You know want I think is Dianne, I think the older we get the less tolerance we have for pain. Or we just don’t care to try and tolerate it maybe? I dunno but when I was young I could literally block out pain by using my mind. The older I’ve gotten the less able I am to do it. Or maybe I just don’t want to exert the energy I know it’s gonna take? I’m not sure the cause or correlation…lol

I have had both knees done and it is wonderful when you get through the therapy. Set a goal, I know you know how to do that, and work to it. Take the pain meds on schedule, you don't get better faster by being in unecessarry pain and it hinders your ability to do the PT work.

My wife made me shuck them and down the hatch because she read they were an aphrodisiac. lol

Need a full medication report to help all of us facing these troubling surgeries.  Sad to think how they deny people medication when suffering in pain.  Nurses can be worst and pharmacists 

Diane So having gone through knee surgery are you starting to feel better than before surgery. Is this a life lesson for you get knee surgery and live through excruciating pain for a couple weeks and eventually the pain will be gone for the rest of your life. So how long would you have to live to make it all worth it?? Diane your not going to regret have gone through pain only a prisoner of war could relate to. Diane were all cheering for you and soon you’ll look back and think hell that wasn’t shit let’s do the other knee. By the way I’m considering getting a full shoulder replacement and it’s my understanding doing so will make life better in the long run but 6 months for recovery I hope I’ll live long enough to make it worth it.

Interesting developments here in FL. Guy who works for me lives in a upstairs apartment. Fella downstairs every bit of 400+lb died and wasn't discovered for 2 days. Rigor mortis set in and after hours of paramedics and medical examiner etc they had to cut his legs off just above the knee so they could get him out. My buddy literally watched them take him out on a gurney with his bone stumps and legs in bags. I said they didn't cover him? Nope.. The unit smells like death and needs cleaning.Morbid but it's what happened. I saw that fella multiple times and would wave to him. Never know when you're done dealing

I used to supervise home health teams at one time and I remember that most people, after knee replacement, rounded the corner in a big way on or about the 4th week. Hang in there.

Record numbers of geese didn't go south this winter. There's a flock that kept this hole open through the week of -25⁰ weather in early January. It kind of shut down the whole ice fishing thing unless you walk out with a float coat on.

There's a volunteer fire department in my area that does an oyster fund raiser every year at Christmas time. You can buy fresh oysters, I think by the quart, and they make some money on it.

If this works out your charity could sell to a few veteran organizations and it would be income for both. Warrior's Rest could make a few bucks for the hunts and a few American Legion posts or VFWs or what ever could either sell them or put on an oyster stew night or something.

Hi Diane! Sorry to see your having a hard time. That does happen to some people and others are fine. Some patients complain that cold weather affects them too. Most with the patients that have back surgery with implants to fix their back too. I always tell people that have back surgery to be careful with that because it doesn't always work. Guys, I’ve had 6 back surgeries and kidney cancer. My neurosurgeon who’s one of my best friends prescribes Norco. I take a 1/2 in the morning and usually the same at night. You are so correct about Walgreens. They make me feel like a junkie, I don’t like to wish ill on anyone but they should feel the pain I and others go thru everyday. BTW I am soon to be 70, own a consulting business and travel every other week. Fully functional, tax paying American not a pill abuser! About time Walgreens understands their customers. Hey!! It's geat to see Diane doing better! I said some prayers for you and I missed seeing you! My mom had a knee replacement, and I had to help her. Recovery was difficult, but now she is SO GLAD that she did it. At the time she second guessed herself. But, now she is walking great and she is very very happy.
