I’m having to catch up on all the videos. I came down with pneumonia just before Thanksgiving, about the time I was getting over that I caught Norovirus (which that’s a hell of a time. Worst sick I’ve ever been in America. Now I caught dengue in Panama and malaria in Somalia but as far as the states goes it was bad) then after noro, I got the super flu, and now it’s turned into severe bronchitis. I’m still hacking and coughing but feeling much better. The pneumonia knocked my immune system out and before I could recover I kept catching shit. Haha hopefully I can have some time here to build my immune up. Senior I wanted to ask you if you knew or know of Dusty Turner? The SEAL who was evidently wrongly convicted of murder in the 90’s and it was his fellow team mate who actually murdered the person. And his fellow swim buddy/team mate who did it confessed to doing it in 2002 and said dusty had no involvement but Dusty is still in prison right now in 2026. I was curious if you knew anything about it?

I met my first Phony Navy SEAL today.
He had a Navy hat so I asked him if he was in the Navy and he said yes, he was a Navy SEAL and served in Vietnam. Next he told me he was a sniper.
I asked him if he went to boot camp in San Diego and he said yes, then they sent him over to the east coast to be a SEAL.
I asked him when he became a SEAL and he said '71.
I asked him about BUDS, he said they didn't have that back then. Asking for a class number would have been pointless.
I asked him how he became a sniper and if that was a tough Navy school?. 

He outshot his instructor, they didn't believe what he did so he put another 100 rounds dead center in the target and was told "Your graduation day is tomorrow" (that one's a priceless Phony classic).
He didn't know there were SEAL and UDT teams back then, SEALs just did everything. 

I asked him if he ever ran into Carlos Hathcock, he didn't know who Carlos was, didn't know Carlos was a Marine and said snipers work alone and usually don't run into each other. 

I am not sure he even went to boot camp in San Diego. I went there about 5 years later, he said they closed "Camp Nimitz and gave it to the Marines". 

I told him my memory of being on Nimitz Island (not really an island) and marching over the bridge on my 5-1 day (first day of the 5th week) to the new barracks on the main part of NTC/RTC.
He said he stood a lot of watches on the bridge.
Most watches in boot camp were fire watches for your own barracks. I only pulled roving watch once and roving watches did not stand watch on the bridge between Nimitz Island and the main base.

Clicked on this post out of curiosity . Brought back some extremley special memmories of Mom and her second husband Clarence Alexander . 1995 Mom and Clarence landed in Holland . Mom was so overwhelmed . People arguing who would have the honor of a Liberator and his bride to stay in their home . They visited the bridge where Clarence and his unit were pinned down by sniper fire for two days . Then later in the afternoon walk the streets of the cheering people who never forgot .

Had to laugh today. I was out with Mom earlier, and I dropped her off at one of her friends' places so she could have a visit. While we were on route there, stopped at a red light, Mom says to me look at that woman, she must have mental issues, she's talking to herself.
