80 years ago today...
I found this while I was looking through some of my dad's records. His ship, the USS George Clymer, left San Francisco on August 12th, 1943, to prepare for the invasion of Japan. He said once that they learned of the atomic bomb as they passed under the Golden Gate bridge and they learned that the war was over soon after that. He saved this little booklet for all those years but I never saw it until a decade after he was gone.

Blow it up and do a quick read. Quite interesting IMHO.

Since my community college dragged their feet on taking my admission I could not get into college this year. I want to go to Yale University to get my PhD in astronomy and in order to get accepted one of the requirements is to get a score of at least 1500 on the SAT. Since I could not get into college this year my main focus will be on studying for the SAT and taking the test hopefully next year. It's an over thousand page book too so I got a lot to study.

Very Cold 24 Hours At The Truck Camp. Feb 2023

Idiots Foccacciaaa. The actual hands on time is 7 minutes. Doubles as pizza, bread, rolls.

Mix 1 pound plain flour with 2 teaspoons of salt, mix well in a big bowl

Mix 17 ounces of warm water, call it two cups or 500 ml with 1 teaspoon sugar and 2 teaspoons instant yeast the dry shit in something and pour onto the flour.

Mix for a few minutes with a spatula till its all gloopy. Sprinkle it with olive oil, cover with plastic, shove it in the fridge for 10-12 hours.

Pour it onto a tray stretch it out to the edges, and wait 2-4 hours til its risen again.
Make dimples, sprinkle salt, garlic rosemary etc. bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes.

I'll take it, this summer's been uncomfortable.

Five years ago today my father passed away. He never suffered or had a lengthy hospital stay. He wasn't feeling well, and we took him to the hospital. They admitted him, and 10 hours later he was gone. Up until his last 12 hours of life, his mind was good, and he was happy. He wanted to go quickly and not be a burden to anyone. He went out on his own terms. Dad and I left nothing unsaid, no regrets. I miss him every day...🙏

Evening everyone hope all is well. Now that you won't be tied down to your property. You need to come up to North Dakota and go fishing with us. Over the years, there have been 2 organizations that take veterans fishing for a day. You and Diane would be an inspiration for a lot of these folks. Keep kicking ass in your new adventures.
