He can blame you for not holding his pole.. Next time fish with one pole what if you had 2 hits how were you going to not loss one of the poles. Sorry Don it your fault not Diane's

I was out on a deep sea, multi-day fishing expedition, with a $600 rod, and a $1400 reel, and due to extensive beer haze, I neglected to proper secure the rod and reel into the holder, no to install the safety chain. In 5 seconds I say the rod bend, and my $2000 set up shoot out of the hold, arc up into the sky, and skitter across the waves. My immediate reaction was to dive in after it, but ended up losing my footing, and did a bloody faceplant onto the deck. The pain did not register fully until the liquid libations started to wear off, and as the entire episode was caught on a video camera, I have not been able to live down the teasing my by closest friends. In future voyages of this nature I shackled the fricken rod and reel down to something solid, and cut back on the lager.
