lol, yea, Seaside's population was like 35,000 when I was out there and everyone talked bout how small it was, that was a big damn town to my country ass!!! I mean, sumbitch, Im in biggest town in 100 mile radius, our population signs say 14,000 people now, I remember 7,742 on the signs growing up! lol

yea, ELF, my unit did NTC at Irwin Nov/Dec 1992, Light Infantry so no where to go to get outta the elements and it rained like a sumbitch!! freezing cold, nothin dry, etc, etc... IT SUCKED!!!

I'll never forget when I saw the USS Oldendorf pull into Monterey Bay and they brought a few of us on board... I liked the feeling of being a part of something really big. Probably why I like the semiconductor industry.

The other places we did a lot of FTX's and support while stationed at Ord were Camp Roberts, and regular "visits" to Ft. Irwin...Yuck! My Combat Aviation Battalion was permanently barred from the O'Club at Ligget! LOL!

I was stationed at Ft. Ord twice. Basic Training and then the last assignment as a Cobra Pilot before I exited the Army. Been to Hunter Ligget many times for FTX's and R&D work with CDECC. Little known fact is that there is Gold to be found at Hunter Ligget. I've always wanted to go back with a metal detector for gold.
