, with the Troop in pursuit. Lance Corporal Apiata had thereby contributed materially to the operational success of the engagement. A subsequent medical assessment confirmed that Corporal A would probably have died of blood loss and shock, had it not been for Lance Corporal Apiata’s selflessly courageous act in carrying him back to the main Troop lines, to receive the immediate treatment that he needed.
